I think the problem with educating kids about homosexuality is that not even gay people are clear on whether they chose to be gay or were born gay, or if both situations exist. So heterosexuals find it risky to "tempt" the young minds with homosexuality, because, what if they chose to be gay? That is at least my perception of the problem.
@LegionarioCruel I don't know what sort of gay people you're talking about, but science has proven that homosexuality comes with actual, measurable biological differences. You can have a genetic disposition towards it, gay people are more likely to be left handed etc... It's not a choice, I mean, why would anyone CHOSE to be discriminated and regarded as unmasculine/unfeminine? It's like saying that the existence of special pens and scissors for the left-handed is going to turn kids
No, science has not yet proven which factors determine sexual orientation, although most scientists BELIEVE it MUST be biological factors. Anyway, that was not my point; what I meant is that since parents do not want their kids to be gay (for the same reason you are clearly exposing) and since it is YET unclear how much of a factor the environment plays, parents prefer NOT to expose their children to anything related to homosexuals, which is very natural as I see it.
@LegionarioCruel It Is proven, dude. There are unambiguous studies on the matter, for example, the more older brothers you have, the more likely you are to be gay. If not exposing them woud cause ppl not to be gay, there wouldn't be gays at all since they haven't been very visible over here for the last millenium. Don't turn my words around, What I meant by "some of these children will be gay", is that they will NOTICE they're gay when they hit puberty - and when that happens, they should know
@KendrixTermina - No, it is not proven. There is not enough evidence (no gay gene), although there is general consensus that it must be biological. But no scientist will claim at this moment that homosexuality is exclusively determined by biological factors. No one. When these factors are identified, you will be able to test your baby in te womb to know their sexual orientation in advance and educate him/her accordingly.
@KendrixTermina When a story is told to a child about a woman marrying a vegetable is a child too stupid to wonder how the woman and the vegetable would go about making children and what the children would look like? Who carries the babies in the man-chicken union? Do they hatch from an egg?...
@KendrixTermina Normalizing and teaching a sexual fetish to children is no less damaging than showing them actual pornography. It desensitizes them to sex and even deviant sexuality at an age where their bodies arent even capable of fully enjoying it and thus leads to them having a difficult and dysfunctional life. How is it beneficial to the children? It is only beneficial to perverts who want to be open about their perversions.
@LegionarioCruel its okay. Argument from ignorance = fail.We don't know the exact mechanisms, but that doesn't mean the few facts we know are invalid. We don't know what exactly makes people straight either. If you want to help these ppl, you gotta tell them before puberty, and if you want to stop discrimination, you need to tell kids about these people before they learn it from shoolyard gossip and retarded internet posts.
@KendrixTermina - I did not say it is OK, and I am fine with sexual education, including homosexuality. I say it is understandable (not justifiable) because we do not know yet how sexual orientation works.
@LegionarioCruel Have you HEARD today's school children? It is not a question of wether to expose them or not - they have internet, and if they don't, their friends are gonna have it. There will be a joke on TV. Gossip amongst their friends (since some ignorant youth like to use "gay" as a curse word)... Or they will simply see a pair of gays kissing on the street. You may not like it, you may consider it a bad thing, but if we are realistic, we can't "not expose them" in today's world.
@KendrixTermina - Again, I don't say it is OK or that kids won't be exposed one way or the other to the topic (and better in school than through tv/internet/friends). I say it is very clear for me why parents don't want their kids to be exposed to the topic of homosexuality, because we do not know yet how muc the environment is involved.
@LegionarioCruel right handed. It just won't, because no matter how much you try, you just can't write properly with the hand that's not your "main" one, because of the way your brain is wired. If sexual orientation could be changed by exposure, then why are there gay people at all if most ppl walking around are straight and untill recently, any media would portray only straight ppl? Just like seeing things adressed at straight people won't make gay ppl straight, seeing things for gay people
@LegionarioCruel won't make a straight person gay. Also, yes, what if it were therotically possible to chose to be gay, why shouldn't they? Are you implying it's a bad thing? Some of the kids who'll read those books will be gay. It's better to make sure they don't develop self-esteem issues.
Unfortunately, that's what happens in a hetero-normative society. It's 2011, such beliefs are archaic and reprehensible, they have no place in a modern society of open-minded individuals.
Stop trying to sexualize children to be gay. Being gay is NOT a choice but it DOES start with the thought being planted in a person's head. All you are doing by planting these thoughts in kids' heads is causing some of them to become gay through no choice of their own. Do we need to treat furries as mentionable, normal, desirable, etc? Should we force kids during compulsory education to watch two people in animal costumes to find each other and start kissing? How is that desirable and necessary?
@SecondAmerica first of all like ZJ said their are possibly hundreds of books about straight people and many students still turn out gay, so technically even if you are correct and books can make you gay even by reading them one time then you would only be turning a fraction of 1 percent of children gay. in fact probably 1 extra child in each school has a SMALL chance at becoming gay, when already 5 percent of people are already gay and also stop comparing gays to animals its getting tiring
@thewhatsit104 There may only be a tiny fraction of a chance that a kid will bring a gun to school and shoot your child with it. Does that make it any less devastating to a family if it' their child that gets killed? The furry comparison is only to draw the parallel between other deviant sexual preferences and homosexuality and is not meant to evoke people raping animals or young boys or anything of that nature.
@SecondAmerica well true although there is a chance a kid could bring a gun to school a book would probably not convince them to do this. people dont live their lives by books and if you do choose to live your life by a fairy tale book then im sorry but you are pretty retarted. and also having a gay child isnt "devistating" to a family, at least its not as devastating as having their child killed, so stop comparing your child being gay to your child beingt killed
