Im an 8th grader, and as an student I like to make videos of things I like. My suggestion is to give a choice to your students, so they can have fun and enjoy doing it. But there would have to be some requirements, like for example, at least how long can the book be, etc.

I'm thoroughly enjoying the project. It is a must do for a final etc. Put a time limit and make sure it is on topic. Include the theme, foreshadowing, rising action, and the concept of the community. Music, transitions, credits, and a title are also key! But most of all, have fun.
