If you were to ask Dave, he would tell you that they became good friends in rehab and that he actually did approach Mike with the opportunity. I would be related to either the current or a former drummer of Megadeth, but the opportunity was refused. Mike didn't want to get into the whole scene of drugs and alcohol. This is all 100% true.

I haven't actually met Mike in person yet, because he lives in a different state, and we haven't yet made the travel to visit him. Unfortunately, he gave up drumming for many years. @summercucumber He actually just picked the instrument back up about a year ago. He picked himself up a nice Yamaha kit. I'm not entirely sure what line it is though. I heard he's giving lessons down in Phoenix, Arizona now. If you live by there, check him out. Obviously, he's knows what he's doing if he's had those opportunities.

@Ryu12543 Not really, everytime I hear james hetfield, I can only think of Creed and the "oooahhh" at the end of every word. So I have to disagree that james is better because they both are not very good to be honest but metallica just went mainstream and megadeth didn't. Saint Anger and most of the black album was really awful, most will agree. I don't recall Megadeth making a bad album...Yeah def. not.

Megadeth sold out too, I mean: Countdown (which I realy like actually),Youthanasia, and of course RISK! (MORE AFTER BUT NVM). I think the true reason why everyone going on Metallica for selling out, but not going on megadeth, it's because Metallica are more popular, so peaople are shitting on them and not on Megadeth. I think this e-battle between Megadeth and Metallica needs to come to an end. They're both great bands.
Don't get me wrong, I like Metallica more, but I'm not going to trash on Mustaine.
Mustaine went through absolute hell after being kicked out, but it was his fault.
