  • Your 91 Grand Marquis has a very rare option on it, the Heated Winshield. I had that on my 1988 but did not have it on my 1991. I thought that was the best feature for clearing the ice.

  • @mastermind48451

Yes these windshields are pretty rare, I am actually trying to find one right now- (a rock kicked off the road hit my windshield a "spider webbed" it across- long after this video was made) they are also ridiculously expensive- someone gave me an estimate of $1500 to replace it. I did however like the orange-gold tint when it was fully intact. Thanks for watching!

  • Are you going to derby it?

  • @McVaio

No, I was thinking of turning it into a drag racer though. Thanks for watching!

  • @VICNASTY1989

    Lol, just kidding ;-)

I hope you don't and keep it original =P Those cars are no racers, they're cruisers =)

  • @McVaio

I was also just joking, but the Windsor 302 5.0L V8 is pretty intense, it could easily overtake any modern car in a 1/4 mile. These cars are ridiculously over-powered, which is AWESOME!

  • @VICNASTY1989

Cool, I hope you keep it on the road forever =) Too many of these cars end up in derbies, it's a shame =(

Yes, Ford had no problems putting lots of raw power in the Grand Marquis =D My '94 also has very decent acceleration. How much hp does yours have? And what's the mileage? I get ~24mpg from the 4.6L Modular V8. Which is seriously cool considering how huge the car is.

  • @McVaio

I'll keep it on the road as long as I can, but there are plenty of these so I wouldn't worry about them disappearing. My 5.0 gets pretty bad gas milage if I try and push it (leaving rubber or speeding) but it gets descent milage if you drive normally ~ 18 mpg city. I'll have to look up the horse power though. I also think they changed the rear axle ratio on the '94, does yours go above 85mph?

  • @VICNASTY1989

Well i was talking about the combined mileage. On the highway it gets even better gas mileage :) But I drive like an old man haha! If I push the gas pedal hard there's a vortex in the gas tank as wel :P

  • I'm not sure how fast it can go, but I've had it speeding to 105mph once. I almost never pass 56mph though, both for my wallet and for the longevety of the car ;-)

But I think it won't go much faster than 105mph. My Dodge Lancer ES Turbo went over 125mph, that was pretty amazing if you realise that car was 21 years old at that time.

  • @McVaio

I was just kidding about leaving rubber and speeding, I was thinking about it and thought it was a good idea to tell you that I am a complete responsible driver that obeys laws and babys my Grand Marquis. I saw your video of your car on your page and thought of making a video to show what improvements I have made to the inside of my car.

  • @VICNASTY1989

Thanks for your reply, I only read it just now... Good to read that! =)

Your car is very good looking! Take care! =) I'll subscribe to keep on track of new videos about it =)

  • Too bad Mercury will cease production.

  • @auaiao9

I'm really upset about that, but I heard their just going to start making luxury models of the Ford cars under the same name, like instead of the Milan- there will just be a upscale edition of the Fusion and likewise with their SUV's and larger cars- but this is according to the Ford salesman we talked to. My mom actually just bought one of the last '10 Mercury Milans off the lot of our local Lincoln-Merc.-Ford dealership, who knows Merc's might be collectable in the future.
