@ILikeReallyBigButts More like can't tell the difference between the sound of a flatplane V8 and a crossplane V8. The majority of people are more familiar with the latter.
@LordDarkYak. I Agree but have you ever heard of a 9ff GT9-R with a larger version of the Porsche flat 6 (4.0L) twin turbo rated at 1,100+ hp and 775lb/ft with a 0-185mph of about 15 secs. This monster had Veyron speed in 2009?!
I love the sound of a flat 6. Hearing a GT3 RSR in person was a religious moment for me. That said, the V-8 in this beast sounds awesome! I'd take this one in exchange for my boxster S any day, if it's owner was disappointed by the sound! Different cars for different folks I guess. If you want the flat 6, there are plenty of those out there for you. I'm not condemning anyone to Hell that wants a v-8 in there P car.
Massa91195 dude such up u just don't know what your talking about! And that flat 6 is out dated fo a NA engine gt3rs 4.0 is the last what u think they can squeeze a 4.2 then 4.4 out the flat 6? Get real!
I liked Ruf until they made the eRuf. Than i started thinking that they don't really know what a perfect Porsche (they say they try to make the original better) has to look like.
And know they build this. And know i know that they don't know how a perfect Porsche looks like (or how it has to be). 911 without flat 6 is no 911. If i'd hear that sound i'd think i would be a f430 and not a tuned Porsche. RUF STOP MAKING SUCH A SHIT!
Pretty much they started out as a tuner tuning 901 and 911s to make them better but there work are so good the german gov made them a manufacturer now a days they don't do as much tunning they have there own engine line and car line look at that engine they made from scratch and going into production 2012 tuners don't do that!
PORSCHE is PORSCHE and RUF is RUF! But they have a great relationship. Ruf rt12 line and rgt line are hand build only thing the get from PORSCHE Is a shell from PORSCHE they buy there own parts and that's wy most Rufs has it's own vin as RUF not PORSCHE just look at rufs documentary
And no the engine is made from scratch by ruf!!! It's 190 degree v8 not 90 degree and flat meaning flat plane crank like a 458 italia this engine is a one off ingine by ruf!
finally...what i always feared. a v8 under the hood of 911 inspired body..they keep upping the displacement so even porsche is gonna have to turn to some kind of alternative soon. unless they plan on making a flat 6 with more than 4 liters of displacement. ferrari and lambo are doing the same...more displacement more displacement. enuf already!!damn! make them lighter and more efficient, forget about speed wars and HP wars. go green and stay performance oriented. that would really strike a cord
@paikmendez screw green, the speed wars don't need pansies like you interfering. Lambo has already said more than once their flagship will never be powered by anything other than a big V12, that's how it should be!
@paikmendez I have to agree with you, just look at the new Morgan three wheeler, Jay Leno.. Who by no means is a racing driver (Trying to avoid 12 year old haters) but who still owns quite a few supercars says that is the most fun he has had in a vehicle in a long time and it' got a 2 litre twin
@Yafeelzmeh I have an issue with people on the youtube car channel (aka little kids who pretend they know what they are talking about)
I thought you were one of that type. I have an issue with kids like that over here. if that was just a type no biggie. I got no problem deleting my comment. maybe you should delete that 1/3 comment as well before others who are like me respond to you
@nocki5oh Maybe if you wouldn't have wasted your money on crApple products you wouldn't have to pout. Save yourself some heartache. Android does HTML5 AND Flash.

@levirolla You must be deaf to equate the sound of a 4-Cylinder I4's valve timing to a V8.

@ToxemicHunter It's techinically not a Porsche, its a RUF, they buy bare chasis from Porsche and make their own cars.

@GUTZY1989. IF you're Sqeamish about this Ruf, then you would HATE what Gemballa did with the Avalanche GTR 650 which has 650hp/700trq?! :-P
43black17 4 months ago
ruf schould know better than to fuck with a 911 ... 911 schould always be a flat 6 , a v8 in a 911 NOT A GOOD ideea !!!

@GUTZY1989, You right, good for you that this is a RUF RGT-8 and it issen't a 911 neither is it a Porsche.

First I meant to say a 1/4 smaller, and with your super math skills that would make it 2/3 smaller. I said smaller, not 1/3 the size.

holy shit v8 o_o???
TheTyrant01 8 months ago
The engine is the same one out of the new panamera I believe. The engine itself is tiny, a little more then a third smaller then a Corvettes 8.

IDK about you but let me pull out my calculator for a sec.....
uhh huh...
*punches more buttions*
hmmm
I see
4.5L is NOT 1/3 of 6.2L
its 1.7L smaller!!!!! for it to be "1/3" it needs to be a 2.0L engine
