My copy of Mosby's Expert Physical Exam Handbood (3rd ed.) says so. I guess palpation and percussion could set up disruptive sounds in the abdomen.

Good content, however after inspection is auscultation so you don't alter bowel sounds.

y auscultation should be first! this way you dnt affect the peristaltism!
