My friend has long, straight, thin hair and what we did is straightened it before she went to bed, hair sprayed it, then went over the curls again in the morning and sprayed it again.

They lasted all day and she looked adorable :3

a good way to keep curls is by using gel spray on a section of hair then curling it therfore it burns off any oil or grease in the hair, then once youv finished curling the hair you run your hands through it so the curls aren't brick hard :-)

wow so I am in cosmetology school and she didn't do them right at all.... first off she left the ends out so they ended up scraggly second you put a thermal protectant on prior to curling and then you mist with a hair spray afterwards otherwise your curl will wind up crunchy as hell..... oh and those curls looked ridiculous!!!

I think people with straight hair who want their hair to last all night long have already tried this. Also this is NOT the BEST technique for hair that easily falls flat. Instead of twisting the iron one is supposed to wind the iron to create tight wave curls that look the same but create more bends therefore allowing the hair to hold better.

Look at some one with natural curls... dry and frizzy in nature, so try to imitate that and you have a better chance. the more your blow dry and use a curling iron the better your hair will react to heat styling.

Try adding mousse while it's still wet, and get curling enhancer (drugstore) while its wet, curl when its dry, and spray it after you do each layer. Also, shake your head upside down and spray for volume.

My hair is really straight and really fine. On my wedding day, the stylist washed my hair but DIDN'T use conditioner. Then she put a LOT of small, tight curls all around my head and sprayed it. That was at 10 AM and the wedding was at 2 PM. Before the wedding I brushed it out a bit and TADA! nice, romantic waves. My hair actually held a lot of body until I washed it the next morning. It is, for 1 your gonna fry your hair and 2 your gonna mess up the curling iron cuz it gets all sticky with the hairspray and gel. Your best bet is to put heat protector spray on your hair before you curl then spray hairspray over all your hair after you have finished curling your whole head. Thats what I do and it stays all day till I take a shower.
