  • DUDE IS ALL AMERICANS THAT FANATICAL

WORK WORK WORK STROKE DEAD (sorry if sounded insensitive)

but yeah love your vids btw

  • The scrap yard is a cool idea, but are you at all worried it might undermine your main business. For example if people see a reasonable scrap yard army for a fraction of the price of a custom BTP army (on the very same web-site) might they be tempted to plump for that instead? Don't want the scrap yard to get out of controls such that it devours the main BTP business and BTP simply becomes a major entrepot of the secondary market.

  • was just thinking ... those tables that have the plants on them should be painted in a Earth blue? Food for thought. Love the place and the video! The sky is the limit eh!

  • I only watch for the tache

  • Excellent video, sir! I love the videos where we get into your thought processes. The company is in very good hands and the future is so bright I'm wearing shades. Keep up the great work/fun and look forward to 2012.

  • you could do online bat reps woth fans/subscribers online

  • Great vid Shawn...

It conviced me that I would like to go into buisness with you.

I'll mail you with some inqueries.

  • I remember back when it used to be you in your first studio, what looked like a basement. Great times! :D You've done well for yourself and your rage-stache. Well done sir :) You've made a great life and you deserve all the good things that are coming.

    Love,

    The wargaming community!

  • Look how many people follow your every word.

I for one cannot afford to order an amazing army from you, but I still watch every video you put up just to get a few pearls of wisdom.

It will be a sad day for the world when our daily dose of BTP has ended, but from I gathered from your ramble, you won't let that happen.

Keep it up mate, you inspire so many people.

  • I wish I had your motivation.

  • I love to listen to your thoughts and dreams, it is awesome that you are following them. I wish that I could follow my dreams and be as successfull as you are, though my life is quite a mess right now I hope it will turn to the better. I hope you and btp will continue growing. Best wishes.

  • Don't stop to buy magic cards on your vaccations though, thats what the honeymoon was foor XD

  • I think you'd look great with a mustach and/or goatee. :) Or a full beard for that matter!

  • Your face at 15:11, when paused, is fairly scary.

  • I remember a tau batrep where we played against you! it was awesome sort of :). (by us i mean the fans commenting what to do)

  • Videos like this is the reason i watch BTP being an owner of a growing business, these videos hit home more often then not.

  • I hope to see by the end of 2012 Blue Table Painting become Blue Table Unlimited

  • come to the east coast, its very different...vacationy

  • another exciting thing happening in 2012 is the end of the world! haha just kidding. love hearing your thoughts shawn. loved this video like always

  • the mustache is leaving its mark in your demeanor

  • The only way you can raise the quality would be by setting up a mini-studio for filming in an off-room. Of course with that set-up you could easily live-stream games as well. However, don't jar yourself too much on "quality," when it comes to film quality for this type of podcast for this fandom yours is pretty high up there on the list with MWG and Terrainoholic and the others. I do miss your How To's and DIY vids though like the Sandstone. You and your staff have came a long way and a good way

  • love you guys Shawn, and hoping for more RPG vids so hard to fined good ones.

  • awesome vid shaun keep it up

  • Really enjoyed it, thanks!

  • Life sized chess for table top gamers!

  • This is great stuff. Having a long term vision is critical the success of personal and business ventures.

So much I want to say. Keep it up. Teach your people the importance of visioning for their projects and careers. This will bubble up your leaders.

Every time I watch one of of these I'm convinced you would be inspired by the work of Zingermans. Great stuff about building people, community, and business.

    Keep it up.

  • Shawn will die in the middle of a batrep. Doing what he loves!

  • You should do more of these rambles. They are fascinating, especially when they come true.

  • These kind of videos warm my heart.

  • I think your mustache is great! I wish my wife would let me ;) Ned Flanders, or Magnum PI????

Shawn, to start your own business and actually grow! I salute you.

I and my friend are in the process of doing the same, and you are a great inspiration.

