Virginia Wade is such a handsome woman. I wonder if she had a bit of a crush on Chris Evert? She always seems to in a sort of a swoon over her.

When you look at Evert's fluid shots, great overheard and fantastic reflex volleys, it seems hard to believe that she could ever lose even a set to Austin with her horrible stiff backcourt play! It is interesting to see some now unknown players, and the overall standard in the lower rounds seems to have been good, that is nice play from Wendy White in the fourth round, and of course Mima Jausovic was no pushover who could play with the best.
