  • I can't get my shear pin out. Trying a punch to no avail. Soaking it in wd40 overnight and try again tomorrow. Any ideas? Craftsman makes a remover should I try that? Open to ideas. The shear bolt was rusty and both the head and bottom broke off so its all inside.

  • @jscram63 Well, at that point, break out the torch, get ready to lose a bit of paint from that auger, the torch with burn it a little bit, unless you have the newer style blowers with plastic composite augers and spacers, you may have to remove the whole gearbox assembly from the bucket. Heat up the shaft, and try again. Last resort is to drill it out, shearpins are not too bad when it comes to drilling. Check out donyboy73 he has some good tips for this.

  • ahhhh tecrapsa

  • Just replaced my shear pin but the blades still won't revolve. Two stage blower. Any ideas.

  • @126jimmyj Check to see if the impeller is spinning, if it is spinning and the augers are not then you have a broken gearbox. If the impeller and augers are both not turning, then check your belts underneath the black cover behind the discharge chute, also check your handle adjustments to make sure they are working.

  • ES is Electric Start.

  • good instructional video though a bit long for a simple shear pin fix.
