Both have about the same 'bells and whistles' in terms of comfort and stuff though ... but the lexus definitely isn't lacking.
Also, if you compare an IS350 to a C350, the lexus wins every time (speed-almost a second quicker 0-60, better technology again, and probably about the same comfort specs).

No offense, but since you do have a Mustang, have you ever driven an actual expensive luxury vehicle, like the IS-F... or a Nissan GT-R ... or even an SL63/65. Its a totally different drive than the Stang. All of these cars will outhandle a muscle car. GT-R is even faster/outhandles the SL63 for $50k less.

I'm a Benz owner (e55 AMG) but i think this car is really slick. there's one for sale at the local Carmax, and I'm very tempted to give ti a test drive. i know it won't match the straightline performance of me E55, but it looks like an all around fun car to drive, with BMW M car like handling. Plus, Lexus is known for great quality and reliability. It's okay for German car fans to compliment their competitors, ya know! This car is a serious contender.

great car, been my favorite since it came out. lexus might not make as fast or sporting as some other companies, but i can guarante that they have quality. i have a lexus rx300 and it is unbelieveable.
Lets admin the GTR (not in this class) is faster than the M3, IS-F and C63... But after a bit of research I came to find out that the BMW has a better braking distance than the GTR at 98ft and a slalom 73.3mph... Also getting a better 0-60 time and quarter mile time.. Means it's a much better Sports-Car than its competitors.

This car is way over priced to be a true contender. My $40,000 Jeep SRT8 left it in the dust, the guy was on my ass around corners on the highway, but on the straight stretch he was 30 car lenghts behind me, as I was doing 120mph, he couldn't keep up.
if anything i like both the ISF and M3.. but id rather just have a normal IS rather than an ISF.. there's something about a 4door sports coupe that kinda puts me to sleep.. that's why i would take an M3 over an ISF.. but i do agree with you.. id take the skyline over all of them if i had the money.. but i still and always will be a BMW fanatic.

I don't know what autoblog are going on about, but the Lexus dealer (I spoke to a Japanese guy that works in UK and Japan) and plus the internet say a late 2009 SC460 will be release with the engine from a LS460, and a more powerful version will be released the following year, with the Supercharged version of the Lexus IS-F's 5.0L engine (SC500).
It is a sports sedan. and it does handle well, just not if you compared to the M3. overall Id take the ISF for its power, comfort, reliability and the 8-speed trans.

great car, been my favorite since it came out. lexus might not make as fast or sporting as some other companies, but i can guarante that they have quality. i have a lexus rx300 and it is unbelieveable.

Lets admin the GTR (not in this class) is faster than the M3, IS-F and C63... But after a bit of research I came to find out that the BMW has a better braking distance than the GTR at 98ft and a slalom 73.3mph... Also getting a better 0-60 time and quarter mile time.. Means it's a much better Sports-Car than its competitors.

the GTR slaloms at 74mph. gets more Gs on the skid-pad. and also brakes better at even higher speeds.

GT-R is a great car, and a really sports car/supercar. The M3 is more of a luxury coupe with a lot of power and great handling. (but still not a real sports car).

What does "your" IS-F beat the M3 at? Cause its certainly not at a track and sure in a straight line race It might have it. But, thats not why true sport-sedan enthusiast buy a sports-sedan. I did some research on it and the CTS-V is in a different class than the CTS-V. compares to the BMW M5 and the audi S6 so yea it's faster. also the cts-V is F/I and the Is-F is N/A.

I agree Cadillacs got great style & power. This car does look bland, at a glance it looks almost like a corolla, 2nd I live in socal and you wouldnt believe how many of this played out car I see on the road each day, sometimes 3 or 4 at the lights, I'd roll though in my 08 STS n blast them away, I wouldnt want to own a car that's played out. The 09 CTS coupe will look wicked esp the V It'll dust an ISF, M3, c55, s4, TL, anyday.

There is no clear way to say which is better because everybody has different tastes and needs.
The IS-F is rad for having a V8 and an 8 speed automatic, though.

there is actually a M3 sedan. the M3 is a direct competitor to the IS-F. M5 costs alot more and has V10. M5 will be competing with the upcoming GS-F.

This car is way over priced to be a true contender. My $40,000 Jeep SRT8 left it in the dust, the guy was on my ass around corners on the highway, but on the straight stretch he was 30 car lenghts behind me, as I was doing 120mph, he couldn't keep up.

to be honest i am sure SC series won't stop, thats the Sports Coupe that gave Lexus a start with the amazing SC400..
I don't know what autoblog are going on about, but the Lexus dealer (I spoke to a Japanese guy that works in UK and Japan) and plus the internet say a late 2009 SC460 will be release with the engine from a LS460, and a more powerful version will be released the following year, with the Supercharged version of the Lexus IS-F's 5.0L engine (SC500).
