  • I first heard for this song this morning and now I just can't stop to listent it. It hits your soul

  • What concert is this footage from?

  • So tenderless... <3

  • This is so beautiful, perfect video too.

  • Thom plays whatever he wants at the intro xP. Trolls the bass xD

  • wow

  • Oui cette chanson est la plus belle du monde, mais savez de qu'elle live est tiré la partie de la vidéo ou l'on voit Thom chanter?

  • just...

    *cries*

  • Watching Thom Yorke perform is the most intense thing ever. It's just so beautiful to see him lose himself in the music

  • Every piece of Radiohead music is like a lump of clay at the release, who is slowly molded in the following years into a ever increasingly beautiful piece. They reinvent their own songs in a way that one can only stare in awe... and love.

  • fottuto capolavoro!!!!

  • beautiful

  • OMG this is amazing.

  • just listen to it love it take it in don't argue about your individual bullshit thats what is splitting you apart from reality this man made the song out of heart enjoy the little things you have in life.

  • @TheTesseract123 I'm lonely, but there is no link between these two things, that's bullshit. The "we" is for all Radiohead fans. If you don't like this song, it's all right, you can even say it in the comments (Not like a kid, be polite and show respect). But don't insult people that like it, that's just fucking immature.

  • @TheTesseract123 Fuck you kid, we don't want you there.

  • Blows the album version out of the water...unbelieveable...

  • I would pick this song as the official anthem for the occupy wall street movement here in the USA

  • @eddgiles I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING

  • Best Radiohead song yet? Definitely up there if not...

  • @goodgodyou It's not that they have it when others don't, it's that they are so fucking ungrateful for everything they own, and so ignorant of those that will die because they can't even have a glass of water.

  • This song has so much emotions! See my COVER in my videos if you wish!

I've done B-sides piano covers such as fog(again) and How I made millions...

    precious gems of radiohead

  • radiohead its like water if you dont drink youll die

  • This gives me shivers. It's so intense I nearly had to pause it at the start and recover.

  • Those cheering at the end of this video are among the luckiest individuals on the planet. This song, particularly this live version, reveals man's greed in perfect detail. Western civilisation is a disgrace, and this is obvious to anybody even in their own homes - to see such massive spending on supposed necessities like plasma-screen televisions and central heating, when these not only insult those who are starving due to their lack of money, most are also destroying the world. Fuck you all.

  • Are there any singers who could possibly do sing to my instrumental version of this? /watch?v=nFojvhm0uW4

  • My second favourite live version. In 2003 radiohead cancelled their second show in Australia, which was going to be simulcast on the radio. I was poised with a cassette player - instead they played a special BBC live set I've never heard anywhere else. It has a jaw-dropping version of this song. I think Thom's voice is a bit shit in this version, how can I not love it though, I'm a radiohead tragic...

  • Great song, slightly simpering vid tho really

  • Such a beautiful song.

  • Our bodies floating down the muddy river

  • Hutch :D

  • Fuck Hutch

  • Hutch sent Me :D

  • @MiwkyTV Did Hutch like the video or something?

  • Hutch :D

  • HUTCHIEPOOO

  • They are like a Salvador Dali or Picasso of music, like everytime you listen to them you hear beautiful melodies that you havn't heard before, like when you look at one of the artists paintings...... they are truly masters of their craft, just beautiful!

  • Good video . . . dougie in austin . . .

  • this song gives me such extreme chills its somewhat scary

  • Song is awesome. Video is simpering infantile pap.

  • How not to love this song.... How not to love this band?

  • wow, what a powerful song

  • Ever wonder if your just reading into something too much?

  • Cette video montre au monde qu'il est temps de changer notre comportement vis a vis de nos freres etres humains, d'arreter d'etre égoiste et de nous respecter!!! Avec les paroles de radio head, c'est sublime!!!

  • I usually don't comment videos on youtube, but I have to say that this is the most beautiful song in the world.

  • @unfaithful36 : yes it is the most beautiful song of the world, I love radiohead and Tom, do you know this song? "A magic music, a magic voice!"

