Apparently the crew didnt know what to do so the aussie went searching and found the life jackets which there wasn't enough of and handed them out to the weak swimmers and then the weak swimmers without life jackets he then paired up with people who were strong swimmers to help them.

I was in Phuket on my honeymoon at the time and two ladies who were on that burning boat were on another boat tour the following day which we were on. They told us that no one was hurt and an Australian fire fighter was there who jumped into gear and rescued the entire 80 odd people by helping them get off.

im sure 1 firefighter could save 80 people she probably thought it was one firefighter because we all look the same
