  • Got to love that hang drum music.

  • Who intentionally searches up magic acts on YouTube and makes ignorant comments about them? WTF is that? If I think something is going to bore me watching it...I DON"T FUCKING WATCH IT!!!

  • Boring?! Are you people crazy? That was incredible entertaining. It was a killer illusion that I am fairly certain anyone who commented on this video does NOT know how it was done. It was visually captivating. Close up magic is amazing and this show has demonstrated a lot of that. But what it has not shown is a really good "big" stage illusion and of them all, that was the best by a long shot! Stop pretending like magic isn't really magic...of course it's not!

  • what happened to this show? is it still on?

  • Jesus christ that was a long trick. With no payoff either.

  • Way too damn long...

  • Thanks for posting!!! Penn and Teller guess without telling a letdown BUT that holds to the magic code AND does not ruin peoples lives. VERY CLASSY. Can you tell I am a fan?

  • I read that top comment and thought surely it can't be that long. I WAS FUCKING WRONG

  • that was just like a french circus.....boring.

  • @v4lkyr That's for sure.

  • 7:48 SKIP?!?!?!?

  • You can see her feet .. its actually quite obvious. Look for shadows

  • The only explanation is that this box is a postdimentional gate.

  • will this be back on??

  • that was the slowest, most esoteric, least fun act i've ever seen! sure, it fulfilled the "how'd they do that" criteria for magic but totally failed to entertain. meh.

  • Clearly they're using their dicks to lift the box.

  • Gee I can't work it out....how they managed to make magic even more boring.

  • 5:43 I Was Expecting Some Pong To Be Played...

  • What just happened?

  • 0:00 to 9:50 DID I JUST SMOKE SALVIA 9000x

  • THIS ACT WAS FUCKING BORING

  • this should be amazing but somehow it isnt and its boring. I think the box started levitating too early, you need to build it up slowly

  • Nice Teller !

  • i got bored within the first 4 minutes and i just started fast forwarding throught the video...wtf goes on in that act, i still cant watch the whole thing

  • The girl did all the tricks, and she was pole-dancing, that's why all the magics happened only when the pole was behind the floating box, or when the taller guy was behind it (the girl wrapped her legs around his waist). More like an acrobat.

  • @tonyptchu99 I can assure you she was not pole dancing.

  • @tonyptchu99 that's what I was thinking... but it was still damn good

  • @tonyptchu99 nope she didn't.

  • It left me stupifide!

  • that Teller, is a fuking boss

  • Wake me up when it's over...

  • the only thing that saved me from fast forwarding the box routine is the cool music lol.

  • I think the girl is just holding herself up by wrapping her legs around the pole. And then later around the dark haired guy's waist. The way acrobats do.

  • @GrandMasterK2000 yeah, the fact that the box never "floated" without something behind it is the biggest clue.

  • @willyolio This is my stab in the dark: magnets. Maybe the 8 corners or maybe even the 12 sides of the box were magnets and there were 4 electro-magnets in the base with a guide electro-magnet in the pole. Using 2 PLCs [programmable logic controller], a few relays & a large battery, I think this could be done. Using the PLC, you can time it almost perfectly. Remember their arms going up with the box? Though I might be guessing this because I have an electronics engineering hobby.

  • For this kinds of acts that require a great deal of technical work "TELLER" is the best, it kind of reminded me of his "Shadow Illusion" (which can be seen in the suggested videos) same principle but different application?? mmm... i have no fucking idea how they did it :S

  • Teller is a f*cking boss.

  • Quote from se7en;"What's in the box?!?!!"

  • That routine was so french, and i don't know what i mean by that.

  • :O

  • i even think the begginings amazing xD

  • That was the craziest thing I have ever seen, how the hell is it floating like that....with a person inside it!?

  • wtf is christian bale doing there

  • The ending of the first act would have been even better if when the lights came back on, they had their original suits back on :) The music was epic aswell, I couldn't figure out what the fuck was going on until the box started to float.