@SecondAmerica What is "sexualizing" about a freakin' FAIRYTALE BOOK? There's nothing remotely sexual about it. A little romantic? Yeah, but it doesn't go into any detail, it's a children's book. The story is handled no different than a heterosexual couple in such a story would be handling - Then saying "and then, the girl married the prince and they had many children" would be sexualizing kids, too.
@KendrixTermina But it doesn't hold any special place amongst deviant perversions and should not be taught in school anymore than a book about a woman marrying a vegetable or a man marrying a chicken. Historically and culturally marriage is a partnership for the creation, protection and education of children...
@KendrixTermina Some people have personalities that incline them to do things differently, left handed people, for instance, contrarians, and rabble rousers... Also there are life experiences that can turn men off of women through bad associations. Hedonism which leads people to seek pleasure from anything and sexual abuse. I'm not under the impression that homosexuality can be stamped out of existence or that it needs to be....
@PUNKNUCKET "you go around replying to peoples comments all over youtube " And this is abnormal on Youtube? Wait how do you know this? Can you see everything I commented on and when I did it?
"Did you get some kind of kick in replying to it?" So you've never EVER replied to a Youtube comment? Did YOU get some kick out of it? Exactly as I was saying...an idiot should be treated as an idiot...when you say something stupid expect someone to call you out on it. :)
The person suing was on the radio saying that if if kids in elementary school find out that gays exist, at an age when they can't stand the opposite sex, then they'll all want to be gay. There actually may be some truth to that but, as the saying goes, people in hell want ice water.
look at the history - a few medieval Kings and princess had "bedfellows" and married just to provide an heir to the throne. there was an expression that still exists in some parts of the world, "Women are for children, Men are for pleasure".
A book about 2 male penguins was banned from my school. The 2 male penguins found an orphaned penguin baby and took care of it as if it was their own.. It was banned for supporting gay marriage. WTF.
Well there actually already are books of gay aspects in them. For examle, Boccaccio, one of the most famous novelists in barocco, and his famous works: "Decameron" In on of it's stories it tells about two man falling in love and actually describes sex (and on of them was a priest) We learn about Decameron in schools and even have it as an obligational literature to read.
@Menak666 Actually Id have to agree that I favour holding back information about sex until they are at an age to understand it and put it in context. Obvioulsly we want to do it soon enough to prevent them from making decisions, but I think when they are in kindergarten it better not to introduce it to them to early and just let them be 'kids'. Still books like these arent anything to o with sex, and there great bcoz they normalise what should have been accepted years ago as a legitimate orient
King & King offends me because theres not forced marriage of teens to abusive husbands that need to be appeased OR YOU WILL BE HORRIBLY PUNISHED! I mean, that shit turns me on, and theres none of that in there. Pisses me off.
The fact that a kid's book like this now exists is pretty awesome, and definitely a reflection of societal advancement. Preschool was about the time that I first became attracted to the opposite sex, so it stands to reason that other kids (though, certainly not all kids) of all sexual orientations might develop in a similar trajectory. This book could save tons of kids YEARS of confusion, and that's great.
I'll be sure to get it if I ever decide to have kids.
Romans 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
IT IS APPOINTED UNTO MEN ONCE TO DIE AND AFTER THIS THE JUDGMENT:
@kevinscott5000 Thankyou for informing us that we as good innocent ppl must prepare to stand up to and defend ourselves from this evil, genocidal, nihstlic tyrant you call God!
LEVITICUS 18:22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
LEVITICUS 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
@Doggieballs4 do you also not teach them what breasts are? what a penis is? how do you explain an erection to a 6 year old that asks? do you make up some story about where babies are really carried/born from? I know i didn't tell my kids that I carried them in my stomach and they came out a magic zipper (i would prefer that they knew vaginal birth is what is normal not this baby extracation that the TV loves to show). I don't tell my son that the erection he has is unnatural/gross.
i need to check the content, but it doesn't sound bad to me. my cousin found a kids book that creeped me out, a boy had parents who always fought and was sexually abused by his uncle, when he grew up people called him 'gay' but after talking with a councilor, turns out he wasn't it was his uncles fault he liked guys.
if that book is fine, and king and king isn't, what the hell? does king and king have them in bed together, one of them with a creepy grin?
@ZJemptv Cause heterosexual stories don't put any emphasis on sexuality unlike king and king where 70 per cent of the emphasis is on sexuality which is something a child is to young to learn
@Doggieballs4 Yeah making a statement without ANYTHING to qualify it, you sure gave him a sound thrashing. I can point to almost any childrens book/movie/tv show that is just as sexual as "King and King" and no one pitches a bitch about them. So either show that this book is somehow worse or shut our noise tube.
@Doggieballs4 Not really, it's about a prince finding someone whom he loves and marrying them, there's probably thousands of other books/movies/tv shows with the exact same thing only without the extra Y chromosome or even better worse stuff (Someone else already pointed out Jack and the Beanstalk). So how is it that when he's kissing another man it's all about the sexual aspect, but when it's a girl sexuality doesn't even enter into it?
@Doggieballs4 OK then let me break it down a bit, a kid is forced to sell a dried up cow so he can buy food, instead he trades it for three beans on the word of a total stanger (Cause remember kids, always trade your valuables to total stangers as long as what they have is magic). He then when the beanstalk grows he goes about stealing precious things from a (In some versions) nearly blind man, and when the man tries to take back HIS belongings the kid kills him.
So let's review breaking and entering, theft of valuables from the disabled and murdering the people you steal from are just fine for your kid, but two people kissing, that's just too far.
