  • Awesome job by these guys. It makes me projectile vomit that Kemp's ridleys are being suffocated by oil right now.

    We've gone too far. We use way too much petroleum. These magnificent creatures pay the price. So will all of us at some point.

  • When I was there about 22 yrs ago...I saw the Turtle Lady..she was so sweet and helped the turtles out alot! I have been to SPI many times. Its my second home. It was much nicer back then, quiet and a lot more natural beauty. I miss it :(

  • The U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service and Sea Turtle Inc. expect to release hatchlings between July 5-11 and July 22-29. Turtle releases will be held in front of the Suntide III condominium on South Padre Island at 7a.m. To confirm a release will occur, call Sea Turtle Inc. at (956) 761-4511.
