I've been there a long time and I don't think Hoboken is as much of a party town as it once was. It's a very high income area, and houses more families and commuters now than in the 1990's when things were a little more wild. The last thing the mayor wants is MTV coming in filming Snooki vomiting and urinating in public, and setting the town back in terms of social progress. I would guess that her logic is that she doesn't want her town to be equated to Seaside. Seaside is a joke.
