  • great layout man....i love the orange BNSF diesels better than Santa Fe and others.....just look more appealing

  • this video is cutting :(

  • you have an awesome layout! nice race between amtrak trains haha. what kind of camera did you use?

  • Great job! You did really awesome job, can tell you are quite serious about your layout. Wish I had you around when I did my layouts back in the late 80's! Great!

  • That was fun!!!

  • i have a n scale lay out but its alot smaller =(

  • Great layout, wow!!

  • never knew N scale could look so 1:1.....

  • slow it down for more realism.

  • Wow, it look so real.

  • A big thumbs up on this nicely done video! Cool perspective from a cab view. The layout looks like an award winner with the beautiful scenery work.

  • Wow I was sure it was HO scale. Looks pretty good for N scale. Really sensitive acceleration and deceleration!

  • you can put a fpv cam on a train i know

you can put it on a r/c car or truck or plane

an boat but on a train

  • Code 83 track would have looked more to scale.

  • Thanks, It took about 8 months to get it up and running. I have since moved to another home and it's now being rebuilt as a single level. I hope to get a new video up soon.

  • @Crashz9 What was it like moving to a new home and having to tear down the old layout? I guess you can salvage much of the trains, track, and buildings but that wonderful scenery you built! I am building a small N scale trolley layout but I am afraid to get too much invested in it regarding time, money, and emotion. I wonder if I should just go for it and worry about that day when it comes. Thanks for posting.

  • @BurningtunaDC Wasn't to bad as I have plans for improving it. The layout was built sorta sectional so most of it is still like it was but sitting in my rafters up in my garage. The garden RR has my attention now until my kids move out and then ill take over a room with the N-scale again...just going to be a few more years but it will be going again as I have been collecting in the mean time :-).

  • That layout is awesome man! How long did it take u to build it?

  • How fun!

Next time head into a mirror so that we can see how you did this.

Is N scale half HO scale?

    Thank you.

  • as the train roared across the land, they came upon a land without any color!!!! no brown in the mountains, no green in the grass, just white. The passengers inside started to worry. lol thats an awesome layout!!!

  • lol...that was good.

  • there in the middle of salt flats lol :-)

  • Awesome vid, I love N scale!

I just rode across the continent aboard Superliners a few weeks ago, seeing them on your layout I was imagining myself in the windows looking out at the camera, ha!

  • I'm HO, but I had no idea N was so detailed! Please tell us what cam did you use and how much was it. Also is real time vid feed to a monitor or store.

  • yeah it's fun to drive by the video feed. Layout is in my garage and the monitor is in another room. I'm thinking of doing a layout that is for video driving only. Drive trains around from the engineers seat just need to finish the signaling first.

I get most of my video gear from HobbyWireless (dot) com.

  • I went to a Kato outlet in Japan and it was awesome what they had on display.

You forgot that Tomix isn't bad either....and they have the sweet train cam too.

Sweet layout, but the trackwork needs a bit of work, it's banged out too fast maybe, but the modeling is nice.

    Great post.

  • Kato outlet..man your lucky. Track keeps deforming from the weather changes. Maybe a steel layout next time... lol

  • I love the way the Superliner vehicles look.

  • Awesome work man!

  • Very cool vid man!!! I definitely enjoyed it!!!

  • very impressive! I remember the good ole days playin with the H-O scale set in the basement

  • Who's your favorite manufacturer? (Kato, Atlas, etc.)

  • Kato is my favorite and older atlas are great also. Don't use anything other then Kato/Atlas exept the Metro Link train that's Athern.

  • Kato is my favorite too.

  • that is impressive. Is it a club layout?

  • No, but couple of buddies come by on rainy day's to help clean track and run trains.

  • Gorgeous BNSF road colors, I took pictures of the real SD70's in Nebraska, Iowa and Kansas.

Used to belong to an N scale railroad club too

This is a fantastic model railroad!

  • Awesome Layout!

  • i like how you did first person view on your video

  • amazing!

  • I NEED HELP... What do i need for my DCC train. What do i need for a DCC ready train?

  • You would need to go to your local hobby shop or online store and purchase a DCC system. Its a small chip that plugs into the DCC plug in, inside your locomotive.

  • where'd you get the BNSF engines??? i cant find any.

pause at 1:11, great shot of two engines!