@supermanlypunch No you're just putting 2 and 2 together and gettin 222 jack and the beanstalk is harmless unlike king and king which was written to put the message in kids heads that it's ok to be gay and that being gay is normal
@Doggieballs4 How am I doing that? That is the exact story of Jack and the Beanstalk, that I'm reading straight from a book of fairy tales (If I'm wrong tell me your version). Although I'll give you this, you are right in one respect, King and King was probably written to show kids that Gay people are, well, PEOPLE. Sure they show them kissing on one page, but the only difference between that and your average Disney Princess story is the extra Y chromosome.
@supermanlypunch You're maklin loopy exaggerations about each part of the story from the begging to the end. That aside teaching kids about homosexuality
is wrong cause 5 year old kids are way too you to understand what homosexuality
@Doggieballs4 No I'm really not, the sad part is that came straight from the book, go read it yourself if you don't believe me (Although not all versions have the giant being blind).
If a child can understand Heterosexualitywhat makes you think that they can't understand Homosexuality? There's really not that much of a difference, but if you're afraid that they might discover that they're gay, and that would make you not love them, then you are an evil person and you do not deserve children.
@supermanlypunch Ok lets cut the bullshit that fuckin book is for nothing more then for faggot pedofiles to brainwash kids into being gay simple as that
@Doggieballs4 You do realize that the majority of pedophiles are Heterosexual right (and even if they weren't they'd still be fucking lunatics so it wouldn't matter)? Even with that aside, You can't "Brainwash" people into being Homosexual anymore then you can do it with Heterosexuality (or else there wouldn't be any gays coming from Christian families), and even if the kids did turn out to be gay, and that would make you love your child less, then see my previous comment.
@Doggieballs4 I'm not sure what parents you had as a kid, but where I come from most parents are smart enough to teach their kids to NOT imitate what they see in books when it comes to that sort of thing. And again I do not see how it can negetively effect the child, sure maybe they'll go through a phase of thinking they might be gay, but that'll probably happen regardless, and when they get older they'll figure it out and they'll either be gay or they won't be.
@Doggieballs4 Sooo, it's the book's fault that some people are too lazy to be actual parents? Seriously, if you can't go through basic shit like "Don't try to do what you see in fantasy books" how the fuck are you you going to deal with anything else?
@Doggieballs4 Ohh and you do? I know enough to know that if I don't want my kid seeing something I don't let them see it, it's much easier then trying to ban it, it's less likely to make people who do not object hate me, and it's just as effecive as well as allowing my child to access it when they're mature enough so that I don't object. I also know that if you don't teach them early not to mimic fantasy they grow up and tend to do try and mimic fantasy.
@supermanlypunch But i can't keep my kids out school so i can't keep them from seeing this filth which is why i want that fuckin book banned seriously what good is teaching that sick shit to kids gonna do
@Doggieballs4 Ohhh I don't know, teach them a little tolerance? If the problem is that you don't want them imitating the book, go through the very simple conversation "Do not do what you see in fantasy" and ensure they understand, there shouldn't be a problem, I mean it worked for me when I was kid. And if your problem is with the school, find a different school, even the little speck of nothing town I grew up in had at least 3 elementary schools.
@supermanlypunch Well findin a school that does n't teach that filth is like finding a needle in a haystack and lets get one thing straight once and for all if a child imitates what he sees in that book its the schools fault and not the parent
cause the book is to grown up for 5 year olds so no matter what a parent says there's still a chance the child will copy what they see in that book
@Doggieballs4 Well it's not like it's teaching kids to murder eachother, you still haven't given a single word as to why it's so bad. Is it cause you don't like gays? If so that's your problem not ours. And to clear up, if a kid imitates something they see in fiction (I'm talking more "Tries to fly like Superman by jumping off a high place") then it's the fault of the child for doing it and the supervising adult for not stopping it.
@Doggieballs4 No you haven't, you've just said "I don't like it" if a hundred different ways, yeah, "they might imitate it," but how is that in itself bad? You haven't told me once how this could be a negative thing, it isn't violent in anyway, it's not showing them how gay guys fuck (if that happened the book wouldn't even exist), and it's overall it's just telling them to be kind to someone different. HOW IS THIS A BAD THING!?!?!?!
@supermanlypunch Ok i can't believe you just asked me whats wrong with two 5 year olds imitating what they see in that book you're fucked up in the head and
@Doggieballs4 You're trying to get a book nationally banned just cause YOU don't like it, and I'm the crazy one?
I've seen 5 year olds give each other little pecks before and almost every time it happened everyone else was going on about how cute it was. So really no there isn't anything wrong with it, if the book had them full on tounging or something then there wouldn't be an issue, but since there is no such thing in this book, you still have nothing.
@Doggieballs4 Leave it at what? That you're a bigoted fuck hole? I already knew that, but you did teach me that you know absolutly nothing about being any sort of responcible parent, hope that your partner is better then you at that.
@supermanlypunch oh but why, then we would have to tell them not to kiss strangers, not kiss frogs, not eat apples from witches, that it is not ok to run away and live in the forest with 7 strange men. that you probably shouldn't let people climg your hair, and that marrying an ogre possibly isn't the best life decision. Geez ya don't want much lol :) and yes this answer was sarcastic and in total agreeance with you.
@Doggieballs4 I think you are underestimating 5 year olds. I have a 4 year old and a 6 year old. I have explained to them that people fall in love with people, some with women, some with men, it really doesn't matter as long as they are happy together. I would be more than happy to read my children this story.
@Doggieballs4 How did they put more emphasis on sexuality? Sleeping Beauty had a kiss too.
Almost ALL Disney movies with heterosexual relationships have had MUCH emphasis on sexuality, such as Aladdin, Cinderella, Snow White, and Pocahontas.
@DaFawky Well there's more to it then two faggots kissin the book is about teaching kids about homosexual relationships all those disney movies are just entertainment you fuckin idiot
