  • where to get parts in UK to build flight case?absorbent material-foam,locks,alloy trunkings

  • Great Video. I made on a while back for 2 DNS1200 and djx700 mixer and i made it if but to make it look good too i made a part to hide the wire and put a power bar. So ill i need to do it plug power and to the speakers and i'm set!

  • why is the foam so expensive!

  • hey guys i started to make a flight case box for my cdj's and a 10" mixer.

what i did was i figured out the measurements, looked on vids and stuff. then i went to hope depot and bought the wood and they cut it for free so i got all the pieces cut for the cost of the wood which was 20$...ima put maybe a slide show up on my profile if anybody is interested.

  • Excellent vid, useful info. Worth considering weight though, as the larger and heavier the lights, and the more of them (i.e. 4 instead of 2) becomes quite heavy. It's okay to put wheels under the box, but you've still got to lift it into and out of your van/trailer/etc. so do consider that. Also, that much hardwood is quite heavy even without the contents, so just be aware that for people not wanting to snap their backs, it's worth considering a x2, cheers, Chris.

  • Just got my first tube amp, and after finding that a flight case is going to be $250-$300 I began looking for tutorials on building my own. Awesome video on this subject! Thanks for your input, I'll be hitting up the hardware store very soon!

  • ah i got the same problem I also just got my first tube amp and because i want tot gig alot with it i despretly need a flightcase and you have to get them made cusomly

    so they cost around $300

but i have to admit im not very handy

did you build your own flightcase and how was it?

  • guys im a dj/construnction worker... imma post my vids soon!!

  • what do you want him to do?? a silent video.... tard

  • Great vid. i think ill make one of these. But what i really need is an equipment rack. However they are really expensive! it just looks unprofessional if you show up with all your gear loose. Is there any where to by a cheap equipment rack or is it even possible to make one?

    Thanks

  • Great video, very clear, but, once the box is made, what do you use cut it in two? a scroll saw, a round saw? a chainsaw? it must be very difficult to cut strait in these conditions?

    What is your secret?

  • I'd asy a circular saw should do the job ;)

  • It's meant for gigs on the road, touring at a stretch. It's never in a million years going to be sent abroad for protection. We're using the term flight case loosely. More of just a case.

  • Cool... Heres an historical fact for you : After the second world war, 2 american soldiers brought back hardware and they built their own cases with it. Thats how the whole "cases" started, the hardware itself came from your country! The brits were recongnized for their uqality metal worksmanship.

  • good tips man,,,, do you have any vids on rugging a case for this but for my laptop and mixer case....

  • You should put some heavier duty catches on it, ive seen our profesionaly built ones broken when on tour and they cost upwards off 500 quid a case!

  • never thought of making one...you can paint it anyway you want to as well. great video as always

  • a flight case is what it says, a hard shell case for flights when traveling, you can drop it with your geaqr in it and it survives all damages.

  • Thanks a lot great ideas...never thought about making my own box.

  • "Stop it, daft bat!" haha, can we see some more vids of madagascar? Ta J, keep up the good work. Loving the vids!