  • nice track keep up good work!

  • 5 Stars and Favorited! Beautiful video!

  • Someone please tell me what kind of camera or set up this is. I have n scale too, and would love to have a camera on board... just to see what my empire looks like from the track view. I remember a company made HO scale engines with a camera, but the picture was B&W and not clear. This video in N Scale is pretty clear and in color. Perhaps a website? Anyone? Thanks!

  • I use HobbyWireless(dot)com for all my N-scale and RC plane video gear. Put the gear on a flat car in front of the loco. Have fun.

  • i loved it 5 starz

  • lol n scale is so fucking small the rails are only a few millimetres apart lol its so fucking tiny! i have HO scale its easier to use but takes up more space

  • I have N.

  • wow, that one BIG house!

  • Yeah, this guy is LUCKY!

  • Love the camera in the locomotive. Awesome layout, sound and cool video.

  • that is pretty kick ass i hope you know

  • very cool, good luck on future projects.

  • Nice vid with the adjacent rail train doing the filming of the passenger train.

  • Awsome action on N scale

  • hand laid switches/

    kool layout it`s amazing

  • Wow!! love that train mounted camera.... what a view!! Makes it really look real...

  • Very nice, I need to get me a mini camera now, thanks for the inspiration. oh and nice Ontario Northland boxcar !

  • Whouhou I love it, this is so nice with the camera into the train :D. The scenery is great

  • OMG that is such a cool layout! I love the scenery and I liked the train drivers view of the layout! But that must be one heck of a small camera since its N scale, what kind of camera is that?

  • Thanks, It's an eBay cheapy 2.4ghz wireless system with the camera/battery on a flat car infront of the loco.

  • Oh cool, thanks for replying! :)

  • What brand is it? Also I like the song you used too, whats the song name?

  • Scuttle Buttin', by Stevie Ray Vaughn

  • Thanks. I have the same one!! Great video!!

  • That sound is a SOUND STATION 312 right??? I have the same one.

  • Yep you got it, good ears.

  • i like sound station 77 more

  • awesome layout mate.. thanks for the ride :D

  • Excellent! Congratulation!

  • molto bello bravo

  • Very Nice, I'm oh so envious. I'll never have a railroad like that, but thanks for sharing the video. At least I can view it whenever I want to see a real model railroad.

  • men is like real life freaking awsome!! men!! super cool!

  • cool vid.

and well done for not washing the vid out with loud music over the loco ;-)

  • how do you blow your horn

  • Excellent stuff! I'd love a little cam for my N scale... but I've yet to get the DCC !! I see you "walled" your tunnels too... ;-)

No good showing anyone a layout's undergarments!!

  • Thanks, Yeah and it keeps my trains from falling to the floor if there a derailment in there.

  • Awesome, Awesome, Awesome!

  • Thank you, Now that winters coming I'll have more time to work on it and make a new video.

  • Awesome set dude!

  • FOR N SCALE THAT IS VERY NICE!

  • Outstanding, it was a joy to watch.

  • your layout is awesome!

  • How much surface area is that?

  • It's a double decker layout in a room next to my garage 10x19 and takes the train 15min to complete one time around.

  • That was way cool!

  • AMAZING

  • That was amazing! It's so detailed, that it doesn't even look like N scale. I love it! :D

  • the best I have seen!!

Was it hard making the senery?

  • Not to bad making it. It's mostly plaster over card board webbing then chalk for ground colors. I have alot more done since the video and when I can I'll post a new one.

  • AMAZING XD NICE VID

  • Great vid, I need to borrow your camera to take vid of my layout.

  • Phenomenal n-scale footage, it's just like being on the loco and train, sort of feels like that sometimes on real trackage beings some railroads don't like to maintain their right-of-way, thanks for the vid.

  • My favorite N scale video!

  • Wow, this is an awesome layout and I love the camera angle. What type of camera did you use to film this video? I've been wanting to get one but haven't heard much about any cameras yet and maybe you could recommend one! Thanks!

  • Nice this definitly went into my favorties!

  • Nice SRV add.

  • YES,'m the first to comment on this video,it's going into my favs! Say you're an amtrak and BNSF FAN? I just recently started liking Amtrak, and say wonna watch my video? Oh,by the way,NICE VIDEO!
