  • i got here from OMG Facts lol

  • Süper

  • They were produced to escape hawks during Mid Evil times, when they took messages. Then bred for show competition. Makes sense to me.

  • @paparitz1 midieval?

  • Yeee-haw!!

  • @curlymike I gotta add, these are the coolest pigeons I've ever seen, not like those dirty crap eating bastards we have around here. The only amusement ours have is to sit on a wire across the road and poop down on people, I'm not joking, they almost got me once!

  • @curlymike You might be surprised how many different types of pigeons there are. But actually every single fancy or racing pigeon is just a variation of the rock dove, the common street pigeon. Personally I don't race mine, I stick with the fancies, and breeding them to get variations is a lot of fun because you can go through generations faster thus getting faster results. Raising pigeons is a lost art, unfortunately, being kept alive by only a few fanciers.

  • PARKOUR/FREE RUNNING PIGEONS!!!

  • OMGfacts though

  • Cool !!!!

  • awesome!

  • oh crap where did i leave my pokeballs

  • i find this difficult to masturbate to

  • Pidove used Aerial Ace!

  • DO A BARREL ROLL

  • Do a barrel roll!

  • Who said pigeons can't have fun?

  • Who said pigeons can't have fun?

  • epic xD

  • Maybe they evolved to make it look like they got shot when they really didn't, so they'd stop getting shot at. They probably do it more in groups because a group is more liely to be shot at than a single bird.

You know, like when they were hunted by people with guns.

  • They do it because they can.

  • BARRREL ROLL

  • umm... maybe they do it because its fun?

  • they to it to deflect predators or to confuse them as to their exact location so the predators miss. My guess

  • What an amazing job with camera and I think it's awesome seeing these birds do this.

  • for those who want to see these birds flipping in slow mo check out the mardin turkey ryan doyle parqour vid on here... EPIC~PlUr!

  • What great camera work! So many show little dots in the sky, but yours shows the close up roll! Thanks so much!

  • those are not rollers they are called tumblers, big difference between the two breeds!

  • when I was a kid my dad bought me two of these tumblers I kept them in the coop we built for them and after three weeks to the day I let them go! they bought us such a delight watching them twist & turn like they had just been shot! I was totally fascinated as 2 why they tumble the way they do & I came to the conclusion they are completely cross eyed because of their tiny beaks? thanx 4 posting this clip brought back some very cool childhood memories :)

  • Is it true what Hannibal Lecter says?

  • Those Roller pigeons will better if I made mole with them.

  • hi there im struggling to get mine to fly let alone roll there about a year old and at the moment im feeding them half an oz per bird ( wheat / milo) ive tried more food but still wont fly they just come out and perch on the house roof, any suggestions would be helpfull , many thanks

  • @staggysgasgas try scaring them with a long pole and a bin bag or throwing something at them, it can be a headache i know, if that doesnt work lock them up in tight space and let them out after 2-3 days. If that doesnt work release them from far away and theyll have to fly back.

  • @TheShaolin99 ive been throwing stones and ive managed to get them to fly for about 10 mins now but very low i put extra wheat in tonights feed so see what happens also i weighed 1 of them tonight and he weighs about 8oz ( thought they be on the podgy side) thanks for the reply

  • it's really superb thanks for uploading

  • hey, if I could do backflips in mid-air, I'd be doing them all the time too.

  • oh my!!!! its awesome!!!

  • Best video yet.

  • Beautiful. Reminds me of my teen years. I had six tumblers and four rollers and nothing else mattered. The shows they put on were unbelievable. Very nice video.

  • I've just seen a pigeon doing this for the first time today. Best of all I was in Birmingham! Amazing skill.

  • but what about our pigeons Pomorie rotation

  • very nice

  • very nice

  • Great work, by the camera-man!

  • ياخي احححححححه وبحه ونص ضحكه ونص فرخه ونص حاله

  • They keep rollin rollin rollin rollin, keep rollin rollin rollin rollin

  • /watch?v=09WISgEe51g

  • why do they do it? they were olympics divers in a previous life. :) haha

  • i always thought they did it when they felt threatened by some other bird to escape because while the tumbler, or roller what ever you prefer, is falling the other bird won't be able to keep up.

  • hi mate how are you have you got any 4 sale plss if u have pls add me my msn we can talk better if u can ( tony_benice@hotmail.co.uk

  • and what about the Rolldown's? birds that cant stop rolling and hit the ground? is that enjoying for those birds? lol

  • MUY BUEN VIDEO MUESTRA DE FORMA DETALLADA LA CARACTERISTICA DE ESTA RAZA.

