@danroh001 That's a good point. I wonder if such flinching could be avoided by ensuring a relatively noisy environment, e.g. so that explosions would be relatively less noisy and thus less startling. Further, the actors could employ high grade noise reducing earplugs, essentially rendering the explosions as mute as a drop of a pencil...
Salut j'adore ta vidéo.J'aurais voulu etre la pour admirer cela.Tu pourrais me donner le titre de la chanson que tu as utilisé en 1:37 s'il te plait.Merci d'avance...
@dennielleflorelee it can't be edited. It is real because it costs MUCH less than being edited and it won't look as good. I'm an editor working with a lot of CGi footages. many things are done on maquettes rather on computer in hollywood; which is impressive in my opinion.
The explosions are real, but are touched up with CGI. If you watch the explosions in the final film you can notice that there are particle effects that simply couldn't be achieved on a set.
@radulica No.. Nolan shuns CGI and avoids it as much as possible. In fact he states using CGI in a film is a reminder that you're in a theater watching a movie. Something he wants to avoid. Everything he does is all physical effects, complicated rigs, and well planned stunts.
Of course it aint CG animation. They would have to hand animate all of the objects being shot out from its direction along with turnig the objects in mid air incrementally every split second to make it look convincing. Its a pain in the ass to hand animate all of the objects for that shot alone.
@yankeeman444 Ever seen Amelie ??? look it up on IMDB, it's a french movie and by all voters, it is the 46th best movie ever, I believe after watching that movie, you will change your mind about french movies sucking
@MrFlickCritic Have you even seen the movie? If so, then you would know that when the flying objects explode next to them, they wake up. They only show Ellen in that shot.
No they added a lot of CGI to the scene (such that vegetables and blocks of stone that already exploded blew up into even smaller pieces) but the base explosions were real.
@KINGJADEX Wrong! For practical effects, CGI always costs a LOT more money than practical effects (with the exclusion of Titanic and that big damn boat). CGI also looks less convincing than reality does at the moment.
@KINGJADEX People go to CGI because of freedom. You could put the camera in crazy places without the fear of the crew's life. In Jurassic Park, do you think they could have a running robot that's the height of a two story building?
Miniatures are still being used a lot today. It's a hell lot more cheaper, and if scaled right, better than any current CGI could produce.
@gorakaraz1 Yes, action films with big budgets. It's not like filming those scenes are cheap and they have a huge name actor, director and studio attached to a project. Money is barely an object...
I saw this video before here on YouTube, even before the movie was out. It's really cool to see how they filmed it now that the movie is released! Thanks for posting!

Thank god the dwellers didn't allow the use of real explosives , instead high pressure nitrogen was used to blow things up which made the scene EPIC!
