It doesn't harp on the diamond issue, it only shows the horrors of Africa and places references to it with subtlety. It could have ruined the movie for Solomon to be standing over his dead family screaming "WHY! Diamonds!" THANK YOU movie! Fantastic job!

true lesson in this scene. there is good in everybody. Danny was a guy in it for the diamond. and done a lot of sin in his life which would ultimately lead to hell once his death occurred. But he found the good in himself. Giving Solomon the stone for a better life for him and his family. That just may have god spare him.
