  • "Here's the deal, folks. You do a commercial - you're off the artistic roll call, forever. End of story. Okay? You're another whore at the captialist gang bang and if you do a commercial, there's a price on your head. Everything you say is suspect and every word that comes out of your mouth is now like a turd falling into my drink." - Bill Hicks

  • this band is overrated. ten is a great album but they arent grunge

  • Pearl Jam is overrated and just plain fucking gay, the sooner you get that through your thick skulls the sooner you'll be able to discover music that's actually good. not everything from the 90s grunge movement is phenomenal, in fact: it's just overmarketted garbage that was shoved into the faces of all the drones watching mtv at the time. so much better music came out during that period that we can safely assert that pearl jam was and still is fucking pop rock.

  • @Cdubzhappy "Pearl jam" is directly marketing through target. Because the Target department stores are fair to their employees and customers with wages and prices. unlike wal-mart- sam-goody-circuit city EtC. this is why they sell exclusively there. This goes out to @cdubzhappy and the rest of you ignorant fucks. so go back to jacking off thinking about justin bieber and kanye west." to bad to dumb" to realize great artist and musicians. write back anything you want not going to read it gone.

  • @Cdubzhappy Jesus Christ, angry man. Go out in the world and get laid or something.

  • @pjokkenroll That was just fantastic. Bravo!

  • @Cdubzhappy Don't mention it. Glad to help.

  • @pjokkenroll I liked the part where you used the "get laid" material, that was gold. Just like the guy before you! Quite an homage to his inflammatory styling.

  • @Cdubzhappy You weird bitter sad little person. Why do you spend so much time commenting this band you obviously hate? The future's burning, go make something out of your life.

  • @pjokkenroll Well, I'm not really commenting on the band now, am I? Most of my comments are directed in response to people who have taken it upon themselves to initiate contact with me. You sound like you have great things on your plate though, I'll take a page out of your book and seize the future. Thank you for your words of wisdom, oh typical one.

  • lol. Buy it exclusively at Target or Itunes. Capitalist, greedy scumballs.

  • only at Target?

i didnt get my copy at target

and everyone whos called any band 'sell outs' just listen to 'hooker with a penis' by Tool

'i sold out before you even heard my name'

  • Anti Capitalist? No.Anti Greed.Yes. Put away your "sell-out" labels and get a grip. Concerts involve paying the road crew, the venues and its staff, security for peoples safety, local hotels and accomodation, the people and companies who make the instruments and tech used, and so on - all good honest people and good honest jobs, doing something good. A ticket may cost a bit, but you get to see the best live band in the game. Want to hate someone for greed? Hate the bankers who bankrupted America

  • awesomeee ^__^

  • TO THE HATERS:

pearl jam reached an agreement with target and ONLY target to sell their album because they were selling it themselves without the use of big corporations. the only reason this commercial is here is to tell ppl that its only available at target (and local record stores). or would you rather wander around four different stores before finding the cd.

P.S. the only reason they are "in" the commercial is because they are using footage from the music video.

  • Actually they are getting 5 dollars per cd. That was Stone Gossard said it himself. So your so called anti capitalist are in fact some of the biggest capitalist around.

  • I never said niether pearl jam or target werent getting paid of course they were. i was addressing the fact that they did not "do" a commercial as say metallica did for guitar hero. and if people dont like pearl jam because they think they "sold out" need to get off their fucking high horse and enjoy the music because theres a lot of great messages on the new album. by todays standards they are still great as ever, unless you guys wanna take ur chances with shit like theory of a dead man.....

  • My only point is that PJ comes off as an Anti Capitalist, "We are for the fans" type band. I got a bootleg that has Eddie saying that they design their shows so that a Dad and his boy can afford to come to a concert. I've been to 12 shows and in 2003 they charged 35 bucks that was very affordable and I just went to the Salt Lake show and it was 75 bucks. They can charge what they want for their stuff but then dont act like we are keeping things on the cheap. u r right in what u replied though.