@Doggieballs4 it's not fucked up at all. It's just two guys who love each other. SO? The same thing happened with Belle who liked a freaking monster beast, but no one complained about bestiality.
it's not fucked up at all, because either way, heterosexuality and homosexuality is innate.
homosexuality isn't fucked up, because they don't harm anyone with their sexual attraction, unlike pedophilia or bestiality.
@DaFawky You do realize that bestiality means having sex with an animal and not a beast and that beasts are not real right? please tell me you're not that much of a retard that aside even tough homosexuality is innate it's still fucked up
@Doggieballs4 no shit, it's called fiction. It may be fiction but it was still bestiality based on fiction. You must be a retard if you didn't realize that.
Homosexuality isn't fucked up. It does not hurt anyone. If it was fucked up, it would be hurting people. There's nothing wrong with two adults being in a relationship whether it's a man or woman.
@DaFawky Well homosexuality is unnatural so it is fucked up and you sound like a fuckin psycho when you try and compare beauty and the beast to bestiality
@Doggieballs4 what are you talking about? I'm not "comparing" it at all, it IS bestiality in fictional form. It was a romance between a fictional beast and a human, which is labeled unnatural, but yet no one condemned the movie. It was bestiality in the most literal sense.
& actually homosexuality isn't unnatural. It's found in human nature and nature of animals.sunglasses are unnatural, and?
there's a difference between naturalism and morality.A consenting gay adult relationship does no harm.
@Doggieballs4 umm no you're the nutcase. I was telling the truth, you are just spreading lies about homosexuality. You're the one who keeps denying that B4eauty and the Best is not based on fictional bestiality, when it is in fact bestiality in it's most literal sense.
@Doggieballs4 cuz its just a petty story just like the gay story is.
The book is based on a relationship between a beast & a human, yet the beast is shown as some1 who can talk, has human intelligence, & is able to consent to a relationship. This is cuz he is magically a human in beast form.
A consenting beast that can say the words "I consent" would never happen in real life, so even though it's bestiality, it wouldn't be a concern, because the story is based on a consensual relationship.
@DaFawky No you seein as all you can come up with is fuckin bullshit you are a fuckin idiot you don't know what you're talkin about and you're full of shit
@Doggieballs4 because being gay is normal too dumbass. When you go to the store when you go walking around there will always be gay people because it is part of human and animal nature. there's nothing wrong with two consenting people in a relationship regardless of gender.
@Doggieballs4 not really... "normal" is subjective. Also, gay people aren't a very rare occurance, so it's not exactly abnormal. Straight people have oral sex all the time, even anal sex. Most straight couples use condoms and try to stop them from having babies. If you consider gay relationships abnormal then you should consider straight relationships abnormal also.
@Doggieballs4 rape is taking an unconsenting person. homosexual relationships do not.
homosexual sex is seen in nature so that makes it natural, and it doesn't use an unconsenting person and it doesn't hurt the person like rape does, so it's natural AND moral.
heterosexual sex is just as natural as homosexual sex. You people have oral and anal sex all the time and deny it.
@Doggieballs4 Your whole argument is based off of the fact that homosexuals are abnormal. What merit do you have for this? Is it the fact that they are not as common an occurance as straight people? The same applies to being black or asian in the united states. Is it, therefore, wrong to be black or asian?
@Doggieballs4 No its not simple as that, or end of story. Just bcz u believe something with such certainty and conviction doesnt make it so. 'Normal' is subjective but fortunately its also not relevant when trying to decide whether somethings, morally right or wrong. Bcoz homosexuality doesnt inringe on anyones rights we dont need to debate whether its normal or not when deciding whether we should accept it. If your saying it gross then i can understand why youd feel that way
@Doggieballs4 Like I said homsexuality doesnt infringe on rights or cause harm, therefore its no more 'wrong' to show this to children as it is to to read them sleeping beauty. This is the oppsite to wrong bcoz it normalises what, for the aforementioned reason should already have been accepted as legitimate lifestyles thus promting respect towards good-but-different ppl and improved self-perception among latently gay kids
@Doggieballs4 It doesnt teach them about the sexuality, It just feautures a romance, identical to any fairytale or disney flick, only with 2 males. Only the appropriate aspects of the relationship is depicted, sexuality is ommited. This behaviour isnt harmful, nor does it violate rights, so its not wrong and childrens worldviews wont be shaped negatively by it-quite the opposite actually
Why is it people get angry about a child's book about a gay couple?
Let's look at the classic child stories. i know! Jack and the beanstalk. A boy stealing precious artefacts from a complete stranger and when the giant tries to get it back, Jack kills him.
Obviously, a gay couple is worse than this (Sarcasm, naturally).
@BiJaneWhite Cause that book king and king is about something that 5 year olds are to young to understand there's no way 5 year olds are gonna have a fuckin clue whats goin on in that book cause sexuality is only something a kid who's starting puberty can understand
You're absolutely right about this one, and I feel absolutely terrible for having had a viscerally negative reaction to the book the first time I saw it.
I saw it as a little heavy-handed and tacky, but you're right, if a book about a STRAIGHT couple was just as heavy handed and tacky, I wouldn't even have noticed.
honestly, this is like trying to force a caterpillar to stay in it's cocoon instead of teaching it to fly on it's own. People shouldn't ridicule another person for their beliefs.
people are just so insecure about the fact that there are gays. Even if you think it's wrong to be gay, why can't it be in a book? I've seen childrens' books where someone stole something, but there's no problem with that being in the book, so what's wrong with having gay people in their book?
I've been watching these videos for almost 3 hours. I just can't look away because you're the first person to so flawlessly take a verbal dump on religion and american society's view on...well...almost everything. Bravo, you made my day before it even started.
myfuzzlemuzzle, i see that you're still flunking out of the 7th grade. When they wash the walls in the boy's room you'll run out of idiotic, juvenile comments to post here. It's time to grow up, kid.
If anybody is wondering what that book is called that @RawrrrHaileyChan talked about, its called "And Tango Makes Three"
I did I speech about that last year