  • My wife use to have one named "Griffin" We lived on the 7th floor of an apartment. he had a huge cage there, we would let him out when we where home, and my wife would let him go and fly, and tumble , but when she would ring this little dinner bell, he would come back right away. One day though, a Hawk unfortunately caught him..........:(

  • No one really knows why they do it. They seem to do it more, and as a group staying closer together, when they sense a state of security. But I have seen them do at any old time what so ever. Just ... YEP! another. another. another. another. Kind of like the Volkswagen commercial.

  • they d it because humans make them like that

  • @FatherLawrence I think it's really a defense mechanism against birds of prey. It seems that the tumblers train themselves to stay agile in mid-air.

  • @FatherLawrence Actually rollers are an exploitation of a genetic mutation - certain pigeons had neuropathic defects which caused them to start flipping backwards in the air, thus "rolling" down, & some breeders liked that & bred the defect into a desirable trait! There are also tumblers & even "ground tumblers" that can't even get into flight - they just jump & do backward flips on the ground. Hope this info helps a bit :)

  • I never quite understood: they do that for the sake of rolling or it's an evasive maneuver against in-flight predators?

  • neznate nekoho gdo je ma jatotiš chovam stavaki červene tigri amodeni seti gazi

  • i love them birds like i love pimp ashley

  • ChaChing if your latest comment is in reference to my two pigeons, I assume and hope you are joking. Mine are not for consumption. They are like family to me. :-)

  • acrobatas

  • amazing birds

what kind of pigeons are these?

    ( the name )

  • There are shallow roller and deep roller pigeons. You cant breed two deep rollers bc their young will roll over, hit sumthing and die.

  • @ChaChing86 no, not necessarily, deep rollers dont throw out deep babiies at all times. only some will be deep. as long as the parents have good control then the young's will be fine. roller 101.

  • @kojlubpusse he got it from Hannibal the movie, it's not his intellectual property. I'm sure he just heard it in the movie, like I did, and came here, attempting to spout some sort of pseudo-intelligence to impress the faceless masses. What he misunderstood was that the script hannibal, as most scripts are written, was written with metaphorical design control in mind. good to see that you know what's going on, though! you taught me something.

  • @kojlubpusse So say I was a deep roller and my partner wasn't, would there be a 50/50 chance our offspring will roll? How about if I do not carry any baldness in my genes, will my offspring have 50/50 chance again? I would like to produce Deep Roller Pigeons with a full head of hair (:

  • @ChaChing86 if you were a deep roller and your mate was only a tumbler, chances are some will roll to match the number of roll that you can do and some will flip like their mothers. but your will lost speed of your roll. depth is not easy to lost. but speed is.

real competitive roller mans go for speed, not depth.

if you carry bald and your mate does not. then the chances of you getting a bald is 1 to 10.

and being bald doesnt mean you can roll.

  • @ChaChing86 this sounds like that scene on the movie 'Hanibal'

  • name is on top of the page. These are "Birmingham Rollers"

  • @MRKABOOTAR111 Birmingham Rollers

  • i love these birds, so great. the most logical answer to why they do roll is to evade common predators like hawks or falcons, so they do that so the predator gets confused. now people get the most pure genes of the rollers so they will always roll for there amusement, and now most of them do this.

  • great birds

  • I wonder how often they break something in mid air and fall straight to the ground

  • So awsome...best rollers i seen on yuotube.. and video is amazing fish it was longer

  • This is amazing and so cool. I have two pet pigeons, but they are some sort of "regular" kind. lol The rolling is awesome!

  • i wanna eat pigeon, we can negotiate a price for ur two pigeons, as long as they dont have diseases and they are fed and maintained, we'll do business ;)

    what a delicacy

  • that is the awesomest of awesome

  • You never put almond on almond! You can put different families together if you want but performance depends on the families themselves. Dont mate the almonds, they will be blind.

  • i was wondering if its good to breed an almond cock with a different bloodline almond hen together, just curious if anyone knows please reply thanks!

  • doesnt matter, if the young turns out good. in other words the young should be able to roll good or else its a cull.

  • theses are good spinners but then not very deep

  • some rollers rolling in the ground ,really very very strange ,becuese they can die very esay

  • Birmingham Roller

  • Amazing birds. I love pigeons and doves.

  • bro u gt any pigeons nw, for sale am from coventry

  • perfect roll

  • good roller

  • I used to breed these birds as a youngster in northern england they are the most beautiful birds highly intelligent and they do this to avoid prey - eagles kestrels etc

they are called tumblers the hugarians love them...fancy birds

  • ..avoid predators and avoid becoming prey

  • Hello, I've raised Rollers for 30 years. If they roll to avoid predators, why do they roll when no predators are around? And why, why, when a hawk is in hot persuit, do they fly like hell to get away?

