  • The intro, wow! I have to learn it!

  • This is the "One Pedal" if ever there was one.

  • Beautiful Sound!

  • You have no idea how annoying it is when every pedal review just has someone play a load of bluesy cock-rock. Thank you for actually using and playing the settings in a way I would expect to hear them in.

  • Will this reverb work nicely on an analog synth? Can I easily trim the gain on it?

  • haha that harsh look 0:47, nailed the western !

  • Dude, you freaking rock at making demos. Thank you!

Now... to get down to business. THIS PEDAL IS A M A Z I N G! Everything from the range of tone to the versatility of the reverbs. For some reason the word tasty comes to mind. I need this. I literally need this.

  • I have never had so much gear lust before.

  • aleluya,,,grat demo

  • Awesome demo,

  • Thank you so much for playing music this pedal was intended for and not obnoxious wanky shit :)

  • Great sound !!!

  • @BristanKeller1 Awesome! That definately helped me a lot! Thanks! Now I know which pedal to go for :)

  • @BristanKeller1 have you decided which one to get yet? cuz im seriously stuck between RV-5 and the Cathedral Reverb

  • I must get this pedal!

  • where i can find this pedal , i want to buy it

  • That hall reverb is beautiful. I never did like plate and spring that much however.

  • I'll say one thing: that was some chill ass fucken music.

  • wow at the end 4:13

  • EXCELLENT fucking demo. Thank you for not playing stupid wanking bullshit.

  • Very nice demo..!

  • what song is at the start ?

  • @chrissycroken It sounds like "what do you want from me", doesn't it . :)

  • WHAT SONG IS PLAYED AT 2:05

  • omg electro harmonix marry me lol dame they make good shit.

  • i like the sound of the actual guitar!

  • Is that radiohead? sounds alot like reckoner for some reason

  • @Cbrods43 nah mate, i see y you'd think that tho :)

  • can it really do the surfy/spaghetti western sound in the intro as well? i was afraid that's the only sound it couldn't do, judging from the other videos i've seen alone, can anyone verify that it can do it and at what settings. i'm thinking of buying this awesome pedal

  • @junkyardking13

I own this pedal and there is a ton of options in it!

It can do much more than any video on youtube can describe especially if you combine it with the 'Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai' (Try checking out the "Electro-harmonix effectology"-clips here on youtube)

It does surf sounds really good and very 'spring like' (I to own an amp with true spring reverb, so I know what the real deal sounds like), but also a lot different reverb types!

  • @askerex recommend it?

  • @HappyPterodactyl I would definitely! It's very versatile and great sounding. Love Electro Harmonix effects cause they're always kind of crazy but still useful.

  • @askerex thank you. I hope to receive this as well as an Eastwood Mandocaster for my birthday next month. I love that it's stereo too because I have a Roland Saturn 09 analog organ with stereo output and a vintage Traynor bass amp & a 15w Fender tube amp.

  • if they put a shimmer effect on this thing it'd be by far the best reverb pedal out there :O

  • what is the difference between the cathedral's infinite reverb and ehx freeze effect?

  • @mewsic156 cathedral freezes the reverb effect, that's just the echo, the freeze, freezes your whole singal ;)

  • beautiful

  • I like the touch of humour you guys stick in your demos. It's what seperates you from 'Hi, I'm Andy from prow-geetarrrr-shap-dat-cam' /cringe

  • Very nice demo

    thanks man!

  • please could you tell mee what you are playing for the first three settings ?? i love it :) lol

  • can you get shimmer sounds out of it?

  • @269percy no, you can't, shame isn't it? :(

  • I, sir... Have never seen this video and have never left a comment. Could have been a nimrod friend using my account. I'll correct the problem

  • This has 8 presets to save to yeh? The big question for me is can you swap between those presets with your feet or at least swap between 2 (as i can see there is 2 actual buttons) thanks, Jake

  • @musicradartv , are you using any other pedals or effects on the grail modes? I hear a light modulation or shimmer on the grail reverb modes I think. Is that just coming from the Cathedral pedal?

  • does any body know how to clone it or has the diagrams???

  • @al58891al dude, the schems for this would be soo unbeleivably complicated that theres no point in building it, just go buy one yourself

  • i got this pedal, its awesome, but if u play metal and or want reverb with your solos, this is not the pedal for u, good thing i play alot of clean with my hard rock/metal, the sound is really distorted on any setting unless u back off of your distortion

  • you made me want this pedal - good job! now... where do I find $200?

  • Are you in the mighty boosh ?

  • some parkinson problems man?

  • @blowup333 ahw come on, it's just a joke

  • @davidtheguitarman sorry:) joke too.. Before I wrote that I looked at your video.. I think you don't have to be jalous!

  • sick! love it!

  • Yep, buying one. Great, great video, simple straight to the point. Proguitarshop and Gearmandude should take note.

  • @rtparrott i think Proguitarshop and GMD are straight to the point as well, there's some demos out there where 3 minutes of it is just looking at all the bits of paper in the pedal box

i think world music supply should take note actually, jason spencer just plays the same blues riffs over and over

  • I'm sold...........

  • 1:05 i am in love with that tune, what is it????

  • @soldat182

    Sounds like Radiohead's Reckoner.

  • First demo you did of the grail spring sounded just like Thom Yorke's Present Tense.

  • The "Whore mode" lol.

