I've subscribed to Berlin's Digital Concert Hall since January, and I've been inspired by the production quality and the wonderful musical perfomances. I just wish that other elite orchestras (Chicago, Philly, NY Phil, etc.) would strive for something similar.
What a beautiful interpretation of Concerto for orchestra by Bartok. I thought it was a little slow in the beginning, but the clarity more than makes up for it!
Can't wait for them to play Sibelius symphony nos. 5-6-7, I have tickets for it!
One of the best concert subscriptions on which I have ever spent my money! If you're not able to be there live, this is be next best alternative! Seriously, do it!
my favourite is by far Daniel Barenboim - an absolute legend of music. And Abbado is just amazing. - i hope more Wagner and Beethoven is done tis season - like the 9th and cuts from the Ring. The Strauss was brilliant last season but most of all id love to hear more Romantic concertos - like sibelius and liszt and that :)
Excellent promo

I ve always loved this orchestra and its sound which has altered over the years but is still for me THE greatest in the world bar none.
Its outreach programmes are a model for every similar institution to win new converts to classical music.
And as a Brit I am proud Simon Rattle is still the principle conductor and just wish we had an orchestra that was even a tenth as good.
But you berliners have an orchestra not just for a city or country but for the world.
Bravo

It is the finale from Bartók's Concerto for orchestra (well, an adapted version - who finds the two cuts?)
BerlinPhil 2 years ago
On :45 one cut, on 1:27 second cut.

Not bad. But the first one is at 0:51 (our sound engineer will be glad to see he did such a good job).
