I love Alison's cover of this Beatles song. She is a very talented performer. Thanks for posting. My only other comment is that when you post a video of a song you should also list the composer, in this case Lennon and McCartney.
@Olafhucketall As to "following in the footsteps of", I'd disagree. If I had to do something so silly as to name Alison's precursors, I'd include Emmylou Harris and surely others unknown to me. Mostly, Alison's a one-off.
As to who she resembles, are you serious? Dig deeper.
When I was in my 20's, the NPR station in Bowling Green KY aired a bluegrass music show, including local bluegrass events live and talent contests...a young woman was notable as a repeat winner of fiddle contests (she didn't sing in those days, she was no more than 14 or 16 years old), a lady named Alison Krauss who come across the river from Illinois. Since then she has become the iconic sound of class, sincerity and the elegant American sound....one of the great artists of our time.
well i went back to review allison's version vs paul mccartney's version -- and i have to say paul wins. his version made me cry. probably credibility. he was married to the same woman for over 30 years--i think hers just lasted a few. while we all love allison--i think she has turned into a diva in disguise.
@1pupblacky Who said this was a competition between versions. Why can't you just listen to a song and enjoy it without turning it into a contest between different versions?
@kyleluvsjoplin Seriously? It's got to suck to be you. The most beautiful, sweet, and melodic voice of our time and you can't hear it. Enjoy New York City... and hell.
I like this song and this vision. ร้องได้เพราะมากๆครับ Thank you.

Her talent is amazing with the violin but her truly magnificent gift is her voice. She is incredible and I have deep respect and admiration for her.

Originally from Tony Furtado's 'Within Reach' album. Rob Ickes on dobro. Alison sold a few more copies on her albums (same recording).

Words simply cannot do Alison justice. So we listen, in awe, rather than speak.

She follows in the footsteps of Linda Ronstadt, (Whom she somewhat resembles), Judy Collins, and the best of those 60's/70's beauties.