  • @unfaithful36 Analyse de Thom

  • I see the stills (of the band members) as them--showing themselves--as identifying with the hardship of the people portrayed in the video. This is the least self-absorbed band I know folks. They give away their music. Listen to their inspiration.

GOD I am grateful for their music!

  • 110.000

  • is it wrong that this song brings tears to my eyes?

  • @Rushingclass not at all. ive come pretty damn close to it as well.

  • sounds like dogshit on a plate

  • Comment removed

  • such a legendary song but an awful video this one, so mainstream liberal

  • The images are from the movie the constant gardener edited with pics of THE best band in the universe!!!!

  • @jibblychupos WRONG! Perhaps Muse ripped this song off of Radiohead...especially since both Amnesiac (the album that released "Like Spinning Plates") and The I Might Be Wrong Live Recordings (the album with this exact version of "Like Spinning Plates") were both released in 2001 and the album Absolution by Muse was released in 2003. Based off this, I would like to know where you got your information from...

  • @akazda I get my information from my own ears buddy. That's all the proof I need.

  • This song is a rip off of Muse's Ruled By Secrecy

  • @jibblychupos

You sir, are a complete and utter fool.

  • I dont think this video sucks....if you are too dumb to notice the fact that its more about the feeling you get when you watch it then just the fuckin band that's on you. LOL.

  • Radiohead is just the most beautiful sound ever

  • E A R G A S M

  • Worst video since metal hair ones.

  • @Dnava28 then go back to justin bieber, no one is stopping you...

  • @usernamesaregay222 Oh yes, I simply love Justin Bieber. Don't you? Look up in my favorites, it's plenty of his videos! Much better than this boring song, don't you think?

  • fuck you guys, i think the video is great.

  • The harrowing sounds of the piano and Thom's voice are able to capture the despiration in a way that just beats the album version. Brilliance!

This is my second favorite Radiohead song, second to Street Spirit.

  • Why can't I get this out o f my head....

  • @totai well you shouldn't.

  • This song make me so happy and so sad at the same time. Great feeling.

  • this is just... so freakin beautiful...

  • i dont liek the video...

  • I liked the video.

  • meraviglioso ...

  • @WrapMee Could you tell where is the live version from? from which concert?

  • I love this track, the live version. If you dig piano songs, youtube "Melody" by Red Eyed Robot.

  • Does anybody have the piano notes? Its so amazing :) Love it <3

  • I did my own tribute to this exact version. I recorded keys, synth, strings, and vocals to my own video. what do you think? look up spinning plates mermaid. :)

  • What is so wrong about the video?

  • Newcomingmusic your so totally right. RH4LIFE :)

  • Breathtaking... so sad.

I have no idea how anybody can NOT like Radiohead

  • "While you make pretty speeches,

    I'm being cut to shreds

You feed me to the lions,

    a delicate balance

And this just feels like spinning plates

I'm living in cloud cuckoo land

And this just feels like spinning plates

My body is floating down the muddy river "

  • our bodies*

  • the video is perfect and really allows a connection to the song.

  • "The Constant Gardener". Seriously recommended. it´s an excellent movie whose message talks about capitalism.

    Brilliant and touching song too.

    Goes to favourites.

  • perfect song, perfect video, dont matter what the real reason was, is so fucking meaningful

  • I thought everyone was just being harsh till i watched it, now i agree. Love the song, video stinks. I like all the parts that are about the art, and hate the parts that promote the artist, coulda cut those out and made it more serious. Instead, it feels like a 3:48 long commercial.

  • I can see your perspective, but he IS the singer.

I understand that if the poignancy of the video is to showcase world hunger and poverty, that it should be based solely on frames depicting the meaning of the lyrics. Nonetheless, I find this song a great one with our without the video.

    -H-

  • @LMMEjsmith

The purpose of the live parts were to make a contrast of the art (that depicts some kind of resignation/acceptance of the world hunger and inequalities ) with the desperate hope ,reaction , non-resignation ,when Thom Yorke sings.

