The driver of an apparatus may proceed through the instersection if they are able to without endangering life or property. The tanker driver obviously slowed down. And also, who the hell didn't see the big red fire truck with the bright strobes and loud sirens. The van is to blame for the accident.

@danschmidt1995 The fire truck driver would be at fault. The truck was traveling too fast through the intersection to be able to stop if needed. The aooaratus driver WAS NOT driving with due regard.

I can't tell for certain, but it looks like the fire truck did slow down and proceed as safely as possibe through intersection (US law). The civilian van appears to be traveling at a high rate of speed. Im blaming the civilian on this one.

@DocJarzombek He didn't slow down as much as he should have, I'm surpised the other car didn't hit him. The van had the greater fault but the fire truck driver didn't check the intersection good enough. You gotta watch out for all the drunk drivers in Russia too.

E.g. in Europe we normally just slow down, but sometimes we can actually rush through red lights and over intersection (still driving safe!).

i blame the firetruck. i know that it's an emergency vehicle responding to an emergency call, but they can't go through intersections just like that. they have to reduce speed too, and if if it's needed, they have to stop completely until crossing cars are totally stopped.

You have to be the stupidest guy yet. All vehicles have to stop at red light lights because other vehicle have the green. A green light indicates that you can proceed through assuming that the direction has a red light. A red light means you fuckin stop your vehicle and in the case for emergency vehicles they can proceed if all other vehicles have stopped. If your not a hose monkey then you would make a great one. No fuckin brain.

But in most european countries you don't have to stop your emergency vehicle at red traffic lights. In some countries they can actually rush over a red lights without slowing down - still driving safe! With the hi-lo electronic or air pressured sirens cross traffic stops on time, actually quite a long time before the responding vehicle reaches the intersection

Car driver's fault.

Fire truck engineer (driver) saw that left oncoming traffic had stopped for the fire truck.

So he continues and gets hit by the idiot illegally passing stopped vehicles in the lefturn only lane.

Saw a near collison here. Everyone has stopped for their green signal. Emergency vehicle starts into intersection. One driver, oblivious to why everyonelse istopped, continues in his open lane at full speed, 35 mph. EV skids as vehicle passes just two feet in front of it.

If other traffic had stopped for the responding fire truck, I would not expect some idiot oblivious to why everyonelse had stopped to then illegally proceed straight through the left turn only lane.

A left turn driver would be traveling more slowly to make his left turn and both drivers would see each other in time to avoid a collision.