@LegionarioCruel right handed. It just won't, because no matter how much you try, you just can't write properly with the hand that's not your "main" one, because of the way your brain is wired. If sexual orientation could be changed by exposure, then why are there gay people at all if most ppl walking around are straight and untill recently, any media would portray only straight ppl? Just like seeing things adressed at straight people won't make gay ppl straight, seeing things for gay people
KendrixTermina 2 months ago
@LegionarioCruel won't make a straight person gay. Also, yes, what if it were therotically possible to chose to be gay, why shouldn't they? Are you implying it's a bad thing? Some of the kids who'll read those books will be gay. It's better to make sure they don't develop self-esteem issues.
KendrixTermina 2 months ago

How is that desirable and necessary?

tech21nyc1 5 months ago
@SecondAmerica first of all like ZJ said their are possibly hundreds of books about straight people and many students still turn out gay, so technically even if you are correct and books can make you gay even by reading them one time then you would only be turning a fraction of 1 percent of children gay. in fact probably 1 extra child in each school has a SMALL chance at becoming gay, when already 5 percent of people are already gay and also stop comparing gays to animals its getting tiring
thewhatsit104 6 months ago
@thewhatsit104 There may only be a tiny fraction of a chance that a kid will bring a gun to school and shoot your child with it. Does that make it any less devastating to a family if it' their child that gets killed? The furry comparison is only to draw the parallel between other deviant sexual preferences and homosexuality and is not meant to evoke people raping animals or young boys or anything of that nature.
SecondAmerica 6 months ago
@SecondAmerica well true although there is a chance a kid could bring a gun to school a book would probably not convince them to do this. people dont live their lives by books and if you do choose to live your life by a fairy tale book then im sorry but you are pretty retarted. and also having a gay child isnt "devistating" to a family, at least its not as devastating as having their child killed, so stop comparing your child being gay to your child beingt killed
thewhatsit104 6 months ago
@SecondAmerica What is "sexualizing" about a freakin' FAIRYTALE BOOK? There's nothing remotely sexual about it. A little romantic? Yeah, but it doesn't go into any detail, it's a children's book. The story is handled no different than a heterosexual couple in such a story would be handling - Then saying "and then, the girl married the prince and they had many children" would be sexualizing kids, too.
KendrixTermina 2 months ago
@KendrixTermina But it doesn't hold any special place amongst deviant perversions and should not be taught in school anymore than a book about a woman marrying a vegetable or a man marrying a chicken. Historically and culturally marriage is a partnership for the creation, protection and education of children...
SecondAmerica 2 months ago
@SecondAmerica If it's like you say, where did gay people come from in times where they were treated as non-existant?
KendrixTermina 2 months ago
@KendrixTermina Some people have personalities that incline them to do things differently, left handed people, for instance, contrarians, and rabble rousers... Also there are life experiences that can turn men off of women through bad associations. Hedonism which leads people to seek pleasure from anything and sexual abuse. I'm not under the impression that homosexuality can be stamped out of existence or that it needs to be....