I agree on the stills tho, doesn't add much to the video and make it looks like a commercial.

  • OMG are you completely fuckin stupid. HE WROTE THE BLOODY SONG!!! Its hardly a surreptitious irrelevance is it?

  • @1madaboutguitar well, you're certainly welcome to your opinion. it's been 7 months since i wrote that and had forgotten what the video was like so i watched it again and had the same reaction. By the way, i'm a tad confused with your use of "surreptitious". Anyway, i never said that the stills were irrelevant, but that they made it less serious. BTW, WrapMee already responded to my comment, and even he agreed with me that those specific parts look like a commercial.

  • @LMMEjsmith I said surreptitious because I thought you were inferring they were sneakily putting them in their like you would a subliminal etc...

Please dont take my comment too seriously I was part joking.

  • @LMMEjsmith the images are from the movie »the constant gardener» not a commercial at all... anyway, unnecessary association, true!

  • @LMMEjsmith get over it? its a usic video and they dont have to follow any rules thats what music videos are about

  • @masterassasn get over what? i wish youtube would change their forum setup, it's confusing as heck to figure out which comments people are responding to. Anyway, point is, i love the song, the video is a good effort, and i've moved on. Thanks for your interest.

  • the song is perfect..

the video make it a shit.

  • Silence in the words.... Perfect video...

  • Hate the video. Love the tune.

  • i do absolutely agree with you. I "need" a piano studio version. This is my f****ng favourite song ever

  • I want to see a studio version with a piano, rather than whatever was used in the original version.

  • I think you are not alone and for his solo album that sound x10 better live than it did in the studio

  • I'd like to see the studio version in a live setting lol

  • very touching... I am in the process of learning this peice on piano. Its not as hard as it looks its just rhythm. Wish me good luck

  • Hmm, haha. Good luck(: It is rather simple once you get the basic chord progressions and rhythm down.

    Inspirational video, well done.

  • Yeah, the chords are fairly straightforward, but the rythmn and sequence is a tad tricky. Bare in mind Thom wrote this around the same time he wrote "Pyramid Song", a song he said was an obsession with the black keys on a piano.

  • Hrmm.. Pyramid Song is more like an obsession with the F#.

  • the album version gives me more goosebumps. but this is one of my most favourite songs ever

  • haha, at 0:44 some guy in the crowd realizes what song it is. exciting

  • Like on this song...this glorious melody you hear here was taken from a live version debuted one night in Cleveland Ohio...but on the album version, it's hiding behind a jagged wall of cold, twisted production...they're like the Pixies...they actually leave a lot of the glory of their songs hiding in flecks and shadows in the recorded versions. Meanwhile, this otherwordly melody was hiding in plain sight the whole time. These guys are the least obvious band on earth.

  • @Mistwaters I actually love the haunting sounds of the album version

  • @Mistwaters Wow it feels great to have someone share the same idea. This is true we can find a lot of this in their music. This could be why we can listen to their song again and again and getting different feelings.I believe its the same as life. We don't know what, why, who, when actually but we are riding the wave and this reflect in their songs. So thanks Radiohead for being a true artist.

  • Radiohead have to be the most tasteful band on earth.

Ya ever notice how nothing on their songs is overdone?

People wonder why I say Radiohead is infinitely more talented than Muse even though they use similar chords...well it's not only because Muse stole their sound from Radiohead's mid to late 90's sound.

It's more because Muse takes a nice melody and tries to wring every last ounce of attention to it that they can. Radiohead finds a melody twice as gorgeous, and UNDERstates it.

  • If I could give you a hundred thumbs up I would. You never want the song to end, because they tease you with so little. There's so much variance in greatness that you can't capture it all in one, two, or a hundred listens.

