  • lol I'm cherokee indian so im excluded from racism

  • 43 people are racists. :(

  • @MrChessnuts thats not what my white girl said. your mum disagreed last night too.

  • I'm a Filipino and one American customer asked me if i was from Ireland because accdg to him i sounded Irish on the phone... LOL

  • I need to go to Korea

  • haha ur asian so you have a small one, chink

  • @MrChessnuts bquiet pollack.

  • @MrChessnuts YU can blow us cuz we chinks invented Kama Sutra....See heres the thing...even though we small we know how to please our women...thats why they leave yall white fags...we fucking rich n smart n we also freaks in bed

  • @TheLilKon If by chinks you mean the Chinese, then you are embarrassingly wrong. Try the Indians a few thousand miles to the south.

  • @MrChessnuts you too dude. really small one!

  • @regalgsme Wow, you're one of them. I mean a racist asshole.

  • It's kinda like w/ me & my family. My mother is Asian/Pacific Islander & my brother & I definitely did not look white growing up despite having a white dad. We were the only non-white in our small town that wasn't tied to the military.

I even sometimes forgot I wasn't like everyone else until a new kid would show up & ask me where I was from, lol.

I remember when we went to my mother's home country & yeah, they all look alike. You could pick out my dad, me, & my brother easy.

  • @LadyShadowDragon

Actually, now that I think about it, I remember there were a couple of little black kids with white moms, one had a white sister, too, come to think about it, and not tied to the military...I never thought it was weird because of my mix race family, it seemed normal to me, lol

  • Love you Henry..:)

  • This reminds me of one time when I pulled up to a bar at a Bennigans in Round Rock, Texas, and this young guy who looked very Asian, maybe in his 20's, pulls up next to me and said to the bartender in a thick southern accent, "Y'all got any sweet tea?" The bartender said "No", and the guy looked at me and said "What's a man got to do to find some sweet tea around here, isn't this the South too?" I looked at him and asked "Where are you from anyway?" He said "North Carolina!". Cracked me up!

  • I like this guy!

  • You sir are a contradiction lol

  • I was loading this video in the background and the whole time, I was imagining someone like Jerry Springer doing a stand up or something....

  • Asians make the best comedians.

  • I bet he talks like that because of his age, he was a kid before mass media and MTV and all that stuff. I'm guessing other Korean-American kids in Tennessee and places like that now talk like the people they see on TV or Youtube, etc.

  • @rapperpizzasupreme I reckon other Korean-American kids in Tennessee and any other kid from Tennessee talks like that.

  • I knew Henry when he was a child and to see him do his thing on stage is hysterical. Henry is proof that comedy can be CLEAN and still make you wet your pants!!!

  • Anyone else see that stupid Starburst commercial where two Koreans are dressed up like Scotsmen and they both have a thick Scottish accent? The whole point of this ad is to sell some unpleasant fruit candy but the two people in the commercial talk about their accent being a contradiction to who they are. I always thought that that was ridiculous because it was fake but Henry Cho is REAL and his whole persona on stage actually makes it funny. Great comic...very funny! :)

  • OMG HIS ACCENT AMAZING GEESH HE'S MY PERFECT HUSBAND LOL HE'S ASIAN AND HAS A COUNTRY ACCENT IF ONLY HE WERE YOUNGER T_T

  • @LAZYxYURI and only if he wasnt married

  • well i reckon so....

  • southern asian....coolness.

  • <3 Henry Cho!!!

  • holy shit! Southern accent!

  • I know how that's like. My mom, me and my brother are the only Filipinos in my predominately white hometown. The only ethnic people you get is through the military due to the Camp down the way.

We're the only ones not attached to the military.

My Dad's white so, here only the three of us stick out but when we went to the P.I. to visit, my dad stuck out!

    lol

  • "well i reckon so" , lol

  • WTF SOUTHERN ASIAN ACCENT

  • he sounds like Bush

  • This was the first video of Henry Cho I ever saw........boy was I surprised lol

  • rofl i love how some people cannot comprehend how this asian man has a southern accent.

  • @1005Shini

    lol, I know

it's like with me, I'm Filipino but according to majority people I meat, I have a British/Australian/Canadian accent even though I grew up in a small country town in Northern New York

  • he sounds like George W. Bush! Love this guy, hilarious

  • Lol this guy is the next starburst contradiction :]

  • CONTRADICTION!

