I think the Kromocolor looks nice on these cartoons. There are at least 2 others on YT with M&J: Soda Jerks and Slick Sleuths, both excellent.

I have the 200 classic cartoons DVD, and this is on disc 3. this cartoon was epic even when I was a kid.

This short was originally as a black & white silent cartoon in the 1920's, but it was redrawn in color in the 1930's and it was made by an infamous bootleg company called Kromocolor, where they also made "Slick Sleuths". It was distributed by Modern Film Sales Corp. This company was short lived but it lasted two cartoons, but it went out of business shortly afterwards.
