It's very possible to look directly at ol' Sol under the right cloud cover. Also, if that dot were anything special astronomy wise, we'd know about it. Even if it were a government project, not every scientist/astronomer with a 'rational' mind (no aliens, ghosts, Cthulhu, etc.) is under lock+key by the government. A coverup of something that can seen by anyone with eyes is impossible. If 'Niburu' were approaching, especially visible by naked eye, there'd be more of a buzz from the beakerheads.

I live in Red Deer Alberta and have pictures of the same thing, moving along the sky near the sun. It is NOT the sun or the Moon! We have seen it all over Alberta, but not everyday. It seems like there are always way more clouds blocking the sun than any other parts of the sky. I could stare right at it with no effects to my vision. My whole family got out of he truck to watch it move through the clouds on different days. This is in Canada too..

I am not a 'conspiracy theorist' but i am level headed, so i know its not the sun or the moon.. so what is it? it's a HUGE circular mass moving in and out of the clouds at a fast rate close to the sun. It doesnt stay still.. We have been curious about this planet-like object since we first saw it about 6 months ago, and still continue to see it often. We even saw it very clearly driving in the rocky mountains. This is something that is hidden in plain view.

@robillards2012 I do read into real history, and being former military, I'm well aware of the existence of governments secrets, possibly more than a huge chunk of the civilian populace. As for the object, I'm aware there is something, as I can see it, I said it wasn't anything special. It is impossible for the US government to silence everyone that can see the object. The black spot is most likely Mercury.

Sunspots aren't usually visible with the naked eye and when they are there are many of them.

The reason you could look at it without your eyes hurting is probably because of thin cirrus clouds which would have diffused the light making it easier to look at but would have been very difficult to notice on the backdrop of the sun's bright rays.

So what you witnessed, while an interesting astronomical phenomenon, is nothing strange.

Ok, so not unusual from a scientific standpoint but strange to see, especially if you've never seen it before. :-)

If you want to see more strange things like it I suggest joining your local astronomy society (or at least their newsletter). They should update you on when the planets will be visible as well as whether there will be comets or meteor showers to see.

As for the cloud thing, I'm Irish.

With our weather I'd probably freak out if I DID see the sun. XD

Just watched this again, just noticed you said it was 5:30pm eastern. Interesting. It's definitely not the sun, look at other sun videos on youtube and the sun always makes really intense camera and lense flares. Plus this object isn't illuminating the sky, the source of light in the sky is definitely NOT coming from this object. And the black dots could very well be moons or planets orbiting this object. It could even be comet like ELENIN that is orbiting this object. Great video!!

When you look at soho and sdo pics and vids, there are comets and stuff flying around all over the place, and the sun is throwing out increadile cme's and flares.

If you download free stellatium software, you can plot where you were at the time of this vid, and see if there were any planets in the suns vicinity...

I would say, definately a black sun spot. Saw a few last week on SOHO, as eric1970 said. I just dont know girlfriend, about anything else. I can't say for sure on anything. Ive observed the sun here in KC, and I try to get anomalies, but it seems to appear pretty normal. (besides the chemtrails) But I have seen some real strange shots, that could possibly be something near the sun, which can be viewed at certain places or times. Looked very strange to me. Peace!