  • So Pear Jam sold out to the country top 5 monopoly chains, and everyone who say so is a hater?

Wow! can't belive how fast the grungers forgot the "alternative" music values, sad shit, more pathethic then the 80s acts honesty.

Do you think the new generations see this guys as real rockers? they turn into every single thing that they hate: old washed out egocentric freaks.

Anyone who doesn't agree with this is a blind FANATIC

What's next? Cornell doing a album with Justin Timbarlake?...wait!

  • @thefonkykid As a member of the "New Generation" I think Pearl Jam are genuine musicians. Sure, they did a TV ad for their album. They also did a TV ad for yield. When you look at the shit the music industry is putting out today, A young musician needs something like pearl jam to inspire and look up to. Personally, one target commercial isn't that bad. Of course, PJ is past its prime, but they still rock compared the complete bullshit my peers listen to.

  • How funny to see his fake anger in the middle of the Target logo. But money talks.

I feel sorry for the blind fanatics, they gonna have to keep excusing them for the rest of their life.

    90's sucks!

  • NIN sold more than 5 records! They have a serious of multi platinum albums under their belts. NIN ar e agreat band fuck you

  • No.. Having Target a huge corporate machine that Pearl Jam was so against make a commercial with a corporate their logo being stamped on people's hands as they walk into a "Anti Corporate" bands concert is.. that's all I'm saying. They need to do what they need to do to get their album out. Just think it sucks. That's all.

  • Think you ar egetting it the wrong way around. PJ are doing this independently through their own label which is anti-corporate enough a sit is. Distribution wise if traget do them a deal then fine. Just know that the band will get mor emoney from this than they would from a major label. U should be celebrating the fact not accusing them of corporate sell out!

  • I'm enjoying this. Great opinions with some great people! Nice to see people write a sentence with cursing.. Refreshing! I love Pearl Jam.. have since 1991. Even have the Alive guy tattoo. Whatever it is the music is amazing. In the end.. That's all that matters!!

  • Pearl Jam is THE most genuine band ever, everyone who has been following them over the years knows this, SO SHUT YOUR FUCKING FACES AND DON'T DISS MY BOYS!

  • @pjokkenroll Dont worry about these fucking idiots my friend. They will never .(1. know good music. 2 get laid. 3, make it outta their momma's house." there just trying to make themselves feel important. "Fuck Em"

  • @SuperWells34 Wow, you're 34 and you still talk about people living in their mom's house and make Justin Bieber insults. Clinging to the mainstream of old like the dimwit you are, you don't even realize the wealth of good music came in the 90s which which was overlooked because of mass-produced garbage like this garbage, and Nirvana.

  • @SuperWells34 You know all that shit that sounds the same, which you love so much? That's pop music getting depressed because it didn't know where to go so it started masturbating in the corner and created songs like "Smells Like Teen Spirit" (which was a inspired by a fucking deodorant commercial). You're a major tool, and you're just terrible. Somebody needs to sterilize you.

  • Bill Hicks would like this....

  • why on earth did they choose The Fixer as first single? I will never understand...this is a nice funny song that would make a great b-side...remember Down?

  • ?????? Fixer is one teh best songs they've written in fuckin ages and is also their biggest hit single in a long time which is why they chose it, which is why their new album will do rather well and all that is right in the universe will be restored!

  • You said it man! Pearl Jam are the ANTI-SELLOUT BAND! Their most popluar album was their FIRST! They got LESS AND LESS mainstream since then!

Yet they still rule! People just want them to make Alive and Jeremy OVER AND OVER andd dont want the band to try new things and be creative, WELL TOO DANG BAD! That is what Pearl Jam is all about! :D

  • There are ways to get CD's out other than through exclusive Target contracts... Nine Inch Nails managed to release a couple of records without a record label and without locking themselves into selling it through one store.

  • HOLY SHIT!! Hell froze over...
