No special forces IS US Army. Force Recon is a special operations unit, and is never referred to as special forces by folks in the military.

No. The M2 series Bradley is the infantry variant.  Heavy Cav uses the M3A3 Bradley . Other cav units use Strykers, MRAPs, or HMMWVs

As far as i've noticed Green Berets aren't doing much of anything in today's modern conflicts except walking around in board shorts, oakley shades, and acapulco shirts, carrying some highspeed decked out m4 talking bout were dressed this way so the locals cant tell who we are. Oh, one more thing. Some of you candy ass Drill Sergeants need to stop telling these Privates such ridiculous war stories about how you got ambushed in Korea or some shit. Also the likelyhood that you killed anyone in Iraq after 2007 is slim. If you are one of these candy asses and are about to leave the trail, don't bring your bullshit back to the line. I am in ROTC and I was enlisted for 3 and 1/2 years. I know much more than a brochure that some random yippy recruiter hands out and I have deployed for 15 months in Ramadi Iraq during surge, we, the Big Red One were the first to show up amongst the surge. I've done SKTs, over 250 combat patrols, and I have handed out candy and teddy bears - oh don't forget thift store clothes sent over too. I was discharged as a Specialist and I respect you for your 12 years, but don't dismiss my 3 1/2.

Sounds like a lot of comments coming from people that have no idea what they are talking about. I am a scout, my rank is Staff Sergeant and I have 12 years of experience. I can tell you that in today's conflict no one does their traditional job. The last time I sat in an Observation Post was in 2005, in Iraq. Most combat MOS walk around winning hearts and minds handing out teddy bears and soccer balls. Real Soldiers know what im talkin about.

Scouts in Diyala during '06-'07 would go out on small kill teams (anywhere from 5-8 dudes, METT-TC and all that) and set up OPs and on several occasions killed quite a few fuck nuts fucking around playing fuck around. Had to do plenty of the other shit but we got to do the "sexy missions" that we all signed up to be Scouts for. Nowadays is different. At least in Iraq. Afghan's another story....

what kind of weapon do you have as a scout? did you use an M4?

ch606, as a scout we use quite an array of weaponry from 240B, M2 .50 cal, Javelin Missiles, M9 Beretta, M19 40mm grenade launcer, and Mossberg 500 12 guage for breaching and non-lethal rounds. To answer your question I most commonly use an M4a3 and an M9 Bertta.

Special FOrces is always first in, however in a legitimate US War, Calvary Scouts lead the attack and report positions to the Tanks and Artillery behind them in order to secure a good route for the armor, etc.

This kid cant even spell SERGEANT(he spelled sargeant) (CSS - is not a school) It is Sniper School, any Infantry/Scout can go there.

19Delta - is a enlisted US Army position, NO prior service is required, upon entry you will be assigned as a Driver, Dismount or Gunner.

You do NOT have a 67% chance of getting ambushed or KIA, that kid didnt goto sniper school NOR Iraq.

I served in Ramadi, Iraq as a 19D for 15 months. I was a Driver/Dismount/Gunner all at different times. Scouts are a forward recon asset.

One of my friends was in the Cavalry Scouts. His Humvee took an IED blast in Iraq and he nearly lost his leg. He said it sucked....I think I'm going to become one.
