    I wouldn't. Maybe a adding a bit of greek/natural yoghurt just before serving might give it a little creaminess, but it's a Vindaloo and not meant to be creamy, it's meant to be sweat and sour.

    Depends how big the chunks of meat are. With chicken, if you cut it into 4 pieces per fillet I would say no longer than 15 minutes on a low heat. Nothing worse than overcooked chicken. Apart from AIDS, Cancer or Syphilis.

    Lamb and Pork depending on the cut works a lots better if cooked on a low heat for about 1 and a half hours, as it will get more tender.

    Trial and error really.

  • @DDDoppleganger1 Good point about missing out the coriander...Curry just aint right without it..but then this isnt really a traditional vindaloo...traditional vindaloo has alot less in it,no tomatoes for one..and im pretty sure it has potatoes in it too...same as bombay aloo does :P This is just a hot curry with loads of chilli in it...never had cinnimon in a vindaloo b4...when i make a curry i just chuck it all together...put loads of chilli in it so its hot and it all tastes the same...

I'm not a curry expert, but i love hot food, so much that i grow 4-5 different peppers. one that is entirely indian. the bhut jolokia. a fearsome chili that demands respect if not given will ravage you like a horde of vikings. i've tryed making a vindaloo with beef, instead of green and red chilies i used the bhuts. and it absolutely FLOORed me. Awesome taste, inferno heat.

  • Nice curry recipe but its not a true vindaloo. You got the vinegar and garlic in there, though nowhere near enough garlic , and you used fresh chilli when you should use dry, spice is about right but then you went and added turmeric; wrong taste. Authentic vindaloo is made with pork and is quite a dry curry and so never has tomatoes dude.

    The thing is, there are some cultures where, I guess, rinsing and washing rice is part of the preparation of it. But when you look at American, Jamaican, Zikbabwean, etc.. cultures, they don't do it. So it's really a matter of how the culture teaches you hw to do it. But at the end of the day, good rice can be cooked without washing or rinsing.
