According to Gryff Rhys Jones,who let it slip in an interview just before Christmas, Mel Smith is in the early stages of Parkinson's Disease. I have nursed people with Parkinsons and they don't usually speak as Mel did on Celebrity Mastermind, it sounded like a palate or tongue problem to me. Gryff should know the truth though. I wish him well whatever is wrong.

i think that when it looks like they cant stop laughing it is actually all ppart of the script. they are acting it. it might be made up to an extent but i think it is planned. it is still brill though. made ma laugh so much :D

they did to when i saw it, balls stand in sang i can feel the bells, and they had to try four times to continue the song without bursting into hysterical laughter. But i think i must be hard to say those lines an look at the edna character at then not laugh, the audience bursting into laugher making it even harder

michael ball was laughing so hard he had to stop singing and start a line again and then sing with his eyes closed!
