From my experience a lot of todays teenagers think and behave like children because they are treated as children for too long. They have no experience of the adult world and believe childish behavior acceptable. We don't know the full story but I too believe this boy made the bullets for this teacher to fire. Many of them "feed" off each other and try to see who can be the worst behaved in class. They PRIDE themselves on it too. Until discipline is practiced at HOME, it isn't going to happen in the classroom anymore. Too many parents don't pay enough attention to their kids, so many of the kids act up at school to get attention......ANY kind of attention!!