The person suing was on the radio saying that if if kids in elementary school find out that gays exist, at an age when they can't stand the opposite sex, then they'll all want to be gay. There actually may be some truth to that but, as the saying goes, people in hell want ice water.
hviw 10 months ago
look at the history - a few medieval Kings and princess had "bedfellows" and married just to provide an heir to the throne. there was an expression that still exists in some parts of the world, "Women are for children, Men are for pleasure".

Another resounding rebuttal, sir.

I don't tell my son that the erection he has is unnatural/gross.

i want to get that book for my kid
i need to check the content, but it doesn't sound bad to me. my cousin found a kids book that creeped me out, a boy had parents who always fought and was sexually abused by his uncle, when he grew up people called him 'gay' but after talking with a councilor, turns out he wasn't it was his uncles fault he liked guys.
if that book is fine, and king and king isn't, what the hell? does king and king have them in bed together, one of them with a creepy grin?
LadyNekoshema 1 year ago
So why are all those heterosexual stories okay?
ZJemptv 1 year ago 3
@ZJemptv Cause heterosexual stories don't put any emphasis on sexuality unlike king and king where 70 per cent of the emphasis is on sexuality which is something a child is to young to learn
Doggieballs4 1 year ago
The story puts just as much "emphasis on sexuality" as any heterosexual fairy tale. Either quantify this or shut up.
ZJemptv 1 year ago 5
@ZJemptv No the story puts way more more emphasis on sexuality than any heterosexual fairy tale so fuck you freak