Someone commented that the Batreps are not the same without you. Well, I think we're missing the Gately enthusiasm. We were so spoilt to receive it and now that we are not getting it in the same quantities, we miss it.

    Thanks Shawn.

  • I love your rambles Shawn lol, except I couldn't help but get a forboding vibe from this that left me laughing but a little depressed inside for some reason...

  • BTP DIE HARD HERE!!!!!!!!!!

  • Shawn, I just wanted to let you know that I'm 19, and I don't watch these videos for the miniatures or because I plan to order, but I watch because of you and the people you've employed. Each and every one of you make me smile when I'm sad, and lift my spirits when I'm down. But you Shawn, do something much more, you inspire me to want more for myself, because I see you not giving up on your dreams and what you really want... I just wanted you to know that... Thank you.

  • Ambitious. But that's the way I walk too. :D

  • Blue Table Painting is the 21st century's rendition of the American Dream. We need more entrepreneurs like you, Shawn...

  • Hey hey Blue Table Fanarinos!

  • @MrBlaarghh Howdely doodely.

  • i think gamesworkshop is being relativley sucsessful because you dont get awhole lot of variety but it still looks good i have 2 i still need to paint

but i still want to order something from you guys but i still need the money lol i want it to be something awsome haha

  • One of the best vids you've done. I always love listening to your thoughts, insights and dreams. I wish you all the best in the world. :)

  • wouldnt a manifestation of rage be an evil gotee that curls at the end?

  • you are a great guy Shawn. I really respect you for what you've built up in the past few years and you deserve all the good things that happened to you... .. and I actually envy you.

  • I would love to see a 'franchise' in Europe/UK!

  • @shepharda74 Have visits to the UK for Valhalla events here. Joint RPG events! Not really played RPGs for a LONG time would love to have an event to start from new!

  • great to see Shawn back in front of the camera, he has been missed

  • love the rambles. TAKE A VACATION!

  • I for one have been watching since the beginning. Since the Necron terrain back in 2007. Shawn you've been the inspiration that's kept me in the hobby and keep me striving to achieve my life goals.

  • Those are some very nice and interesting future plans right there, wish everything comes eventually, you've reached where you are from scratch, who can stop you shawn? go for it!

  • about the battle reports i would like to see josh doing some more fantasy 8th reports he seems like he got the rules down, but maybe let him use some studio armies instead of his beloved high elves :D

and some more 40k reports by thomas

btw love the rambles gives a more personal insight

might even swing by some time if i can afford the trip

best of luck all the way from denmark:D

  • While its pleasing to see how far BTP has evolved since the beginning and I wish you the best of luck for the future, I find that the video's have lost the charm they once had. The last battle reports for example didn't do it for me. While they were technically of the same quality I missed Shawn's enthusiasm.

Furthermore there seems to be no more room for stuff like Morning shows or Sundae Mondays. BTP has grown past that point it seems, but it was just that that made it special to me.

  • @Akyro58 Just give the poeple more time to become used to the camera. Take Thomas - he seems to be rather shy to the camera. And playing a good game and bringing it on film at the same time is not that easy,

One can't handle all these things alone - let Thomas and Josh do the batreps, Janine the 'for sale' and Shawn has the time to do more morning shows again ;)

  • normally ide be all worried about it but I'm super high right now so its all cool

  • Shawn, you made so many things come true and I think that many poeple are thankful for what you do! You took the courage... and made a lot of us happy!

It's ok to take a step back from all that work and 'relax', give some of it to trusty employes - and you really got a bunch of fantastic poeple there!- because the last thing any of us needs, is to collapse under to much work.

Have some nice holidays with your family!

Get yourself some new energy and blaze us with a lot more amazing things

  • Hey Shawn, I was wondering what your views are on the recent politics that have come up: Rick Perry, Mitt Romney [in comparison to Ron Paul] and President Obama. Also if the fact that the unemployment net this month was 0 [its stagnant at 9.1% (unheard of since WWII)] has effected (or how it's effected) your area.

