i just tried butternut squash today (loved it) and so i got to thinking about spaggetti squash (last one i bought looked and felt fresh but was black inside) i may have to buy another one this week and try again btw butter nut seeds are AWWWWEEEESOME they're smaller and more tender then pumpkin seeds but have all the flavour
I've been growing spaghetti squash for many years. Done right you can dry out the shell after cooking, shallac them and make them into a bowl. But I must say I use a meat clever and hammer to split them. But if you want to be challenged by a squash try cooking a Blue Hubbard!! OMG!
I take a spaghetti squash, wash it off, stab three little slits in the top, then put the whole thing into a large oval crock pot with about 2 cups of water. Cook on High for about 4 hours and the thing is done. Much easier to cut when already cooked. Just scoop out the seeds from the middle then fluff the strands out with a fork. Yummy.
I make a spaghetti squash about once a week. They are such pain in the ass to cut!!! I feel like the knife is gonna slip one of these times & Im gonna lose a friggin finger :/
You don't get spaghetti squash there? Is it maybe imported under a different name? You can try other squash seeds though. I've tried Kabocha and while I don't recommend them unless you are desperate I have butternut squash on deck as well as acorn to experiment with in the upcoming weeks. Yum!

I love spaghetti squash!
It is such a pain to cut.
I don't know why I have this overwhelming urge to roast the seeds.I don't know why though because I never even heard about doing that. XD
