I hate how people argue that Barker is better... Barker is beastly, yes, but at set, not marching percussion. DCI style drumming is hard, set can be hard, depending on what it is you're playing. I can play both marching and set, i can play most of what ScoJo plays but when it comes to doing what Barker does on set, there's no way, mainly because I don't really practice set that much yet, both of these guys are really good at what they do regardless.

The recipe shows you what to use and how long to bake it. The sheet music tells you what rudiment is to be played and where. you must play by ear,if you do ,learn to read  so what you are playing is the same as the person you are playing with.
