19 Detail. You will be top of the heap at dry-sweeping oil spots, master of the floor buffer, and lead the way in cleaning gear from weekend long camping trips.
All armed services have been //horribly// corporatized, which is to say disorganized, uncohesioned and to an extent greater than many would be willing to admit (compared to the Cold War era), DEMORALIZED.
This state of affairs is particularly dangerous to our Army, as the in-fact manner of their conscription & deployment matched to the malignant objectives of the foreign corporation criminals that design their orders is recipe for disaster.
anyone know Drill Sergeant Meyers from Platoon Apache Fort Knox like where he went he wasnit message me my drill sergeant 5 years ago? if you know where he is or his unit message me he was awesome. Captain Matt Lonson
@rekke41 You dont get it, im trying to explain to a guy what the difference is between the Cavalry and Force Recon. I know the difference but he doesnt so I explained it in terms that he would understand.
@bigb4199 yeah they did. when you first start the video, it says "Military Occupational Speciality 19D Calvary Scout" Guess no one taught them attention to detail. It should say "19D Cavalry Scout".
@bigb4199 oh calm down, guy. any real Cav Scout would give a damn about how CAVALRY/CALVARY is spelled. not how SPELLED/SPELT is spelled. you must be a Tanker!
DruGeDuPmeTaLHeadXD You don't even know what planet you are on. As far as i've noticed Green Berets aren't doing much of anything in today's modern conflicts except walking around in board shorts, oakley shades, and acapulco shirts, carrying some highspeed decked out m4 talking bout were dressed this way so the locals cant tell who we are. Get the fuck outta here. I went to SFAS and was not impressed when i saw half of the cadre was overweight.
Oh, one more thing. Some of you candy ass Drill Sergeants need to stop telling these Privates such ridiculous war stories about how you got ambushed in Korea or some shit. Also the likelyhood that you killed anyone in Iraq after 2007 is slim. If you are one of these candy asses and are about to leave the trail, don't bring your bullshit back to the line. One last thing, if you are in ROTC, shut the fuck up. You don't know any more than a kid who just picked up the brochures from a recruiter.
I am in ROTC and I was enlisted for 3 and 1/2 years. I know much more than a brochure that some random yippy recruiter hands out and I have deployed for 15 months in Ramadi Iraq during surge, we, the Big Red One were the first to show up amongst the surge. I've done SKTs, over 250 combat patrols, and I have handed out candy and teddy bears - oh don't forget thift store clothes sent over too. I was discharged as a Specialist and I respect you for your 12 years, but don't dismiss my 3 1/2.
Sounds like a lot of comments coming from people that have no idea what they are talking about. I am a scout, my rank is Staff Sergeant and I have 12 years of experience. I can tell you that in today's conflict no one does their traditional job. The last time I sat in an Observation Post was in 2005, in Iraq. Most combat MOS walk around winning hearts and minds handing out teddy bears and soccer balls. Real Soldiers know what im talkin about.
Scouts in Diyala during '06-'07 would go out on small kill teams (anywhere from 5-8 dudes, METT-TC and all that) and set up OPs and on several occasions killed quite a few fuck nuts fucking around playing fuck around. Had to do plenty of the other shit but we got to do the "sexy missions" that we all signed up to be Scouts for. Nowadays is different. At least in Iraq. Afghan's another story....
ch606, as a scout we use quite an array of weaponry from 240B, M2 .50 cal, Javelin Missiles, M9 Beretta, M19 40mm grenade launcer, and Mossberg 500 12 guage for breaching and non-lethal rounds. To answer your question I most commonly use an M4a3 and an M9 Bertta.
@Chi26trojans i am a retired 19Dcav scout 2008 and we work with some marines in iraq and let me tell you they were so impress with us they thought we was special forces the marines tankers go to tanker school at ft,knox with us and they was telling the infantry marines 19D are highspeed 19D40 (RET) SCOUT-OUT-COMANCHE, TROOP
am 18 and thinking about joining the army but not sure yet,if I join and choose cav scout will they really teach me how to use those vehicles and is it hard to drive them?
Special FOrces is always first in, however in a legitimate US War, Calvary Scouts lead the attack and report positions to the Tanks and Artillery behind them in order to secure a good route for the armor, etc.
This kid cant even spell SERGEANT(he spelled sargeant) (CSS - is not a school) It is Sniper School, any Infantry/Scout can go there.
If you want info about 19Delta message my profile and I will get back you to. I'm in ROTC training to become an officer now.
How dangerous is it being a gunner? Do you get shot at when you up there from random areas...cause i would imagine your quite the target...and what are dismounts? Just passengers with weapons?
One of my friends was in the Cavalry Scouts. His Humvee took an IED blast in Iraq and he nearly lost his leg. He said it sucked....I think I'm going to become one.
i hate to say this my friend but the cavalry scouts require 2 year of marine activity well thats only for the cool stuff xD if you wanna be a driver then you can prob join but nothing else iam almost 100% positive
i hope ur not thinking of 2years UsMC acvt. because my recruiter and i have been talking about the cavalry scout for me and that was his first MOS and he hasnt said anything about that
lol they arnt the first in :D the navy seals a green barets are the first in-.- these guys are just reserves they barely operate in iraq -.- i know ive been there

No special forces IS US Army. Force Recon is a special operations unit, and is never referred to as special forces by folks in the military.

Jesus Christ, you'd think an official Army video could fucking spell "Cavalry" right.
Calvary = Hill where Jesus was crucified
Cavalry = Soldiers specializing in mounted warfare.

is the Army's Cavalry fighting vehicle a m2 bradley?.
usnavysss 1 year ago
@usnavysss
No. The M2 series Bradley is the infantry variant. Heavy Cav uses the M3A3 Bradley . Other cav units use Strykers, MRAPs, or HMMWVs

hey can an officer be part of an Cavalry Scout ??
crazyjuice119 2 years ago
DruGeDuPmeTaLHeadXD --
Any and all information this kid spat out is incorrect.
19Delta - is a enlisted US Army position, NO prior service is required, upon entry you will be assigned as a Driver, Dismount or Gunner.
You do NOT have a 67% chance of getting ambushed or KIA, that kid didnt goto sniper school NOR Iraq.
I served in Ramadi, Iraq as a 19D for 15 months. I was a Driver/Dismount/Gunner all at different times. Scouts are a forward recon asset.
