Whelan is INSANE. The rule you should follow is this; if it is not needed to get the food to you, avoid it. Drink soda (if you must), water and everything else you buy from GLASS bottles, and avoid ALL plastic. Then you do not have to trust anyone, except the person who made and packaged the food that you bought. Treat your body like a temple and refuse any non inert container that carries foods, especially ones that are liquid or gelatinous.