  • wtf his accent lol

  • jesus h christ, all these stupid ignorant people. you gain the accent and culture of where you grow up. i'm korean and grew up in brooklyn and have a thick new york accent. get a clue, ya mooks.

  • That's whut I call a Thick Hick accent

  • BWAAhahah... this country muthafuggah would weird me the fuck out if I ever met him !

  • @DancingSpiderman Dude... I used to live in SC. Asians that grow up there... do grow up with the southern accent. I was there for like 3 years. I never got it. But, the ones that are there since they were born, man... heavy accent, know what I mean. 1 time, a southern Asian guy spoke to me, and I didn't understand a word he said. And he was speaking English... holy shit..! Took me a while to get what he was saying.

  • @dchyang haha, he was speaking English and you couldn't understand him thru his thick southern accident !! I'll have to hang out in SC sometime and find out for myself. In Los Angeles, the Asians usually hang out with their own, and so I didn't experience Asians with the various American accents. They just sounded like whatever they were, but maybe with a surfer dude sound, I guess. It's all good anyway. People gotta be what they want to be to be comfortable in their own skin. Cool dude !

  • nice..but he speaks too fast...

  • It's funny when Asians give their kids anglo names but you never see anglos giving their kids Asian names, just an observation. No matter how hard Asians try to assimilate, they will always be viewed as permanent aliens. Asians, please stop being whitewashed; just be yourselves.

  • @bobojacobo: it's funny when racist white people think the only americans are whites. just sayin. all black people must speak in an African accent or ghetto ebonics and all asians have to speak broken "Engurish"? and yes, i know quite a few whites with asian names. they live in asia and grew up in asia. i also know a chinese-american guy named Tyrone. i wish he would stop trying to be black. oh wait. Tyrone Powers was a white actor. i guess all blacks named Tyrone are trying to be white.

  • @proteuskim Tyrone is a black name dude why would a black guy named Tyrone be trying to be white? lol Chill out and stop being so damn defensive about something if a comedian says it youll laugh but it somebody on Youtube does you get all pissed off? You need to get laid dude hahaha. relax

  • @bobojacobo So you don't think it would be wierd if someone who spoke english as his first language gave his son a chinese name?

  • @bobojacobo you know whats actually funny? the fact that you think that somehow white people own certain names. names are names. and your "being whitewashed" refers to something called personality and perspective not your name or title.

  • @bobojacobo we have anglo names because you can't pronounce our names right, we don't want you people to humiliate our names since each asian name is unique and has its own meaning, unlike names like David, John, Peter etc. To make life easier for you, we get English names.

  • @holkn

David is a Hebrew name which does have a meaning, beloved. John is also Hebrew meaning God is gracious. Peter is Greek meaning rock. The fact that you think only Asian names have meanings to them is laughable. Also the fact that you stereotype those names as being English when they originated in different places. Guess what else, last names also have a meaning for Anglos, Germans, Scandinavians, Latins (not just saying Hispanics but the French, Portuguese, Italians) etc.

  • self hating, white washed uncle tom!

  • i sounded country sometimes im asian you then again all my guardians and teachers and etc. had all country accents so i picked it up at a young age.

  • Hi, Henry. I interviewed Henry for a Korean American magazine many many years ago. He was so much younger, as I was. A real nice Southern gentleman, right, Henry? Glad to know that you're still doing comedy and on stage. I really enjoyed your right-on jokes about Korea. SKim

  • why are you idiots so surprised to see a southern asian man? He don't have a southern accent so idk what yall are talking about.

  • "don't leave me, they're talking to me" LOL

  • I reckon so.

  • dang asian with country accent cool dude

  • He grew up in Knoxville, TN went to school with him at West High. Was always a little strange to here that voice coming out of his mouth. Cause when he was younger he really looked way more Korean.

  • i think my head just exploded....

  • wow his accent! cool!

  • This man is hilarious. One of the funniest comedians I’ve seen in a while.

I love southern accents but I love it even more on Mr. Cho! He has that whole southern "good ol' boy" charm. If you closed your eyes you wouldn't know a thing.

  • bahahaha no no no... This isnt an asian with a southern accent. This is a typical white southerner hiding in an asian's body. Its not just his accent, hes got the mannerism too.

  • ....they're talkin' to me....

  • Asian guy with southern accent....most epic thing ever O-O

  • @MrKevstro imagine the western... the john woo western...

  • @MrKevstro that's rare.

