Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. A trigger trombone doesn't help you play faster. It's that thing in your mouth that helps you play faster.

1) I wasn't referring to the clef, I was referring to the range of the part. Low trombone parts, especially ones that go below the range of a normal tenor trombone (low E), are often labeled "bass trombone". I believe her instrument is also a bass trombone, i.e., two triggers (or a REALLY long slide) and a larger bore and bell.

2) Tenor clef is actually quite common in orchestral music.

You would need to double tongue. For the solo she performed you would have to triple tongue. Double tongue= tuh-kuh Triple tongue= tuh-dah-kuh. Also practive preciseness. There are many trombone players that have a tendency to slowly move up their slide getting that "wah" sound. Push forward faster into positions. Good luck!

I suppose that since they have F attachments that they could trill with the trigger but that would be way too hard to get it that clean. It's probably lip trills. But you can trill with the trigger. It's fun because you piss off all of the other instruments, especially trumpets.

It looks like they're lip trills. That requires some very good control. The arrangement is in B-flat instead of the original A-flat, so most of the trills are F to G, and played in fourth position.

Also that bass sounds really sweet going down to pedal F.