  • Don´t forget the T-shirts!!!

  • Shaun grow the beard, grow it long and wax it to a point :D

  • First time commenting in a BTP video even though I regularly come here for my inspiration for the day.

I saw a while back on the original Valhalla concept the pavilion tent idea and loved it. If you're interested in the whole earth, metal, wood and stone idea, and making it yourself, you should consider subterranean housing. Dig a hole, spay foam lining, furnish the interior of the bubble, cover back over with dirt. Cheap, novel, and relatively easy to do yourself. Put a tent on top, and bam!

  • Green Table Terrain ;)

  • It would be great to have a game that is open enough to accommodate any miniature you could possibly own. high fantasy + science fiction, D&D + Star Wars

  • Good stuff Shawn. Dare to dream.

  • u have a mustache

  • this is how Les does his Commission Pricing sheet on his website.

  • Good you are doing it one step at a time.

  • you should make a full tour video of the studio inside and out, would love to see it.

  • office must be slow eh dirty sanchez? Good ramble as always El captain.

  • I found your rambling to be very comforting. People who are in business for themselves can relate to what you are experiencing and I profitted from your insights. Thanks for taking the time to share.

  • Just put up part 2 of the batrep already!

  • As soon as I can afford it I'll order a titan squadron and a super heavy tank company

  • A lot of great ideas sean! I think a new website is MUCH needed!

  • The excel to be honest keeps me from ordering.

  • @TheTerrainGuy The thing is you don' t need to deal with that. Just email me and I'll handle everything.

  • gool luck with everything you want to achieve in the future!

  • Elton John walked past your window, saw your pedostash and said "Wow, thats gay"

  • Need 70's porn music in the background for the brostash growing there (bow chicka bow wow) - Long live the stash!

As to the Bat-Reps - miss your quotes through out them. "they love it."

In so far as terrain, pick a couple items per race (and many will be crossover - i.e. guard/marine/GK/Sisters/Inquisition) and make a template for it, and then produce as necessary and make them modular so they can be converted easily. They can be done in either MDF or resin/plastic for conversion.

  • "Shoulda coulda" is a bad way of viewing things, because they're not going to change. They are the way they are, and whatever you can make of them.

I look forward to more BTP, also BatReps.

  • @MrFright2010 Your wish is my command. I shall get up a Batrep for you today.

  • Looking forward to getting my army built and painted by BTP. Wish I lived in UT so I could help you guys with the website stuff

  • I love these long rambles. So lovely, you've got a sweet life right now. Hope it continues for a long time :)

  • but .... 2012 is the end of the world .... so how will you do that? xD

  • @Phile700 phile come on... seriously?

  • @Phile700 The world is ending on December 21, 2012.

  • @superbaby239 so?

  • @Phile700 Shawn has plenty of time to do stuff in 2012

  • @Phile700 2012 end of the world is a misconception of the Myan calendar. I prefer to view it as the beginning of a new cycle. Out with the old in woth the new! Gotta love optimism ;0)

  • Inspiring.

  • You've come far, I look forward to seeing these things to pass. The inconsistent vids don't matter due to your sick figs and awsome personalities.

  • you guy need to do the same as miniwargaming on a web site and a member ship with a vualt and those inportant things

  • You should sculpt your own models to go with your future game system and compete with GW!!! (while still pushing their products, along with your own) Imagine BTP among GW and Privateer press and what not.

  • I remember the old old vids of you making hills out of blue styro haha!

Its amazing how much you've progressed and i can't believe that I've been here every step over the way, I hope that this amazing journey continues 'cus after all, you're one of the main reasons most of us are still here on youtube! Thank you Shawn, from the deepest recesses of my heart!

  • Your mustache looks funny.

    HAHAHA!
