The whole work is like this - the barely perceivable transition between recitative and aria. Peri was one of the first composers of the new form of Opera. I love the instrumentation and the presentation.

The opera uses very little instrumentation. What might sound like a recitative is actually an aria.

This recording has all the right elements.
Voice, instruments, acoustics, authenticity, in a nice environment for the epoch.
Makes me feel like i visited the yar 1600 for a moment.
