Jigen was based off of James Colburn from "The Magnificent Seven'. Also, Lupin's original voice, the late Yasuo Yamada, was the Japanese voice of Clint Eastwood.

There's actually like 5 seasons of Lupin III, a manga (but like 3 volumes I think), and about 10 movies, including Castle of Cagliostro, made by Studio Ghibli (i think). Too bad it's not really popular anymore, what we have now is like Naruto, YuGiOh, bleach, one piece...

Since there's an graphic novel of Lupin the 3rd, an anime series, a couple of anime movies, and a video game, I don't see why not there can't be an American version of Lupin the 3rd. There should be another Lupin the 3rd movie but live action