  • @Mistwaters I love Radiohead and they far exceed Muse, but I wouldn't say they "stole" their sound. They've marked Radiohead as an influence but I think they are quite original in most of their work. The parallels are evident here and there but I wouldn't so much as say they "stole" the Radiohead sound. Just my opinion

  • @Mistwaters

Been a long time since you wrote it, however i wouldn't say Muse stole off Radiohead. The Bends & the falsetto used on it has influenced ALOT of bands, its one of the biggest albums of the 90s that just went completely off course from what was being done at the time (others being Nirvana-Nevermind & RHCP-Blood Sugar)

Muse state radiohead as a big influence & you can hear that, similar with the queen influence. At least you can hear their influences in their music yet keep original

  • @Mistwaters i do agree that Radiohead are tasteful. But the way Muse go 'over the top' is deliberate and is what makes them spectacular live.

The piano in this is beautiful, like the piano in Ruled by Secrecy by muse.

  • @Mistwaters And that's what makes Muse so powerful live. I love both bands and they're so similar genre and sound wise, but on complete opposite ends of the spectrum for performance. Radiohead just want to be your mates, whilst Muse go "LOOK AT US!!! WE ARE KINGS!!!" and that's why they rock so many peoples socks.

As for the "stole their sound" have you ever heard of the word inspiration? I agree Showbiz has the same tones as RHs work during that time, but listen to Origin of Symmetry please.

  • @Mistwaters I believe many prefer muse a lot moreas their more happy and energetic tones. I love both, I even prefer radiohead. But I am not going to say radiohead are better musicians because that's pretty much subjective :3

  • @swedenxtrem I don't even understand the muse and radiohead comparison, especially post-The Bends Radiohead :/.

  • @Mistwaters I notice you go out of your way to put Muse down. You sound very insecure.

  • This is better than the album version. I don't know if i'll get a thumbs down for that comment. I love both versions but if this was on the album, it would be one of my favourite Radiohead songs.

  • no it isdefinitely called like spinning plates

  • the song isnt called like spinning plates, only spinning plates

  • its called like spinning plates?! you must have the illegal version...

  • No. That's the name of the song.

    It's I Wish in reverse.

  • Its 'I Will', not 'I Wish'. Thought I'd say that :P

This is my favourite song. Ever.

  • God you ruin this music video by putting those stills in there. You have no clue... LESS IS MORE.

  • Better intro on this one !!

  • Truly a beautiful song!

  • strongly powerful.

  • Great video!!! What is the name of the movie?

  • constant gardener

  • Thanx

  • you're welcome.

  • I really think this song refers to the people (democracy) as a whole and also about the poilitical system...not doing a damn thing

  • It's a damn shame. This song puts it all into perspective.

  • Thanks for sharing. Radiohead has so many great songs.

  • Was 99% perfect...I thought the stills were kind of cheesy, though. No offense. Loved it. (:

  • Even better then the recorded version

  • My favorite song ever.... thanks for uploading

  • its... absolutely breathtaking...

  • good work! The images had perfect sync with the tone of the music.

  • :,(

  • Draws me to such woe. Completely moving though!! couldn't help filling with tears.

  • Wow, nice song.. I love the scenario where the kid stand with his dog.. :D

  • love it

  • this is amazing

  • perhaps this was answered in a previous comment, if so i apologize, but where did you get this song? Is it on an ep or anything released?

  • I got it from the album :

"I Might Be Wrong: Live Recordings"

  • Yes, me too and that's one hell of an album!

  • like spinning plates live>like spinning plates studio version

  • very much so

  • Thom is a genius...by the way he 'spiritually' puts his point across!

  • This song is the most wonderfull song I have ever heard

  • wonderful

  • i don't like the studio version but this version is awesome and the video is very creative.

    five stars mate!!!!!!!

  • this video is brilliant.

  • I want this video so bad in my iPod, is there some way I can get it?

  • You're itunes has to be updated though but if you get a video downloader you can put the video on your ipod. I have

  • get realplayer its free, then you can download this video by hovering over it, then simply transfer thefile to your ipod

  • Impresionante,me gusta la versión original, pero este live la supera con creces, además el video es muy bueno,el piano durante toda la canción es mágico, gracias Radiohead...

  • The Constant Gardener". Seriously recommended. it´s an excellent movie whose message talks about capitalism.

    Brilliant and touching song too.

    Goes to favourites.
