  • i ride on the metro in taipei many times good alternative to bus :)

  • monorail in KL is driverless too

  • No, this train didn't bound for Taipei Zoo, I know it was bound for Jhongshan Junior High School Station from the announcement

  • the MRT looks so cute around 6:30

  • verry good, the town Taipei.

  • when i rode the train it is fast on straights

  • that's an early example of val rubber wheeled train technology and looks more at home at an airport instead of hauling commuters through a large city

it does appear to be going unusually slow before it reaches the mountain tunnel

  • neihu888

    ultraposh

  • Sorry, I'm from Taipel, but this is not the train to Taipei Zoo Station. It's from Wanfang Hospital to Technology Building Station. I take Muzha Line for many many times, so I know it.This is Muzha Line-one of the line in Taipel.

  • Driverless trains can be dangerous too. In Spore, our driverless trains (the LRT) has been disrupted more than 5o times b/w 1999 to 2000

  • and caused more recent lines tied to the recent settling of northeast singapore and complete replacement of the singapore airport train to use a product called crystal mover by mitsubishi instead of bombardier's offering.

also note the top to bottom safety gates and other obstruction detection schemes to avoid stray objects getting dropped on the tracks

  • Awesome view. I've been looking for a good quality video of this line for some time, can't believe I missed this one. Do you have any other driver-eye ride videos?

  • Hi, thanks. Sorry I don't have any more of these at the moment. Taipei Metro trains are driverless which is why I could place the videocam at the front of the train. It really is a great experience. The only other driverless train I've been on is the Sydney monorail but that's a short ride. Cheers!

  • sydney monorail isn't completely driverless. it has a driver who pushes a "start cycle" button to get it going after each station and occupies the whole front carriage after several large disruptions happened in its early days
