the best thing about tom isn't his riffs, its his vocal melodies, there simple but are catchy as fuck. anyone who disagrees listen to one song he's written all the way through and i guarantee you it will be stuck in your head for the rest of the day.

The reason Tom sounds "awful" live is because he records his pitch waaay higher than he is comfortable singing in.. He's not 20 anymore. His squeaky voice has turned into a melodic, matured voice. On the new AvA record, he sings a lot more in his comfort zone. He sounded AMAZING with Blink in the summer last year, and he's going to sound beautiful on tour with AvA and Blink this summer because he has started singing in his comfort zone. To all the haters, The man is a LEGEND. End of story.

It's called an acoustic performance. It's where you're playing with acoustic instruments instead of big amps and drums. Good musicians with good ears know that they should usually sing quieter for these types of shows.