  • When they move the lamp post into place the woman fixes a horizontal pole into it through the far side of the cube. She then uses this as a platform to sit on and moves the cube around her. That's why the cube moves in all ways except for rotating around its vertical axis, which it can't do because of the horizontal pole (you can even see its shadow 4:15). When the lamp post is moved away the horizontal support must fix to the dark haired guy in a similar way (though he must be very strong!)

  • @chainedtotheworld back support perhaps?

  • I loved it when the color changed on their suits.

And the way the guy put his suspenders on. Very classy.

  • 03:09 for the 1st performance

  • she is using the lamp to "float"

  • @Seriath1 Or the one guy when they take the lamp away, he stands behind the box the whole time so she could use him instead.

  • I believe magnets are involved in the box floating.

  • i dont know how that almost fooled them!?

this illusionis been done many time its just alittle updated!

    but it was really good!

  • Note: The first time they lift one corner of the box the lamp post is wiggling slightly. :-)

  • thumbs if your practicing a magic trick while watching this!

  • Teller was perfect for a response to that act because there are No Words.

  • WOW! Brilliant, I don't tend to like illusions but this one I really thinks is good!

  • What Teller had written on the paper was the word "Physics" with a line through it; seriously, that was incredible.

  • anyone know if this still comes on? and if so what channel is it in the US?

  • Isn't this season 1? Why do they say he returned? Same with the last episode, one of the guys came back? Was there a previous show that was different from this? or a previous season?

  • it is always teller how figures out the illusions.. penn is a dumb a** only busts card tricks that he already knows about

  • this is just amazing!

  • Just some helpful time points - 02:09 - performer introduction ; 02:57 - Jonathan's introduction and the actual trick.

  • Wow. Teller is a genius!

  • @wilsonseto1 ya teller is the magic of penn and teller

  • Look people, either post your admiration or your dismay, but please don't ruin the tricks for others. Most of the time you're wrong and you look like a fool, the rest of the time you're being disrespectful of the craft.

  • I don't see what part of this could possibly have fooled Penn. She's a gymnast, she's holding onto the pole, then later she's holding onto him.

  • She's strapped to some apparatus holding her up that's cleverly concealed by use of the pole and the guy's legs.

  • Wow teller is amazing if he can discern which trick that is with just swing it once

  • That was incredible.

  • can someone explain 5:05 where he grabs the ball through the fabric?

  • @hansmelb he dosent grab it through the fabric, he had the ball in his hand already. Is my guess.

  • @hansmelb He palms it,thats the SIMPLE part lol

  • @hansmelb

ALREADY HAD THE BALL IN HIS HAND.. ITS JUST TIMING

  • Thanks for uploading dude, You the man.

  • I cant stop watching - Kudos to all those who worked out she was a pole contortionist - makes sense, she is tiny and she has agility.

  • I didn't want it to end.

  • This box routine feels like it's been going on an hour and I'm not even sure what the trick is...the whole stage is dark, there's a billion ways the frigging box can be floating...and yet it feels like this will never end.

  • @EGarrett01 thats what hell is like

  • @EGarrett01 A million ways huh?... yes a million ways Penn could not figgure out xD really think you can solve it? Dont think so.

  • By rig and rigging i ment a strong metal pipe or something along those lines. Look up that levitating guy from india floating with his hand resting on a walking stick. That's the basic principal, i believe, this trick used to acomplish this paticular illusion. Very original use of that principal though. I'd still wont them in my show, if i had one.

by the way how many of you guys posting are actually magicians? just curious. i dont know any other magicians anywher where i live.Thanx.

  • @enigma12889 I'm a mentalist. :)

  • When the box is floating you see the shadow of the pole with no leg shadow. My guess, since the box never leaves the table and it never goes more then about a foot up give or take, she's sitting indian style on a small elevated platform the has a supporting rigging. the rig attaches from behind her platform and wraps around (so someone can stand directly behind the box) and then the rig goes down behind the pole/magicain, until it makes another half circle or unfineshed square back to the table.

