@guitarpick678 be content in the moment. Enjoy listening to the music rather than always looking forward to the end. A bit of Carpe Diem. Unfortunately the hoax is nearly impossible to avoid altogether in Western Clivilisation, you have to look forward a certain amount or else the system could well spite you. You might say that if you do not look forward a little bit because if you concentrate too much on this line of the song, you might forget to sing the next... in Western Civilisation anyway
I have a theory that by keeping the above realization of life always in your mind, that you can create an entirely unique experience for yourself that doesn't follow the rat-race at all. And through this ingenuity will come whatever a success that is only defined by yourself.

This totally isn't MS+TP's work at all...it doesnt even sit anywhere between the art from spirit of xmas, the pilot of South Park or anything else from their style...
"Trey Parker, one of the creators of South Park, was raised in Colorado, where his father attempted to teach him Buddhism. Now, years later, Parker and his animation pal Matt Stone have brought to life the teachings of Alan Watts, the comparative religion expert and philosopher. Under the FurryCarlos Productions banner, the two tapped two animators from South Park Studios, Chris Brion and Todd Benson to keyframe three of Watts recordings..." (quoted from source).
Not only the fact that that Alan, Trey and Matt have worked on other colab's, just go to google and type in "Alan Watts, Matt Stone and Trey Parker work together". There you go.
Wow, my inbox has been flooded with people commenting on this since yesterday and it all seems to have stemmed from a twitter by Stephen Fry. How cool is that? Great to see Alan Watts getting so much attention!
What a fantastic little video! It makes such an important point in such a small amount of time, which is amazing to me. A big thanks to Stephen Fry for sending me here via Twitter!
Wow! That rather pulled me up short. It's so obvious really, but put so succinctly, it really made me consider things and look at life a little bit differently. And surely that's not a bad thing.
Life is a journey, but it's not just about getting from A to B. Getting to 'B' may be important (or it may not, depending on what 'B' is for you...) but it's also important to enjoy the ride and the scenery as we go along. And to share the beauty with others, of course! :)
A very close approximation of the journey of life such as we know it... wonderfully real in fact and makes you want to listen to the music and enjoy the trip at the same time!
brilliant. and people try to criticize thing like south park r even family guy as being without substance and mind numbing, clearly critics who need to wisedom such as this video here to wake up. its the same with Tim and Eric. its like comedy is FINALLY getting its DaDa movement, and i think it is just brilliant, balls to the wall, this is just ridiculous, and this is what laughing is all about... bravo, give me more...
right but i feel the juvenility of it makes a very loud statement, it helps spur the philosophical meanings. i suppose its very zen in nature. hm, funny. then i suppose also that it is very fitting that this animation is to an alan watts audio clip.. like i said, bravo give me more

God understood Watts when he created the world out of his playfulness and made sure that what had to be achieved was always there from the beginning.

I've often thought of Stephen Fry and Alan Watts as being birds of a feather.

In the "Out of your mind" series, Watts tells a story about a general and his imitation has always reminded me of General Melchett :)

South park is very high brow if you can look past the juvenile jokes. Family guy to me is sometimes philosophical.
K2Tanner 2 years ago
right but i feel the juvenility of it makes a very loud statement, it helps spur the philosophical meanings. i suppose its very zen in nature. hm, funny. then i suppose also that it is very fitting that this animation is to an alan watts audio clip.. like i said, bravo give me more
