Harmonica is Mick Jagger, one of the best players in the world IMHO. Keith Richards said in an interview that you are seeing the purest and most unadulterated form of Jagger when he plays the harmonica.
How this signature Stones song flew under the mainstream radar is beyond me. It very well may be their best effort to date. Has it all going on to perfection.
This is a Awesome song The Rolling Stones nail this song I wish we had the Video to this song Its Awesome The women in this video make your hart pound hard!!!!!!
Sounds like Jagger had gotten over his disco tendencies by this time, and had returned, at least to some extent, to his roots -- it seems that when popular musical sensibilities change, bands try to go along and adopt the new sound, lest they become irrelevant -- like Rush went synth, and the Stones tried some disco numbers -- but this is a great cut, Jagger's harp work is nice
is it Ron Wood on bass/harmonica? sounds fantastic, it's really eternal music.. The Rolling Stones have so many songs that would have been HITS for lesser known bands, but are underrated... because the Rolling Stones are competing against themselves for the past 15 years, ( because there's really no true rock bands anymore ...)
@MultiAslak No, I'm serious, it's Jagger on harmonica, he is credited for this song as "vocals, harmonica and maracas". It's written in the Voodoo Lounge booklet.
The first song I heard from them with their new producer "Don Was". The production was rich, and had a true sense of quality. Seductive, and as well actually semi-scary thematically. Has a Jack The Ripper type feel.... is he simply wanting to have have sex with her?.. or is he a killer seductively stalking his prey as well?. It can be taken as either, or ...both. Jagger's vocals through the harmonica mic, Jones full low end bass, Richard's raw groove, and Charlie as steady as ever. Only them..
I first saw the video for this song while watching Beavis And Butthead with my dad when I was 9 or 10. I thought the Stones were a new band, 'til dad educated me.
Excellent control, that's Mick Jagger. Riffmeister Keith playing another role, pulling Ronnie and he pushing exactly. Love is strong, and someday Charlie, we gotta meet! I love living legends, I love you tube, I love Rock 'n' Roll! Music and Technology, they make a beautiful team!
i say this is one of my favorits. of the the rolling stones