  • I think the box trick had to do with acrobatics. The woman is either wrapping her legs around the pole, or wrapping them around the guy.

  • Dude, seriously, thank you for the uploads!

  • anyone know what song they using?

  • Teller is a genius! he is always overlooked!

  • @valfitness He makes people overlook him. Silence is golden.

  • just me who found that boring? dont know if it is like this, but my guess would be that when she is "floating" she actually is just climbing the pole (and when they remove that you can see the guy is bending his knees abit so she can stand there) dont know if that's correct but it seems like it because i cant see her 'floating' when there is nothing behind her.

  • teller looked astounded, but he still got it right... that lucky bastard >.<

  • I'd pay $1 million for that shredded paper.

  • @marvelfett2

She's a contortionist who sticks her legs out the back of the box. She wraps them around the pull, and jimmies herself around.

Honestly the host gave it away by saying "that's filfthy".

  • @LolCaramelz That solution sounds good, but what about at 7:28 when shown from above, with no pole and no legs sticking out from behind or around the back guy, and the box is still levitating?

  • @hawaiidispenser

I honestly believe that she's using the two men as anchors.

Notice the box never floats and moves when there isn't a proper anchor behind it.

  • @hawaiidispenser It's an off-angle shot. They cut away before you see what's between the dude and the box.

  • loving tellers spin on the spot walk up to his chair there :P

  • That act took for-fucking-ever...

  • That really was a fantastic act.

  • I'd pick Penn first for sports, dude is like 7 feet tall

  • @SpartanCarver he is 6.7 actually

  • Yay! So happy we can get snippets on this side of the pond! Thanks pikespeak12.

  • This act would have been amazing on Vegas.

  • s=does anyone know the name of that illusion?

    thankyou

  • @magocarlosian cubic act, in french it's called parenthese cubique (or something like that)

  • Anyone know the tune used in this act?

  • Billiant! - Super performance! Well Done guys! Awesome!

  • Magnets?

  • Damn that Teller for being so good at this stuff :D

  • phenomenal!!!!

  • wow! one of the best illusions ive ever seen! amazing!

  • failed previous comment by me xD

  • I love this show, we hardly get any Penn & Teller here in the UK ... thank goodness for YouTube!! dly get any Penn & Teller here in the UK . . . thank goodness for YouTube!! :D

  • Any more episodes coming. This is brilliant!

  • Best act I've seen yet on the show. Amazing.

  • very nice

  • I'd say they should do a series like this back in the US, but I'm worried that doing so would ruin the idea for television.

  • Thx for uploading! Now I know what to do the next hour!

  • well what about when they moves the pole away from the box?????/

  • the girl is incredibly acrobatic, she uses the pole to hold herself up and attaches constraints to herself inside the box to move it around, all the shit with the balls is just giving her time to move around in the box and change positions for whats next. you can see the pole wobble at times, that is her getting a firm grip on it. the part that really sells the trick is when he goes behind the box and she sticks her head out the top. these guys are probably ex-circus performers turned magicians.

  • Incredible

  • I really like the show. thanks for upping :)

  • The fifth REGULAR episode? Is there any other kind?

  • @stijnhommes The show wasn't originally commissioned as a series. They did a 90 min. special first, and ordered a series later due to the fact that they realized the show was a brilliant idea. :) If you count the special this is the 6th episode.

  • @pikespeak12 I bet Simon Cowell is going to try to take credit for the program.

  • @stijnhommes

    pwned!!

  • Thanks for the post. This is my favourite new show aswel!

  • Well they fooled Penn and everyone else, that should be good enough. Either way that was amazing.

  • thank you :D

  • tthanks so much for the fast upload but now i neeeeeeed the other parts asap aswell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im freaking addicted to those 2

  • @McDjabba Alas, my computer only works so quickly. You'll have to be patient. :)

  • @pikespeak12 if you want, you can set the uploads to not publish the videos once posted. then, you can edit them to be public once they're all up. Anyways. thanks for uploading these. It's my new favorite show.
