  • BEAUTIFUL, ABSOLUTE BEAUTIFUL JOB!

  • @oldmantook1 Thanks very much, John

  • Since I'm a great fan of James Taylor, I had my doubt in starting to listen to this version. But: this is such a charming and relaxed version of the JT song! I'm really impressed. Compliments from Holland!

  • @cjw08 Thank you very much. No doubt I too am a huge JT fan. I love this song and really enjoy singing it with my girls.

I visited your country about 35 years ago and loved it. Take care, John

  • BRAVO! Your guitar playing is excellent and your three daughters together are in perfect pitch and tone together. You guys must have alot of fun doing these!! Any other videos coming out? Keep up the great work!!!

  • @George7171 Thanks George, the girls are a few years older now and have become incredible singers. I do need to post a new tune with them. Will be in touch when I do.

    Take care,

    John

  • How is your family doing now? I still love hearing your really lovely voices.....girls must be somewhat older now...do you still sing together??Thanks for your graceful rendition of this song again!

  • @reachhigh10

Family is doing great. Still singing together but mainly in the summer as school keeps the girls pretty busy. So glad to hear you like the song. It is still a favourite of mine. Thanks.

  • Beautiful and very spiritual the experience of listening you.

  • That was a lovely rendition of what has just this week become my favorite song. The girls do an excellent job with the song and the harmonies and the Dad (?) has an excellent voice too!

  • Thank you for your kind comments.

I did a concert in the fall and was fortunate enought to have me three girls sing with me. We did this song which is very much a favourite of mine as well.

    John

  • Nice job! Can you enlighten me on the bridge chords (nevermind the wind, nevermind the rain..)? Thanks.

  • The bridge is made up of F#m7, C#11, repeat then Dmaj9, E. Leading home again it starts with A then E/g#, f#m7 F7, Em9, A7.

    Hope this helps, John

  • thanks!

  • @lemmej Oh, and one other small thing. The title of the song is spelled "My Traveling Star" with one L. Although Travelling is an accepted spelling, the song title (the "American spelling) is with one L. Small detail, I know.. but may help with people finding the video? Thanks again and good job!

  • Thanks. I fixed it.

    John

  • Well my beautiful Lemme family...we are in Florida and decided to listen to some "good" music...so we went onto youtube and listened to you four....it was like a kiss from home! We love you all and as you have probably guessed we are definitely some of your biggest fans! xop the marsiglio's

  • Really awesome, my favorite song on October Road and this is a great performance.

What are the chords you are playing for pre chorus and chorus? (the sheets and the blankets.... and "never mind the rain....)

I have been able to figure out the verse riff mostly from ear, but I can't get this next part.

    Once again, outstanding. Thanks

  • This is also one of my favourites from the October Road album but I really love it on his One Man Band CD and DVD. If you don't have it I would highly recommend it. Great music and performance from start to finish.

Re the chords, I am not sure of the exact names but it starts with an A chord with my thumb on the second fret, 202220 and then goes to a short bar chord on the 4th fret of the high four strings, 004444.

    Hope this helps,

    John

  • John, you have such a beautiful voice! And your daughters sing lovely, too! This is one of my favorite James Taylor songs! Let the girls know it's okay to move a bit with the music when performing! It'll help them loosen up and give a more relaxed performance. Thanks!

  • Thanks very much for your kind comment.

You can't tell from this video but on stage the girls are extremely relaxed. We have a lot of fun joking with each other.

This was the first time we were on a TV shot and I must say I too was quite nervous.

This is one of my favourite JT songs as well.

    Thanks again,

    John

  • Thank you. The girls really do have incredible voices. Its a pleasure for me to sing with them.

  • Very good rendition of JT! Girls are great back up vocalist!

  • Yes, PLEASE post more songs! It is definitely one of the warmest and soul touching performances in a while.

    Thanks!

  • have you got the tabs of this song??

    please say me the web

  • Hello,

I am sorry to say but no I don't have tabs.