  • Eastwood Airline RS-II

  • what guitar is that? It looks killer, and sounds great!

  • OH, MY GOOD LORD, I love that sound! That has been the exact noise I've been tying to get for like, 3 weeks

  • hi!

what are the settings to that "farwest/surf" sound?

    thanks!

  • The reverb setting was stunning. I swear one of the riffs played sounds like an old Chili Peppers. Either that or explosion in the sky. I know I recognise it from somwhere. Oh, and that ifinite reverb, just wow. The fact the echo setting practically borders on delay sounds as well is a plus.

  • @DeadWhiteButterflies

I meant to say the "reverse" setting was was stunning, and that the riff sounded like an old Chili Peppers song.

  • what is this for a guitar?

  • Just tried this pedal out tonight and man, it is THE BEST pedal I have ever used.

The reverb sounds AMAZING and there is a lot of options when it comes to tone, delay, etc... All the presets are different and all sound great, very versatile.

I would HIGHLY suggest this pedal to anyone interested in reverb. Surf-rock, rockabilly, post-rock/shoegaze... This pedal is your side-kick.

  • omg, infinite reverb ftw!!

  • Reverse setting was very nice.

  • Your face was scary at first.

  • Did he really just do a bastardized version of The Present Tense?

  • Best Cathedral demo I've seen so far. Thanks :)

  • proper demo.

  • I gonna by that pedal it sounds great!

  • @TheSander94

    *Buy

  • That is one beautiful guitar.

  • Great vid. My mans your picking is interesting??? You'll be able to color better once you work on your style.

  • amazing

  • well done, Nice demo. Thanx for not talking the entire time and letting the guitar talk instead. By the way what kind of guitar and are you playing??.

  • @Butthouse it is an Easwood Airline RS-II, it says so in the description. ;)

  • great :)

  • i will b getting one of these pedals

  • madre de dios, "what hath Morricone wrought"...

  • @2:39 Plate reverb setting sounds beautiful.

  • Nice demo!

  • is there any volume drop on this unit? does it bosst some freq? noisy? anyone can tell me, would be great help..thanks

  • 1. Excellent demo, kudos.

    2. This pedal is a one trick pony. If you want Bloc Party type reverb you are set, if you want anything remotely flexible you are hooped.

If I were in an altrock band I would use this pedal but it sounded atrocious on the bluesy riffs -- definitely not a good choice for rock/blues or country/funk.

  • I've heard this pedal is extremely touchy on the knobs. Also that you can get anything you want out of it. Not just meaning drowning the signal or a slight touch, meaning anything.

  • Oh well, as long as you heard it, then... I'll go buy 3.

  • Lol, just what I've heard. I wasn't saying you're wrong. But, if you want to buy 3, sounds great =D.

  • While I disagree with your sentiments regarding the blues riffs, this pedal is relatively inexpensive for the variety of modes it boasts. The Holy Grail doesn't have the echo, hall, room, plate, accuspring, nor reverse functions, and is about half the price. Keep in mind that a person playing blues would almost certainly use the spring function (which this demo'er does not show). Mine just arrived in the mail, so I'll follow up once I play with it, but this pedal looks like a steal.

  • how do you find the pedal, is it a keeper?

  • Tons of settings, and at $160-180 used/b-stock, it's a great alternative to the Holiest Grail.

  • Hahaha I love the start!

  • waiting for mine to come.... and it's taking for Fucking ever, feels longer watching a vid like this.

  • reminds me of my old princeton reverb.

  • Did I hear a bit of "Reckoner" there at 1:10?

  • Lol, i thought so too, but it wasn't the same thing. Close though=).

  • great demo! Thanx! Finally someone out there who knows what to play with a reverb pedal...

    great pedal by the way.cheers!

  • @w2hostile dude, he's showing how the pedal sounds, he's not here to show off

  • @w2hostile you sir are a douche

  • mmm, sounds like explosions in the sky, in a box...

  • @doubleflipcrossfoot I thought The XX, but that works.

  • i'm torn between this and the rv-7. which should i buy?!

  • @ChumpJoe THIS! i think its more expensive but its SO buch better!

  • hay guys i think we found paul mccartney

  • what is the exact gear you are using???

it´s seems it haves a slapback echo and a distortion on the western sound.

it does the surf drip. splashey sping sound?

  • anyone know how to get the killer western tone at the start and beginning of the vid? cheers

  • yeah. buy the pedal lol

  • Spring reverb. Turn it up. That'll do it.

  • Thanks for putting these demos up - reading a review could never get as much information across as just letting people hear and see it!

  • Sweet demo! Want this pedal so bad.... Whats the name of the guitar hes playing? It sort of looks like one of Dan´s in the black keys plays?

  • @Ebadd9 yeah, its an eastwood roy smeck tribute... it says it in the description. its an awesome guitar.

  • Good video.

    Thanks for posting English Cowboy.

  • i love this video..

    great guitar

    great player

    great pedal.

  • Great sounds...even though the various reverbs are very similar sounding in the beginning...not just because he's playing the same melody...

It think it's a really nice looking pickguard by the way...

  • hahahahah whore mode

  • What are the settings at the first of the video?>

  • its all about the infinite

  • Lol i thought he said now lets have a listen to the whore mode.

  • how bout with a distortion pedal?

  • Nice reverb....awful pickguard....

  • really awsum sounds there