  • dude, clean and classy, NICE!

  • lol. my teacher let us watch this.

  • LOL, geez sometimes us white people are so insensitive when we're in foreign countries.

  • Accent & ethnicity win.

  • @jrocketfinger DEFinitely a win.

He'd so weird me out if I ever met him. I know that sounds stupid, but I WOULD be totally weirded out for a minute or two

I'd be asking him questions, just to hear his answers in that accent... DAYng...

  • 5botball - It's not a Korean accent he's doing. He's imitating a stupid white person trying to talk to who SHE thinks is Korean -- loudly and with a weird accent. She was the one adding -eee to every word, thinking it would somehow make her English easier to understand for a Korean. Doh!

  • IS THIS THE BUSSY THAT GOESSY DOWNNY TOWNNY?!!!

    I reckon so LOL!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Why does this guy have a hick accent?

  • @supatoker420 he's from nashville, Tenn.

  • @brocky

oooh, but never really knew an asian can do that haha

  • i never heard a asian with an sccent like that. odd.

  • and awesome!

  • Comment removed

  • haha i reckon so.... serves her right

  • lol

  • He sounds like Bill Engvall

  • nope

  • why is it when someone has a southern drawl, people automatically think they're from texas?

  • It seems like no one but Southern or Texan people can discern the difference between a Southern accent and a Texas one. This one sounds clearly Southern to me. But up north I guess we're all the same to them.

  • yep u are sorry bout it @_@;;

  • Because...

  • lmao doberman, could that have been a more ignorant answer?

  • Korean with a Texan accent! That's awesome. Reminds me of that Starburst commercial with the Korean speaking in a Scottish accent. :p

  • that was hilarious!

  • lmfao that was funny

  • i reckon so, lmao

  • you guys, get grip of yourself.he's just telling jokes..!!

  • i speak english.

  • look man if ur asian and live in a southern area for many many year, ull natrually speak like them. Like me:p

  • Henry was born and raised in Knoxville, Tenn. His parents are full blooded Korean. That makes him a full blooded Korean redneck! Henry is very cool. I'm from Tenn, so he talks like me and my friends. It's weird the first time you see him and then hear him talk because the voice doesn't fit the look!

  • love the accent

  • Wow, now everyone here who's trying to be all superior with the thousands of languages that they speak . . . it's just making you look immature and overly defensive.

    Funny video.

  • i know over 9000 languages

  • I learnt 476 different languages and made up 32 and i only use english cos that all anyone speaks here. spent so much time learning languages that i dont have a job or any money so i cant fly overseas to speak to people with a different language... how smart does that make me?

  • EBONICS is NOT a language...

  • technically any form of communication IS a language, even if you can't comprehend the simplicity of that fact.

  • lol..!! and nice accent btw..

  • I never know an asian can have cool southern accent like that...

  • i love him... absolutely love him, its like when people look at me and start blabbing in spanish... im like... first, im asian... second, i dont speak no asian languages... third... DOOO YOOOUUU SPEEAAAKKKA THA EEENGLEEESH??? lmao...people can be so dumb

  • I'm just a white guy, not all that dark, but a little, and I never thought I looked hispanic until I was working at a car dealership and a customer started speaking spanish to me. I just called over our only Hispanic salesman, a guy from Columbia. This video reminds me of when I was in Hong Kong, and heard the asian people speaking English. Not that strange by itself, but the accent was somewhere between asian and british. I wasn't sure I was hearing it right.

  • haha i can totally relate... its like, you stand there going "wait...what????" :P

  • It's funny because I was talking to one of my Chinese friends who grew up in Shanghai and he told me when they learned English the recordings mixed American and British accents xP, if that's not confusing I don't know what is.

  • cracker

  • What makes you think I'm a "cracker"? And by the way, I find that term as offensive as "nigger", and I don't think there is an acceptable context for either. I don't care if you agree or not, most people don't agree. I'm just making a statement.

  • Why should I be ashamed to not know Spanish? I'm not in a hispanic country, they're not my people, there are many other languages I have more interest in. And as for not trying hard enough, it just comes more naturally for some people that for others. I've tried several languages and did the best when I was surrounded by the language or had someone to practice with frequently (a little bit of spanish and japanese).

  • I totally agree about basic math. But what constitutes as "basic history" depends largely on where an individual is from, and even then, history can be broken down into many sub-categories. And language: how many languages a person does or doen't know is such a juvinile way to put yourself above them. By your definition, someone who can fix absolutely any piece of electrical or mechanical equipment, but can only speak one language is stupid.

