She's a wonderful singer. She's done some great work for E.N.O. and she sings very well in English - which is not easy to do. Unfortunately even Wagner sounds like G & S in English! Don't get me wrong. I love G & S, but there's a time and a place for it!
effortless...i'm affraid to say though that english does not suit faust, especially a song that is this famous, only the original language should ever be sung...
Haha, I'm a native english speaker, and I can honestly say... unless the opera is written in english, it shouldn't be done in english, just doesn't sound right...
What a gorgeous voice - thank you coloraturafan for posting this - I had never heard of her before. As a total package I think I like this one the best against the sampling on Youtube.
Her voice has a warm, beautiful lyric timbre. Very evenly produced. Excellent details and touches in phrasing. Trill is good but could have more ping. I like the sense of sexual awakening after she puts on the bracelet. Wonderful! 5/5
I just love her voice!!! Simply beautiful lyric!!!!

Really good performance but I don't think the English language is suited for this piece

I don't care for the English lyrics at all, but I like that her voice is light and conveys the youth and innocence of the character well.

Yes, it's a pity that it's in English - because she really is fantastic. What a wonderful glassy soprano!

It sounds like Gilbert and Sullivan...

Haha, well funnily enough, she did sing Peep-Bo in The Mikado on a Mackerras recording. Guess some of the G & S influence rubbed off on her.

I didn't mean her so much as the translation. I'd never noticed before how much this aria resembles Poor Wandering One...

Quite nice, even if it should be forbidden to sing this aria in English! 4.5/4
