  • how do you open to change the batteries

  • @andydude6571a

    The one side pops out.

  • @AllAmericanFiveRadio,

I've recently purchased this same radio from an antique dealer. It seems to work well but did not come in a box such as yours does. I'm curious as to what its valued at and what era were they from? I assume the late 60's or early 70's but I'm not to sure.

  • @dustybender69

On ebay their asking 9.99-50.00 and labeled 1960-70

  • @AllAmericanFiveRadio

Ok. Thank you kindly for the info.

  • Nice Radio, that radio would quench your thirst, I have an american idol AM/FM novelty radioit didnt come in that good so i pulled out the antenna wire it was wound inside the radio but i pulled it out and it comes in better, the thing about it is even when its turned off it runs down batteries so i turn one of them around

  • Thanks. Yep turning one battery around will keep it from running down and you don't have to go look for batteries when you want to use it.

  • yeah it works but you need to make sure that the positive contact on your device has the 2 baffles that block the negative battery terminal from contacting the plus side or i think the batteries will burst ive has a few batteries do that they spurt and the liquid oozes out and i gotta toss the battery

  • haha, a radio that quenches my thirst! a highly collectible item. i need to get that globe radio on here someday.

  • You are doing some very good collecting (eBay parts....) The globe radio is far more collectable than most novelty radio. Simplely because they made less of them. You need to keep that one!! And I would like to see a vid

  • Very interesting.

Love to watch the video. As usual I am drinking a Diet Coke here but as brazilian

I should be drinking a Guaraná Brahma ;-)

    Best regards,

    mario.

  • I bought these radios before eBay. There still fun and collectable.

    Thanks Mario

    And Best Regards

    Rick

  • Rick,

Nice kicker at the end. Enjoyed that.

But man cannot live by Coke alone. Where's the six-pack of Pepsi radios?

    Regards,

    John

  • John,

I have a Pepsi radio, I think. I have a number of novelty radios in my collect. They are a lot of fun to collect. Thanks.

    Regards,

    Rick

  • AA5, You are one lucky YT'er to find a Coke bottle radio in the box! Radio sounds good!

    Have Fun,

    John S.

  • This was another one where I thought I was going to rip out my pocket getting out the $12.

  • Now THIS made my ears stand-up...How neat! ~Tammi~

  • Thanks! It took me several years to complete this collection. I believe that the Coca-Cola carton is appropriate for that style of Coca-Cola bottle. This was really fun to collect.