  • i speak Urdu, English, French, Arabic, Turkish and Romanian... so there you go, so much for ur assumption that im "dumb". I have an honours degree in media and another in political sciences, and am a certified photojournalist.... so YOU sir, can kiss my dumb asian ass

  • knowledge is not the same as wisdom... if u dont want to humiliate ur self think before u comment... and calling others dumb.

  • are you 14 or something?, ok.

  • an asian with a southern draw that is funny

  • dang wish i can talk like that for awhile..could use that for a lot of stuff, lol

  • shyt he sounds like russell peter

  • no...

  • asian with a country accent XD awesome

  • oh my i love his accent.

  • that accent is soo cool - that's a true american if i ever saw one

  • @Jsminda Define "true american"

  • im I burst out laughin wen he speaked of da American girl lmfaoooooooooooooooo -in tears- <3

  • hmm those english dudes and aussie guys must be a different white....

  • he's from Knoxville,Tn, born & raised

  • mmm i guess that he grew up in the south u retard

  • no he grew up in texas dumbass

  • No dumbass he grew up in Tennessee

  • UpBeatJoker- Are you dumb, or just dense? That's like asking how someone speaks english when they're not white. How old are you really? 8? Or are you just acting like a retard to get attention?

  • wuahhaahahah dude you are focking hilarous wuhahah

  • Wow, totally dig his southern accent...but y'know it's kind of sad that a lot of the funny Korean comics (in the American style) aren't fluent in Korean when there's so much material to work with in Korean culture, not just in stereotypical asian jokes.

  • in henry's defense anyway, this is the only clip where i've seen him talk about being korean.

usually he talks about his redneck inlaws. LOL!

  • did you not hear the man say that they were th only asians in Knoxville when he was growing up

  • yeah, I heard that part. That's why I said "serious migration" because now the population is high. lol

  • seriously tho, in the last few years there has been an increase in ppl coming to the US...... but he is talking about 25 years ago.

  • He was born there, and he's almost 50. I think he's 47. 47 years ago, there weren't that many Asians in Knoxville.

  • I dont understand why my comment has stirred up this type of commotion. looking back I say nothing offensive to anyone in particular. i'm only talking about this one clip trying to find the answer to a question I posed like a month ago. the words that I write is to be clear sometimes repetitive to make sure there is no confusion in what im saying. the same language you would use when debating w/ friends ect. i dont want to get you mad i want you to understand. if there is any other way tell me

  • i hope you were joking.

  • so tell me whats sooo funny about this guy?do you think thats a good Korean accent? I really want to know. Tell me exactly

  • ok i understand you dont like his jokes or you dont get it w\e. what do you mean about his accent? the hell do you mean by do you think thats a good korean accent? he has a southern accent.

  • haha now i get it. listen to the whole thing. he says an american girl comes up to him and says that EE stuff. and he replies with "i reckson so"

  • That was an imitation of people trying to sound out english words for asians, dumbfuck.

  • um 5botball, he is imitating a WHITE woman speaking english to him.

  • are u basing your opinion on just this video? he had a comedy central special, obviously some people think he is funny. if u don't thats your opinion, go search for someone else.

  • LAWLZ. First few parts were so-so...but the last part....Ahh reckon so...what's your name?

  • is he related to margaret cho?

  • that was hilarious!

  • Oh this is rich. Glad to know I ain't alone. I'm Chinese, grew up in Richmond, VA and speak with a mild drawl too (with some ebonics thrown in for good measure).

  • and a starcraft player to boot o_0!

  • Haha, awesome accent. I reckon so, lmao.

  • Cattie is right, lol.

Atlanta, Georgia is packed with Korean Americans with southern accents.

Part of the joke is that so many always expect Asian Americans to sound like they are from California or New York only when they do speak.

  • i'm from california and i sounded like that growing up XD

i don't know if it's just laziness or what but i still slip into that accent if i'm not careful.

  • Agreed! I know a few Korean Americans in Atlanta with a drawl.

Race don't matter. When you live in the south, you'll have a drawl.

  • Don't have to think. Its pretty easy to understand.

  • Oh that's funny as hell! :D

  • LOL ~ IS THIS THE BUS-EY that GOES-EY DOWN-EY Town-EY !! aha das Hilarious ^^
