@Fendt939uk well said that man lol, yeh Fendts are the best, hoping to catch Keat Contractors soon, they run 6 Fendts, 820,818,3x718 & 714 some gear!!
@bufferbridge haha cheers, is that the contractors with MF's?? If so look forward to seeing your latest? They cut for a farm near wadebridge so will hope to get them myself.
@REDDERS718 No not the boys with the MF's,Chap called Pellow from down west coming up to do his uncles.been mowing today with their JD 6920s and 5meter Kuhn mower, quite a set up,but never had the camcorder with me.early days though plenty to come
bit early init for silage this time of year? they running low on silage in there clamp i guess? like hear on are farm in the west midland the grass on are land if only half foot tall so we dont normally start cutting till around mid june just b4 it comes in to seed . we have only just started sowing are maize ready 4 cut october time
@mrRobbins999 Yeh were on maize drilling down here too. There is only a select few of dairy farmers who cut this early, but not uncommon for most farms to have made first cuts by the middle of may, l think its something to do with the weather down here in cornwall that helps.
@REDDERS718 i bet on this farm if we have a good summer they will get 4 maybe 5 cuts of sillage this year, we only tend to do 3 cuts on ares, first cut of 200 acers of grass for the silage clamp then second cut 100 acers of small n round bale hay then n 3rd cut 100 acers of round bale silage and we have just drilled 80 acers of maize, how many acers of grass and maize dose this farm cut?
@destig83 yeh around here all the contractors are out about now making a start, this farm will probably make four cuts this year so they get in early, l dont think with dairy farmers that its all about quantity but quality of the crop, these particular fields were drilled last year after barley.
tidy outfit there boys, we cant get on coz of weather
