The Illinois state legislature is seriously considering completely cutting the University of Illinois's athletic department due to the state's massive budget deficit.
Thanks for posting. AC was an amazing player. Probably years ahead of his time. 6:52 missed sack. Rrrrr. Wish I had a dime for every one of these during the Bo, Moeller, and Carr years.
Brad Childress was an offensive assistant for Illinois. He was in the sideline shot next to Mike White at the end of the game. He was on Moeller's staff and was retained by White.
I was living in New Orleans at the time, back when football coverage was strictly regional. While watching an SEC game hoping for ANY updates, they suddenly switched to the game and showed the last play of the stand, and I went from knowing nothing about the game to having my heart in my throat and then seeing the stop! I still get chest pain thinking about it.....!
No doubt. When the teams played the previous year, UM won 70-21. And on the other side, Bo hated Mike White and was still pissed at Illinois for firing Gary Moeller. The bad feelings between the two schools continued through the 1980's but died down shortly after.
I personally can't stand Illinois. And their fans are among the worst in the Big Ten. Right up there with OSU's. You couldn't pay me to watch Michigan play in Champaign.
well tony eason had a nosebleed for most of the second half...they just couldnt stop it...haha they didnt throw you out of the game for bleeding in them days.
No wonder they were referred to in some circles during the 80's as the "Biting Illini".
Pretty filthy group, IMO. Lawrence Ricks getting shoved over a bench after being run out of bounds was just an example of how dirty Mike White's teams were.
back in 82 if you caught the ball and hit the ground the ground couldnt cause the incomplete just as it cant cause a fumble...the rule has changed since then.

At 2:12 lower right of screen: No. 81 for Illini is the current head coach of the Minnesota Golden Gophers, TE Tim Brewster.

Man, what God awful refs. No flagging the late hit, then flagging Bo for arguing. Then calling the INT an incomplete.
But to be fair, I don't think Carter made that catch at the 4:52 mark.
Michigan wins in the end, so that's all that matters. :)

Man I wished I could have seen Carter play, from these highlight videos he was just a flat out beast.

I never got the privilege to watch Carter fly (except in these kind of videos cause I wasn't born yet), but he sure can fly....
What a stand by Michigan! I live hearing Bo talk football...Michigan football
I love watching these Michigan Football Videos!

Kinda suprised that Keith Jackson called this game considering that Illinois has been terrible in the 1980's with 1983 being an exceptional year!