  • hey darkcloud, why exactly do they do this, very interesting birds

  • they roll because they get dissy some people say its like an epeleptic fit

  • ha ha! they spaz out to avoid predators? lol So why don't other birds flip or spin? And why does a hawk stick around and clean em all out? Have you heard of a rolldown? Great get-away lol!

  • they rolling ecause that in them blad i hav 3 pars of birmigham rollers and that is special rolling

  • علة حا بليس

  • why do they roll, someone toled me they have brain freezes in the air - like fits that they cant control but someone else toled me they do it because thye want to.

i have 2 (soon to be 4:}) fantail X BR

  • Birmigham rollers is the most better roller pegion on the world their rolling is special something great

  • Absolutely great closeups. I used to have Birminghams and this brings back old memories. To answer frederm, it is bred into them but they actually seem to enjoy it.

  • Houston, we've got a problem... XD

  • bred for a genetic birth defect making them great food for hawks.looks like dinner time

  • It's not a defect, it's an ability. The birds are in complete control and only roll when they want to. Actually, I saw one of mine evade a kestrel by doing one back-flip and doubling back just as the kestrel was about to strike.

  • woow!! great birds! great stunts!!

  • Awesome...5 Diamonds *****

  • ahahahahahahaha!

  • i have one like these but a better one,a ompletely white with a brown head and rolls about 42 rolls at one fly, this is the last time is saw it flying, anyway, i like ur birds i wish i had like them they are hell amazing man..X]

  • You need to put music to this. How about Tom Petty's "Freefalling" What a gutsy, amazing bird!!!

  • Why do they roll like that ?

  • These must be fireballs or whittinghams...

  • naaa... fireballs are not found with those colors.

  • Are these just filmed in Birminham or is the implication they are called "Birmingham Rollers" - if that is the implication I do not think it is right

So, What is the difference between Rollers, Tumblers and Tipplers?

    Nice video though

  • Macedonia Have the best High Flying Pigeons and Döneks

  • wow they can only do

    8 rolls tat sucks pretty

    much yo!:)

  • I keep Birmingham Rollers, and would like to point out that the Pigeons enjoy rolling and there is no special training for these birds they do it naturaly and have done for hundreds of years the people who keep these birds are dedicated to there welfare,a nice video nice to see them in slow motion !

  • Yes. Why cant ppl understand that?

For most of the general public pigeons will always be "flying rats".

  • Actually, contrary to your lies, these birds are bred to have seizure-like defects which cause them to roll against their will when flying.

  • GET A BRAIN AND GET SOME ROLLERS

  • I can just say it's Amazing .......

  • The spinning is voluntary. It's not like they were bred to have seizures in mid-air. They enjoy it TMD218. It not cruel- they're just showing off.

  • not really. you're the one whos sck here.

    go kill yourself dude.

  • tmd218 why did you even watch this video..Nice comment ptlofts!! :D

  • I will try thanks ! :)

  • You're right. It's a fact that they were bred to literally seizure in the air. Sometimes the birds don't even recover before they hit the ground. These are facts which the people who do this sick sport try to lie about. Maybe you guys didn't read the latest article in the audubon about how you people also kill thousands of hawks :)

  • young birds "ride their tail", so I guess they have a seizure in the ass when too young to roll?

  • Im familiar with that article in Audubon magazine and it pissed me off to no end.Once the public finds out about those travesties commited by the rollers war will be declared.I would hate like hell to have a pigeon on my property when the whip comes down and it will fall.

  • These pigeons chose the time when they want to do the "roll".

That seizure theory its a damn lie!

  • You are disgusting

  • Great rollers someone knows where we can download the whole VIDEAO ?

    Thank you

  • Maybe geting in touch with the Discovery Channel?

  • a.q türkçe konuşsanız şaşardım

  • احلى انواع القلاب في العالم

  • @kopetsa08 fuck that

  • azizom ba in megan konak na poshtak. beya shiraz kaftar negah kon

  • awsome!!!

  • hi very good roller pigeon I have Thrace roller I like roller pigeon an racing pigeon,

w w w .kusculardernegi. com our web page see you..

  • Most fanciers are perfectly aware of PMV-1 and will vaccinate their birds for them. I do. Even though PMV can be passed to pigeons, it isn't passed to us. Vaccinate your birds if you care about them and their immunity will do the rest. I don't think your theory will actually happen :P If lofts had a bad outbreak of PMV, the fanciers would know to separate and do the best to help the sick and protect the healthy. The health department wouldn't go on a pigeon killing rampage.
