@sies90 I don't think he's stupid at all, I merely think that he should've been more aware. Not that he probably could've done much though. He wasn't stupid, he's done this loads before, like he said he was in the water with the sharks for 45 minutes before the shark attacks. It was a Bull and they are one of the top sharks for attacking humans. Oh and on the horserider topic, I'm a riding instructor with 16 horses of my own and I say that about 75% of falls are the rider's fault, if not more ;)

@sies90 Oh and I don't think that sharks are man eateing monsters, they do what evolution has taught them to do. We enter shark-inhabited waters at our own risk, we should know the dangers. I'm just saying that Bull sharks are one of the shark types most likely to bite a human, most likely out of curiosity; but still, hit and run attacks could still be lethal.

@sies90 Because people keep dogs as pets they have way more contact with humans, especially as they are all over dry land, and sharks are in the oceans. That's one of the main reasons why dogs kill more people than sharks.

@sies90 And compare a dolphin's teeth and nature to the teeth and nature of a shark? Dolphin teeth are way smaller than shark's teeth. Dolphins are very willing to be sociable and interact playfully with humans. Bull Sharks are opportunistic feeders, if they are looking for a meal and they find a prey lookalike, they'll go for it. A Bull shark's curiosity often outweighs their caution and they are known to bite humans simply to see what they are so it's stupid to stand in the middle of them.

All of these arguments I see are Elementary. The reason Homo-Sapiens are at the top of the food chain is one reason. Reason! We have incredibly large and functioning brains. Our brains get clouded by the allure of thrill-seeking and curiosity. What happened here is neither the sharks' nor persons' fault. Furthermore, any organism has the right to go anywhere on their own accord while knowing the possible risk involved. To all those "you invaded his house" people; seafood is our biggest asset.

I really dont get why people are so freaked out by sharks...... I mean, yes, sometimes they kill people and that is sad, but thats what happens when you go in an apex predator's territory. Sharks only kill 5 people a year, so more people are killed by lightning, falling coconuts, and vending machines. People kill 100 million sharks a year, which means 3 sharks a second. Without sharks we can't survive, seeing as they protect the world's oxygen supply by eating plankton feeders.....
