In another match, Skipper wanted to get hit with a spear in the middle of a backflip, but Goldberg didn't feel like doing any work that night and just wanted to spear him, pin him, and leave.

i'm so tired of hearing how "lazy" goldberg was.

it was late WCW.

tell me one guy who wasn't "lazy" and in the main event spot.

exactly the entire roster was lazy. the writers were lazy. the production was lazy. the entire company was lazy and died for it.

to use that as a knock on goldberg who was called up after he learned to do a collar tie is like saying a baby not being able to walk is lazy.

he wasn't given time to learn b4 he was thrown into "Da Man" spot

@theraVen27 You say the whole roster was lazy, but again, people like Elix Skipper were trying to earn their paychecks, get noticed, and get over with creative spots, and still build up the characters.

A single spot where Elix Skipper does a backflip and gets speared would help both wrestlers, while still reinforcing Goldberg as a monster.

Yes, he was lazy, he didn't appreciate what he was given, or respect that other people were just trying to find a little success in his shadow.

unless they fuck it up then it hurts the goldberg push and gets skipper fired.

how did he not appreciate it? he still to this day gives credit to wrestling for giving him a life. i bet he appreciates the hell out of his house he's sitting in right now.

what's to respect about a guy trying to take ur spot?

this was wcw the strong survive the weak aren't in hogans circle..

DDP was a guy who fought tooth and nail to get to the Main Event, and made a lot of other guys look good on his way there. As a matter of fact, he's the only guy who got to the Main Event without a monster push during that era.

Goldberg, like I said, when someone like Elix Skipper wanted to do something interesting for their match, Goldberg's laziness took over in order to inflate the "Streak" with a minimum of effort.

DDP is/was Bischoffs best friend. its well documented. I love DDP, one of my all time favs but he didn't scratch n claw nothin..

but yes he made everybody look like a star. he was that good!

if you look he had a great win loss record

that's when the BOSS steps in and says no you are doing the spot...but again it was WCW. blame the game not the player.

@theraVen27 Right, but you certainly wouldn't call him lazy, like you asked.

And some spots are called by the boss, usually the finish, the rest are called by the wrestlers themselves - bookers cannot book an entire match, so they leave it to the wrestlers to put together parts of their matches, even as they are wrestling.

The question is why wouldn't Goldberg do it? No one had to remember Elix Skipper, but wouldn't people remember Goldberg spearing a guy in the middle of a backflip?