@Doggieballs4 Yeah making a statement without ANYTHING to qualify it, you sure gave him a sound thrashing. I can point to almost any childrens book/movie/tv show that is just as sexual as "King and King" and no one pitches a bitch about them. So either show that this book is somehow worse or shut our noise tube.
supermanlypunch 1 year ago
@supermanlypunch You and i both know the and the king book deals with the issue sexuality
Doggieballs4 1 year ago
@Doggieballs4 Not really, it's about a prince finding someone whom he loves and marrying them, there's probably thousands of other books/movies/tv shows with the exact same thing only without the extra Y chromosome or even better worse stuff (Someone else already pointed out Jack and the Beanstalk). So how is it that when he's kissing another man it's all about the sexual aspect, but when it's a girl sexuality doesn't even enter into it?
supermanlypunch 1 year ago
@supermanlypunch Are you fuckin insane how the fuck can Jack and the Beanstalk be worse than king and king
Doggieballs4 1 year ago
@Doggieballs4 OK then let me break it down a bit, a kid is forced to sell a dried up cow so he can buy food, instead he trades it for three beans on the word of a total stanger (Cause remember kids, always trade your valuables to total stangers as long as what they have is magic). He then when the beanstalk grows he goes about stealing precious things from a (In some versions) nearly blind man, and when the man tries to take back HIS belongings the kid kills him.
supermanlypunch 1 year ago
So let's review breaking and entering, theft of valuables from the disabled and murdering the people you steal from are just fine for your kid, but two people kissing, that's just too far.
supermanlypunch 1 year ago
@supermanlypunch No you're just putting 2 and 2 together and gettin 222 jack and the beanstalk is harmless unlike king and king which was written to put the message in kids heads that it's ok to be gay and that being gay is normal
Doggieballs4 1 year ago
@Doggieballs4 How am I doing that? That is the exact story of Jack and the Beanstalk, that I'm reading straight from a book of fairy tales (If I'm wrong tell me your version). Although I'll give you this, you are right in one respect, King and King was probably written to show kids that Gay people are, well, PEOPLE. Sure they show them kissing on one page, but the only difference between that and your average Disney Princess story is the extra Y chromosome.
supermanlypunch 1 year ago
@supermanlypunch You're maklin loopy exaggerations about each part of the story from the begging to the end. That aside teaching kids about homosexuality
is wrong cause 5 year old kids are way too you to understand what homosexuality
is
Doggieballs4 1 year ago
@Doggieballs4 No I'm really not, the sad part is that came straight from the book, go read it yourself if you don't believe me (Although not all versions have the giant being blind).
If a child can understand Heterosexualitywhat makes you think that they can't understand Homosexuality? There's really not that much of a difference, but if you're afraid that they might discover that they're gay, and that would make you not love them, then you are an evil person and you do not deserve children.
supermanlypunch 1 year ago
@supermanlypunch Ok lets cut the bullshit that fuckin book is for nothing more then for faggot pedofiles to brainwash kids into being gay simple as that
Doggieballs4 1 year ago
@Doggieballs4 You do realize that the majority of pedophiles are Heterosexual right (and even if they weren't they'd still be fucking lunatics so it wouldn't matter)? Even with that aside, You can't "Brainwash" people into being Homosexual anymore then you can do it with Heterosexuality (or else there wouldn't be any gays coming from Christian families), and even if the kids did turn out to be gay, and that would make you love your child less, then see my previous comment.
supermanlypunch 1 year ago
@supermanlypunch Look 5 year olds tend to copy things they see in books like king and king cause they're only 5 and don't know any different
Doggieballs4 1 year ago
@Doggieballs4 I'm not sure what parents you had as a kid, but where I come from most parents are smart enough to teach their kids to NOT imitate what they see in books when it comes to that sort of thing. And again I do not see how it can negetively effect the child, sure maybe they'll go through a phase of thinking they might be gay, but that'll probably happen regardless, and when they get older they'll figure it out and they'll either be gay or they won't be.
supermanlypunch 1 year ago
@supermanlypunch And cause parents don't want the hassle of teaching their kids
not to imitate what they see in that book king and king should be banned
Doggieballs4 1 year ago
@Doggieballs4 Sooo, it's the book's fault that some people are too lazy to be actual parents? Seriously, if you can't go through basic shit like "Don't try to do what you see in fantasy books" how the fuck are you you going to deal with anything else?
supermanlypunch 1 year ago
@supermanlypunch You're only a fuckin kid and you don't know what's involved in being a parent so shut your fuckin mouth
Doggieballs4 1 year ago
@Doggieballs4 Ohh and you do? I know enough to know that if I don't want my kid seeing something I don't let them see it, it's much easier then trying to ban it, it's less likely to make people who do not object hate me, and it's just as effecive as well as allowing my child to access it when they're mature enough so that I don't object. I also know that if you don't teach them early not to mimic fantasy they grow up and tend to do try and mimic fantasy.
supermanlypunch 1 year ago
@supermanlypunch But i can't keep my kids out school so i can't keep them from seeing this filth which is why i want that fuckin book banned seriously what good is teaching that sick shit to kids gonna do
Doggieballs4 1 year ago
@Doggieballs4 Ohhh I don't know, teach them a little tolerance? If the problem is that you don't want them imitating the book, go through the very simple conversation "Do not do what you see in fantasy" and ensure they understand, there shouldn't be a problem, I mean it worked for me when I was kid. And if your problem is with the school, find a different school, even the little speck of nothing town I grew up in had at least 3 elementary schools.
supermanlypunch 1 year ago
@supermanlypunch Well findin a school that does n't teach that filth is like finding a needle in a haystack and lets get one thing straight once and for all if a child imitates what he sees in that book its the schools fault and not the parent
cause the book is to grown up for 5 year olds so no matter what a parent says there's still a chance the child will copy what they see in that book
Doggieballs4 1 year ago
@Doggieballs4 Well it's not like it's teaching kids to murder eachother, you still haven't given a single word as to why it's so bad. Is it cause you don't like gays? If so that's your problem not ours. And to clear up, if a kid imitates something they see in fiction (I'm talking more "Tries to fly like Superman by jumping off a high place") then it's the fault of the child for doing it and the supervising adult for not stopping it.
supermanlypunch 1 year ago
@supermanlypunch Are you fuckin senile i've given you loads of reason why that book is so bad you fuckin retard
Doggieballs4 1 year ago
@Doggieballs4 No you haven't, you've just said "I don't like it" if a hundred different ways, yeah, "they might imitate it," but how is that in itself bad? You haven't told me once how this could be a negative thing, it isn't violent in anyway, it's not showing them how gay guys fuck (if that happened the book wouldn't even exist), and it's overall it's just telling them to be kind to someone different. HOW IS THIS A BAD THING!?!?!?!

Doggieballs4 1 year ago
@Doggieballs4 it's not fucked up at all. It's just two guys who love each other. SO? The same thing happened with Belle who liked a freaking monster beast, but no one complained about bestiality.
it's not fucked up at all, because either way, heterosexuality and homosexuality is innate.
homosexuality isn't fucked up, because they don't harm anyone with their sexual attraction, unlike pedophilia or bestiality.
DaFawky 1 year ago

@Doggieballs4 no shit, it's called fiction. It may be fiction but it was still bestiality based on fiction. You must be a retard if you didn't realize that.
Homosexuality isn't fucked up. It does not hurt anyone. If it was fucked up, it would be hurting people. There's nothing wrong with two adults being in a relationship whether it's a man or woman.

@Doggieballs4 cuz its just a petty story just like the gay story is.
The book is based on a relationship between a beast & a human, yet the beast is shown as some1 who can talk, has human intelligence, & is able to consent to a relationship. This is cuz he is magically a human in beast form.
A consenting beast that can say the words "I consent" would never happen in real life, so even though it's bestiality, it wouldn't be a concern, because the story is based on a consensual relationship.

@Doggieballs4 not really... "normal" is subjective. Also, gay people aren't a very rare occurance, so it's not exactly abnormal. Straight people have oral sex all the time, even anal sex. Most straight couples use condoms and try to stop them from having babies. If you consider gay relationships abnormal then you should consider straight relationships abnormal also.

homosexual sex is seen in nature so that makes it natural, and it doesn't use an unconsenting person and it doesn't hurt the person like rape does, so it's natural AND moral.
heterosexual sex is just as natural as homosexual sex. You people have oral and anal sex all the time and deny it.

1982mockingbird1982 1 year ago

@Doggieballs4 No it doesn't, it puts emphasis on their relationships. Not the same thing as sexuality sport.

How dare this book present gay people as... well... PEOPLE!
tetsubo57 1 year ago

Constitutional rights? What constitutional rights?

I don't know about anyone else but it hits me pretty hard. (I have lesbian parents.)

people are just so insecure about the fact that there are gays.
